A/N: Hey guys! I haven't updated this in so long, and I'm really sorry. This is a pretty lengthy chapter, so hopefully it makes up for the lack of updates. Enjoy!

-Buttercup-

I looked through the lenses and snapped a picture.

"Ooh, nice shot." My friend Holly complimented before she turned to take her own shot.

"Thanks." I smiled. I took high pride in my photography skills. It was one of the things I was best at, academics included in the things I was best at.

"Is that it?" Alicia asked, looking at the time.

"Yep." Holly said, putting her camera away.

"Good… we would be late if we had to take any more pictures." Alicia said. The three of us packed up and Alicia and I headed home to get ready for the Art Museum Opening.

I found the dress I was going to wear in a neat dry cleaners bag on my bed and I smiled. It was a gorgeous bright green one-shoulder dress that matched my eyes and reached my knees. It was plain, but it was stunning, with a black stripe going across the waist. The design seemed familiar, but I paid no attention to it, putting on some black heels and putting my hair in a twisty bun.

I looked perfect for the event, as did Alicia, with her pastel blue cocktail dress and gorgeous hair, so we quickly got into her car and started driving.

"So… where is Townsville, exactly?" I asked as she pulled out of the driveway.

"You've never been?" I shook my head. "Well, you should. It's amazing. But there are a lot of criminals and-" she stopped.

"And what?" I was intrigued by this, and I wanted to know more.

"Weird stuff." Alicia continued after pausing for a few seconds. "Monster attacks, mutated evil monkeys, talking dogs, green teenagers, demons, wannabe Medusas, weird fuzzy hillbillies, and super powered kids." Alicia shuddered.

I looked at her in disbelief, but that last part caught my attention."Super powered? What do you mean?"

"I've been to Townsville a lot since I was seven, and people would talk about these girls who used to save the day and whatnot with their super powers. Oh, and these guys who were exactly like them but evil and male." Something about what she said sounded familiar. All of it did, actually. We were both silent for a minute, her eyes on the road and my mind thinking about all of this.

"What about the girls?" I blurted out. Alicia raised an eyebrow. "You um, you said that they talk about how those girls used to save the day and stuff. Well, what happened to them? And who are they?"

"Well, they were originally made to be the perfect little girls."

"Originally made...?"

"Some science experiment, apparently. The scientist mixed sugar, spice, and everything nice, like in the nursery rhyme, together but then he added this… chemical that gave them superpowers. What was it called? Chemical… Chemical S? No… Chemical C? No, that's not it…"

Something in the back of my mind clicked and I heard myself say, "Chemical X?"

Alicia nodded. "Oh that's it! Chemical X!"

That sent a bell ringing in the back of my mind. Something flashed before my eyes and I realized it was three little girls- three little girls in matching dresses with white stockings and black Mary Janes. The one on the left had blonde hair pulled into two pigtails, blue eyes, and a blue dress. The one in the middle had red hair pulled into a ponytail with a pink bow, a pink dress, and pink eyes. The last one had short black hair, green eyes, and a green dress. I realized that she looked exactly like I did when I was younger. The picture in front of me shifted and the three girls were flying. Each with a streak flowing behind them in the colors of their dresses.

"They saved the day like super heroes and beat criminals and monsters and would be absolutely perfect. They were… the Powerpuff Girls."

I snapped out of my daze as Alicia stopped the car.

"We're here…" I exhaled sharply. "So um," I cleared my throat. "Where to?"

"We just need to walk a few blocks and we'll be right at the museum." Alicia said, turning off the engine and unbuckling her seatbelt. "Let's go."

I unbuckled my own seat and got out of the car, waiting for Alicia to set the car alarm. She set it and began to walk, so I followed her. We walked and, sure enough, after a few blocks we reached the museum. We were about to walk up the marble steps to the entrance, when the door burst open and five male teenagers appeared. My eyes widened and I froze.

These weren't ordinary teenage boys. They were green. It made me a bit sick to look at, but the sick feeling wasn't directed at their skin, evil demeanor, or the bags of loot they were carrying. It was the little voice in the back of my head It felt like I knew them.

I felt a mix of emotions towards the tall one wearing a leather vest and deep black sunglasses. I felt hatred, resentment, and some sort of attraction. I never even met this guy and I already felt some kind of love-hate for him. It felt like he was from a distant past…

"Ace…" I found myself whispering.

