Hey guys, AKSR here. Sorry for the long absence, just exams and writers block decided to oppose me this winter. No worry though, I have found a way! I will continue to post this story, but it may be in long breaks, but please stay loyal. Also, I am going to include some XY themes, like Mega Evolving, but no Kalos Pokémon will appear. Thanks!

The Surprise Guest…

As we went inside Indigo Plateau, I looked around. There were more guests inside, including some very powerful trainers as well. Lance, League Champion of both Johto and Kanto regions, was in attendance, wearing his usual outfit of dark clothing with a red cloak. Cynthia, Champion of Sinnoh, was also in attendance, wearing a black outfit with gold accents.

The entrance hall was decorated with ribbons, lightning posters, and, in front of the entrance way of the Elite Four, hung a banner that said "Happy 16th Birthday Ash!" On a table just below, was a cake that stood quite a bit tall. On it were different tiers of Pokémon that I caught throughout the regions. On the very top were me, my friends, and my Pikachu. I felt happiness well inside of me, but I kept it from becoming an outburst.

On the table to the right of it stood a pyramid of gift wrapped boxes, each of a different design. For some reason, a few seem out of place, but they were spherical in shape, so I could understand.

A band was playing near the lounge, led by a blond kid wearing a weird headband. The band's name was the Ninetails, and they sounded pretty good. I do admit though, It was a little strange, being consisted of flutes and drums, but it sounded pretty good.

After I saw the rest of the party and guests, I felt a tap on my shoulder and the smell of the sea. I turned around, and saw Misty's face close. My palms started to get sweaty, so I hid them in my tux's pockets. "H-Hey Misty…" I stammered, trying to figure out what I am feeling.

She gave me a small smile, and then replied. "Hey Ash, Happy Birthday. I have a present for you, but the present opening is after the cake." She took from behind her back a small Pokéball, wrapped is seafoam green wrapping paper, with a red bow on top. She set it on the table next to the other 4 sphere presents, and came back towards me. "I hope you like it." She whispered, sending a shiver down my spine.

Ok, maybe I should explain… When it comes to battles and saving the world, I can do that easy. (Though, it may be hard in some occasions of saving the world). It shows how I became righteous and not as selfish when I was little. Sadly, just because I matured, doesn't mean the mystery of girls is now cleared. Heck, I could probably solve the mystery of Arceus and Mew, yet still be stumped by a girls smile and wave, especially one girl…

Anyhow, I went over towards the cake. There was a cloaked man near it, but quickly walked away from it into a different corner. All I could see of him was a spot of red… I didn't know how important that was about to come…

After we sang "Happy Birthday" and started to devour the cake, my mom and Misty came from behind me and sat on both sides of my. Pikachu has on my head, eating out of little ketchup packets. I swear, I think he has a problem. Professor Oak stood and clinked a glass. Everyone turned toward the head of the table, were I was sitting.

"Ladies and gentlemen, and Pokémon!" said Oak. "I am pleased to announce that our favorite Trainer, Ash Ketchum, has reached a certain age where he stopped being a boy," he turns, and gives a small smile. "And he becomes a man!"

Everyone cheered, but Oak held up a hand. "I am not done. Not only is it his birthday, but I am pleased to give him his first present."

He goes over to the table, and picks up a spherical gift wrapped in black. "Here you go, Ash." I started to unwrap the present, and it was actually a weird band with a rock on top. "It is a gift from the Kalos region I got on an earlier trip. This came with it to." He pulls a red, blue, and black rock from his pocket and gives it to me. "The man said a Charizard may like to hold this, but it can be for you as well."

"Thank you Professor." I replied, and shook his hand. His grip was strong, but it had a respectful feel to it.

"Oh, oh, our turn!" yelled Max from down the table. May put her hand over her face, but still gave a small smile. "Max, you can be embarrassing sometimes…" The two got up, and griped an orb wrapped in purple, green, and white.

Max gave it to me, saying "Here, it started to admire your picture we had, so we thought it might take to your liking. It is a- MFFFH!" May covered her brother's mouth with her hand. "Just open it Ash."

I opened it, and saw it was a Pokéball. I opened it, and a Pokémon came out. I was surprised: I happened to like this Pokémon, but never had time to get one. It was dog-like, but had two strands of hair coming from its head, and it been on its hind legs. It opened its eyes, showing dark blue pools of wisdom and Aura sensing abilities. May and Max got me a Lucario.

"It showed up one day, and started training really hard!" said Max as he was being dragged back to his seat by his sister.

Cynthia and Lance came over to my seat. "We also have a gift for you. You see, me and Lance thought this would be a good idea, since it had a similar effect to your Lucario." Said Cynthia.

They both grabbed a gift wrapped in gold and red. I knew it had to be another Pokéball, but what Pokémon? I soon had my answer, when I unwrapped it, and out came a large shark, but it was on its hind legs, and could breathe on land. It had a star shaped crest on its nose, and yellow irises surrounded by black.

"A Garchomp." I said. I always wanted one since I say Cynthia's but I never expected this! Cynthia explained that my Gible wondered off, and started to train with her Garchomp. It soon becomes one thereafter.

"Technically, we are giving you what you had." Said Lance. Garchomp started to nudge my face, and a petted its nose.

"Thanks." I said, shaking both their hands. I say Misty about to get up, but then an explosion occurred. Pikachu started to fly, but Garchomp caught him, while Lucario caught my mom. I, on the other hand, caught Misty as she tried to fly off as well. After getting a clear look, I realized the cloaked visitor had a Hydreigon. It looked tired, as though it was recharging. It must have used a Hyper Beam attack.

The stranger threw down a black pad, and an electronic voice emanated from the box. "To Ash Ketchum: I challenge you to a battle. It is one to decide if you are even worthy to be a Trainer. Climb Mt. Silver, solve the riddle, and then face what you fear. Then I will battle you, the Champion of all Regions. If you defeat me, I will never bother you again. But if you refuse or lose…"

The stranger threw out a Pokéball, and an Electrivire came out. It fired off a Hyper Beam right at Misty. I was running towards her, but everything seemed so slow: Me, the attack, and the blur coming in front of Misty…

Another explosion occurred, and the stranger looked up. Misty looked at what just saved her from the blast, and gasped. "You!"

"You?" I said at the same time, as the dust cleared.

"Me." Replied a voice in my head, and Mewtwo summoned an Aura Sphere in his hand, ready to battle.
