Chapter 3

Beth's POV (Point Of View)

I don't think anyone spoke during Last Meal except to say 'thank you' when the doggen brought the food. The shock of Fritz's leaving was still too raw for that. The servants seemed especially sad and somewhat disorientated. Maya, the new temporary head doggen, was not handling her new role as well as the people of the mansion had hoped, this led to confusion and mistakes, which led to arguments and apologies then sombre silences.

Before everyone left the dinner table, Wrath had tapped his glass (with my aid) using a teaspoon, then proceeded to make his first family toast.

"I want to remind you all that Fritz may have left us, not out of choice might I remind you, but no matter where he is in the physical worlds, he will always be remembered whether he likes it or not by all within his home. Here. We will never forget." With that he raised his glass into the air and said: "To Fritz!" and when everyone had repeated the words, he downed what was left of his champagne.

"You are all excused, both to remember him as you wish and to proceed to your humble abodes as you please."

I took his hand in mine and led him upstairs where we fell into each other and forgot out problems, our worries and everything else except our passion...
