AN: Well, it's been a long while since I updated this…I'm terrible, I know….Anyway, I was going to make this longer but this was what happened and I don't know how to force it to be longer, so I'm just going to leave it as is.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Tonks closed her eyes and tried taking deep breaths to calm her shaking nerves. Of course, that didn't help. She was far too upset and ticked off. She was always easily annoyed when the matter at hand came up. Nothing she said would change anything. It was the same thing – day in, day out – and she didn't want to hear it anymore.

"I am so sick and tired of all these excuses, Remus!" Tonks shouted at him. She could only image what her hair was doing at the moment.

"It's just the truth, Dora," Remus told her, softly, "You have to see it…I'm just far too dangerous, poor and—"

But Tonks cut him off, "I'm an Auror, Remus…I think I can handle dangerous. Bloody hell, my job is dangerous. And what do I care about how much money you have; I have plenty enough." She paused for a moment. "And it's not like you're old enough to be my father."

Tonks walked closer to him, placing her hands on either side of his face, forcing him to look at her. "Can't you see Remus…all these excuses are just wasting both of our times…There's a bloody war going on."

She dropped her hands but continued to glare at him. She couldn't believe that he was being so damn stubborn over the matter.

"We don't know whether or not we're going to make it through this," Remus stated.

Tonks took a breath and crossed her arms. She looked away from him for a moment, gathering strength and momentum.

"That's the point," Tonks said, firmly. "We shouldn't be wasting what little time we may have avoiding how we really feel about each other. It's not going to get us anywhere. I just wished you would let go of your bloody pride long enough to see that."

Tonks quickly left the room without another word or look to him. She walked straight to the front door and out into the night, slamming the door behind her.

She took a deep breath, pulling her cloak tighter around her shoulders against the cool autumn air.

Why was Remus Lupin so bloody stubborn?