The gang turned towards me and 'Ace' looked at me. His smirk turned into a gape, and I felt all eyes on me.

This day just got a million times weirder.

-Blossom-

I heard the sound of Taylor's Civic rumble into the driveway and I quickly changed into jeans and a bright pink Hollister hoodie. I put my hair into a quick ponytail and shoved my belongings into my pockets. I then ran downstairs and found my redheaded sister leaning against the door, a smirk on her face and a gleam in her brown eyes.

"Miss me?"

"Taylor!" I tackled her into a hug and squealed. "Oh gosh I've missed you so much!"

"I've missed you too, sis. My dorm is great, but I miss having you as a roommate." She hugged me back and we smiled at each other.

Jordan ran towards us and grinned. "Hey squirt, how've you been?" She ruffled his hair and pulled him into a hug.

"Good until you messed up my hair." He scowled, trying to pat the wild curls down.

"Alright guys, let's head off."

Soon, we were on the hour drive to Townsville. Jordan insisted we turn on a rap station, but with my seat in shotgun, I turned on a Top 40 radio station.

I tried to focus on Jordan and Taylor's conversation, but I couldn't shake off the dreams.

"You know, I heard there's a really famous professor in Townsville." Taylor spoke up.

"Wait what?" My attention was pulled into the conversation immediately. I recalled seeing a Professor of some sort in one of my dreams, and my gut was telling me this professor was connected to everything.

"Yeah, it's so cool. Apparently he graduated from my university like ten years ago or something, and he started rising to fame with his brilliant inventions and experiments. I don't really believe it, because they say he created these three little super-powered girls out of supermarket products." She scoffed then laughed. "It's ridiculous."

"Y-Yeah…" I chuckled softly. My mind began racing, but before I could ask more, Taylor dropped the subject. "Tay-"

"I love this song!" She grinned, ignoring me and turning up the volume of the radio station.

We reached Townsville and decided to swing by a pizzeria for lunch. We got to Townsville quicker than expected, so we had twenty minutes to kill before meeting up with our parents.

I sat by a booth near the door while Jordan played in the arcade and Taylor went to order. The place was pretty busy, but no one paid attention to me. I sat quietly and contently, looking over the view of the streets. There were two teenagers by the window near me arguing. The boy wore a dark red snapback over his shaggy red hair and sounded annoyed at the curly red haired girl in front of him. She had a nasally voice and beady brown eyes, and was practically screaming at him. Her name was Princess, apparently, and she was a "creepy, obsessive, spoiled, stalker" according to the boy.

"But Bricky-!" Princess whined.

"My name is not Bricky!" He snapped, and he glared at her with bloodred eyes. "It. Is. Brick. Now fuck off!" Princess clenched her fists.

"Fine. You'll come around one day…" With that, she strutted off, her nose high in the air. As soon as she was out of sight, Brick sighed in relief and rolled his eyes. He checked his phone and turned towards the entrance of the pizzeria. The bell chimed and I looked at him. He seemed very… strange. Brick's eyes ran over the pizzeria and he soon made eye contact with me. This relaxed demeanor tensed and his eyes widened with both astonishment and uncertainty.

"It can't be." He said, his mouth agape.

"Um, c-can I help y-you?" I stuttered, uncomfortable with the boy analyzing me.

"Red hair, pink eyes…" He regained his composure and a devious glint appeared. "Only one way to find out." He walked closer to my table and grabbed me roughly by the arm. He pulled me up with ease and brought me into his grasp.

"What are you doing?" I gasped, trying to get myself out of his grasp. He dragged me outside and looked at me closely as he walked away from the pizzeria.

"Who the hell are you and why are you doing this?" I cried.

"You don't remember me Blossy? I'm hurt." He snickered.

"B-Blossy?" I whimpered, feeling anxiety run through me. Here I was being kidnapped by this boy I didn't even know who was calling me Blossy. I felt my head pound and I felt like crying.

He ignored me however, and smirked as he continued to walk away from the pizzeria and towards an empty lot. "Oh well." He began to descend into the air and I felt the ground leave my feet.

I screamed, not knowing what he was doing and felt tears going down my face.

"Shut up." He growled at me, pushing his arm against my throat, suffocating me. I began to get dizzier and got quieter. The darkness began to take me under as my head got lighter and his voice became farther. "You'll remember me." He continued. "After all, Blossom never forgets anything."

-Bubbles-

Liz had come over after school to get ready before Holden and Oliver came over with our ride. I wanted to go to skate park with the guys, but Liz begged me to let her come over to try on some of my clothes for the concert. I never really cared all that much about clothes, but I had a cool sense of style according to Liz. "Seriously Bree, I love the denim in your closet." Liz gushed, flipping her brown hair as she adjusted the acid wash denim jacket.

I shrugged at her statement. Honestly, I just picked out anything that was comfortable and anything I liked. I just happened to like denim and leather. Liz was still trying on different jackets while I already got dressed. I chose black monochrome Converse, ripped dark-washed skinny jeans, a dark blue crop top, and a leather jacket. "We gotta get ready, Liz." I sighed, looking at the time. "The guys will be here-"

As if on cue, there was a honk outside.

"Right about now." I mumbled, getting my phone, keys, and wallet together as Liz finally shoved my clothes into my closet and closed it.

"All right, all right." Liz sighed dramatically. "Let's get this show on the road."

"There's no going back!" The four of us all screamed as the radio blasted through the speakers.

The beat was sick as we all laughed and bobbed our heads in sync to the music. We had been driving for twenty minutes and had been listening to the radio. We were sat in Oliver's truck and Liz had control of the radio station, which meant Top 40 the whole drive. I personally preferred rock and 'punk' music as my mom describes it, but there were some pop songs I could stand. Dark Horse being one of them.

The song continued to play as we all sang along obnoxiously.

"Be careful, try not to lead her on. Shawty's heart is on steroids 'cause her love is so-" Juicy J's rap was cut off short and the four of us stopped quite a few beats later, not realizing it.

"Hey!" Liz cried. "Stupid ra-"

"Attention, citizens of Townsville," The radio played a man's voice. "Various villains have gone on a crime spree in the city. Said villains include the Gangrene Gang, the Rowdyruff Boys, Princess, and Sedusa! It's absolute mayhem and-" I froze, some recognition dawning over me.

Gangrene Gang? Rowdyruff Boys? Princess? Sedusa? Why did those names sound so familiar? Images darted through my mind like a quick slideshow: five teenage boys with green complexions, three little color-coded boys, a little girl donning a golden crown and a jetpack, and a woman with snakelike curls for hair. "It's days like this when you miss the Powerpuff Girls." Powerpuff Girls? The name sounded so familiar, like I knew it. But I had no idea what that was.

"Ugh, I'm changing the channel." Liz sighed, as she pressed the button until it landed on a station playing Lorde. "Ooh I love this song! C'mon Bree!"

She interrupted my thoughts and I bit my lip and silent sighed. I guess my screwed up memories can wait… but I'll find out more about the whole Powerpuff Girls thing.

"That was fucking amazing!" Holden grinned as we filed out of the building.

The concert had just ended and security was ushering people out of the venue. As we exited the building, I was hit with a slight evening breeze. We all excitedly discussed the concert, from our favorite parts to favorite performances.

"The best part was when the fire came out of the stage during the guitar solo like damn that was such good timing. I give 'em props." Holden said, reenacting it with hand gestures.

"Hey I heard they're going out on the town after the gig." Liz said. "Do you wanna try and hunt them down?"

"Um is that even a question?" I smirked.

"They didn't take the van so they must be nearby." Oliver said.

"I'm starving, maybe we'll get to grab dinner with them." Holden laughed. We started to walk around and we soon reached Main Street when the bank exploded.

And I mean exploded. Fire, smoke, blast- everything.

The blast knocked cars over and I was sent hurdling into a car window. Two figures emerged from the smoke and rubble.

"And thanks for the money!" A voice called.

"Butch, this beats our old record!" Another voice said, amazed.

"We've outdone ourselves, my dear brother." 'Butch' said, approval shone in his voice.

They stepped out of the smoke and I got a good view of them. They were both tall, built figures, but still young looking. Butch had messy black hair and dark green eyes, while his brother had wavy blonde hair and dark blue eyes. The two boys looked strangely familiar, like I talked to them and had a connection to them somehow. They continued to laugh and walked towards me.

"Butch, look what we have here."

"Boomer, now is not the time." Butch scoffed, keeping his eyes on me curiously.

Boomer… Blood pounded in my head and a scene flashed before me. I was in front of a blonde girl, a red headed girl, and a black haired girl. They seemed to be flying or something and glaring at three boys opposite of them. The boys looked an awful lot like them, but they had an evil glint in their eyes.

"Let's give 'em some sugar!" The red head smirked.

"Oo!" The blonde girl waved her hands excitedly. "I want the blonde! I think he's cute!" She giggled and the scene faded away.

"Rowdyruff Boys." I whispered, uncertain of what my brain was doing.

"This chick looks familiar." Boomer frowned, a searching look in his eyes.

"Don't call me a chick!" I found myself glaring, and my voice had gone a few octaves high, mimicking a little girl's voice. More specifically, it sounded like the blonde girl's voice from my vision a few moments ago.

Butch looked at me, something clicking in his mind. "It's her, Boomer. She's back." They came towards me menacingly and I quickly got myself up, jumping off the car and shattering the glass by doing so. I took a heavy breath and ran away from the car.

Butch appeared in front of me, his eyes dark. "You wreck my car and think I'd let you off? Besides, we have a score to settle."

"What are you talking about?" I shouted. "You're crazy!" I kicked Butch in the groin and Boomer in the shin. It wasn't very effective but they were both angered even more.

"Bad move…" Butch growled. He hit me and sent me to the ground, then flung me towards a building. I felt my head crash into the glass and felt dizzy. I had gotten into fights before- all of which I had won- but never this dangerous.

"Why are you doing this?" I said helplessly.

"Don't you get it?" Boomer asked, a one of curiosity and confusion hidden under his malicious voice. "Since your sissy sisters aren't here you're a perfect target." "Sisters…?" I asked, dazed.

I felt blood gush out of a wound on my head.

"Ugh, Bubbles it's like you get dumber by the years." Boomer scoffed. "Bubbles…?" I felt my world fading as it got harder to speak and stay conscious. I couldn't go on and everything went black.

-Buttercup-

"Brianna…?" Alicia whispered.

"Yes, I'm Ace." Ace said in a New York accent, ignoring Alicia. "What's it to ya?"

I tried speaking and making up an explanation for why I just confronted these thieves, but I was at a loss. "I-I…" I stammered, feeling eyes burning into me.

Ace peered at me through his glasses, trying to analyze me from the distance. "Buttercup…" I winced at the name for some reason, and something clicked.

Tense silence filled the air. "Boys… get her." He said it in such a cool, brisk manner that I didn't realize what was going on until the four other boys pushed Alicia out of their way and ran towards me.

I backed away, unsure. Then, I ran.

I wasn't the most athletic girl ever, but I was running pretty fast. I didn't know these people, but they were criminals and who knows what they'd do with me. They were behind me, but I was losing stamina and they'd catch up soon. C'mon… Think! I mentally chanted. I wasn't fast, but I sure as hell was clever. I had to get away…

There were some alleys, and they all looked the same: garbage cans, a huge dumpster, and a pretty high fence. An idea formed in my head.

"Come and get me you green freaks of nature!" I screamed, and with a burst of energy charged faster and made a discreet turn into an alley. I didn't stop there, and jumped onto the fence, climbing it and then getting down as quick as I could. I scrambled out of the alley and out of view. I turned to see the four boys standing outside the entrance, dumbfounded.

"I thought I saw her go down here!" The short one exclaimed.

"Well she's obviously not here!" Another one said, enunciating the 's'.

They argued until they decided to meet up with Ace back at the dump. The foursome left and I let out a deep breath I didn't even realize I was holding.

I sunk down to the ground and tried to catch my breath, exhausted.

"So Buttercup, what took you so long to come back to town?" I looked up and I felt like throwing up. It was Ace.

"What? I-I thought…"

"Not as clever as you think, princess." Ace chuckled and before I could respond, he hit me across the head and I went under.

A/N: There ya go! A lot happened in this chapter, and hopefully you got a sense of the girls and their 'new' personalities. A few people pointed out the different personalities and OOC-ness, and don't worry it's all intended. I'm truly sorry I haven't updated this in like nine months and no I didn't have a baby or anything in the timespan. I've just had writer's block and a lot has been going on, so I hadn't had the chance to get on the site for a while. Hopefully this chapter makes up for it, but just know that I won't be so AWOL like that in the future.

Wow, long author's note. Sorry! Anyways, hopefully you liked that so if you did favorite, follow, and review! Thanks a bunch and I will definitely update the next chapter faster!
