P.S- The song in this chapter [which I don't own] is dedicated to 123456789vampire: ABBA is indeed LIFE! I have the DVD Mamma Mia and I could say that it is the best musical I ever watched. And that is saying something because aside from Hairspray or Into The Woods, I don't watch musicals. So this is for you my ABBA buddy!
Journey To The Emerald Isle: Chapter 3: The Grand Emerald Ball
Erica and Benny handed the administer the two tickets they held in their hands for the Grand Emerald Ball. The administer gave them a nod, therefore they walked right into the great ballroom. Erica picked up her skinny emerald gown as they walked up the steps.
"Wow." Erica said in awe. "Wow is right." Benny answered, his eyes not being able to tear away from the fanciness of the room.
Two swooping stairs were the first things that would catch your eye. They led to the balcony, where people chatted and laughed. If you went down, there is a whole marble floor for dancing. The orchestra stood on the left side of the room, playing a sweet melody. Erica grinned as she saw thousands of people in green, their golden accessories catching Benny's eyes.
"Wow. There are a lot of rich people here. I mean, everyone could afford a golden Rolex watch..." Erica laughed. "Is that really what catches your eye?" She asks in mock disbelief. Benny shrugged. "They are so the second most beautiful things in the room." Erica blushed.
"Aw..thanks Benny." She said, assuming number 1 was her. But Benny dashed past her and to the buffet table.
"Number 1 baby!" He said in excitement. Erica rolled her eyes. "Really?" She asked in sarcasm. Benny kisses her cheek. "You are like, a 1.5" He said jokingly. Erica laughed as Benny began to fill his plate with exotic treats that you probably could only find in Ireland.
"Wow! The selection is grand." Benny said, his mouth half full with some meat. Erica laughed as she leaned in close towards Benny.
All of the sudden, a women decked in a ruby red dress, whacked Benny's butt with a paper fan. Benny yelped as Erica narrowed her eyes at the women.
"Uh, what the hell was that for?" She practically yelled. The women scoffed.
"Your boyfriend. He is hogging all the food for his own disgusting body. A pig is what you brought." The women gave a glare at Benny. People stared around him, making Benny's palms sweat. She growled at Benny.
"Save the food for the guests. What kind of reputation are you trying to give us?!" She says in rudeness, pointing accusingly at Benny. She sashayed off as some of the guests whispered, gossiping about what they just witnessed.
But worst of all must have been Benny, who was of course recovering from the disorder he overcame when Erica had taught him to. But the remark made Benny tear up as he broke through the crowd.
"Benny!" Erica yelled, trying to find the spellmaster. The women in red looked at the blonde vampire sincerely, a wine glass in her hand. Erica then realized that the women was drunk. Erica guessed that's why she dissed Benny. She had too many drinks. Erica looked at her in disbelief.
"Drunk. You, a women fancy of Ireland, drunk? Maybe you should stop consuming alcohol for your disgusting body." She sneered, calling for authorities to get rid of the drunk women. The women gave a death glare at Erica as the blonde vampire dashed away to find the spellmaster.
She heard sobbing coming from the men's washroom. Erica gulped, hoping no one was in there aside from Benny.
Erica found courage as she bust the door open. A man, whom Erica did not know, was currently using the toilet, well, the one men use. Erica stifled her gasp as she tried to sneak her way past him and crawled into the stall that had Benny in it. Luckily, the man did not notice as he walked away.
"Benny." She whispered as she saw the spellmaster, tears down his face. "She was drunk. I literally saw it. I think authorities are getting rid of her." Benny nodded silently as he sobbed.
"Why must Ireland have so much alcohol?" He asked steadily, between tears. Erica rubbed Benny's back. "She didn't mean it. Benny, you are fine." She said assuringly. Benny wiped his tears as he nodded.
"Fine. But I wanna get out of this hell hole as soon as it ends." He said furiously. Erica laughed.
"Of course." She said, linking hands with Benny as they walked out of the stall together, forgetting about the fact Erica shouldn't be in the male's washroom. A dude looked at them in surprise. Erica just shrugged.
"What? I am trying to help a grown man here. Fuck off." Erica said with bravery as Benny laughed the entire way out.
"Dude, the man must have thought you were drunk." Benny said jokingly. Erica laughed as they walked to the dance floor once more. A familiar song played out as Erica dragged Benny for a dance.
The two dance all night long, catching attention of thousands. Everyone seemed to had forgotten the outburst that had happened not so long ago as Benny jived and swung to the music along with Erica. Benny noticed the golden necklace that Erica wore. He frowned as he spun her around.
"Are you sure that thing is safe to be wearing here? What if someone steals it? I don't want to not be in love with you." He said slowly, twirling Erica around as she shrugged.
"I know you don't. But if it do goes missing, I'll know it is just under spell's affect. Plus, what could go wrong in a wonderful place like this?"
Suddenly, Patrick Pechanurel walked onto the stage beside the orchestra. The song ended and the guests clapped. Benny smoothed out his green tux as Erica fiddled nervously with her dress. For some strange reason, they were afraid for what Patrick has to say. But Patrick just grinned.
"Well wasn't that the best?" He said, a daze in his voice. Erica stifled a laugh as Benny nudged her. "Dude. He is so drunk." He whispered. Erica laughed silently as Patrick continued.
"It is time for the crowd to give it a shot! Who wants to siiiiiiinnng!" said Patrick, stretching out the word 'sing'. This made Benny and Erica laughed even harder. Benny stepped forward as Erica gasped.
"I *laugh* volunteer *giggle* as tribute." He said between laughs, Erica in hysterics by now. But no one seemed to notice as Patrick grinned.
"Well me lads and lassies! We got ourself here a wee little brave one! Give it up for me friend Benny Weir!" Patrick said, remembering his name from when they first met. Benny walked up to the mic after saying a few words to the orchestra. He grinned.
"This is for Erica Jones. Loving girlfriend and my best friend. She is awesome, so this one is for her." Erica blushed as Patrick swiped Erica to dance. But Erica rejected him as he trailed his finger on her necklace.
"Fine. But when you need me, I'll be here." He said. Patrick also handed her a mic secretly. Erica took it with confusion as he put a finger on his lips.
"Shhh...you'll need it." He said steadily as he staggered away like the drunk he is. Erica smiled as Benny started, the piano in the background playing.
"I'm nothing special, in fact. I'm a bit of a bore." Erica giggled as Benny sung as he always did.
"If I tell a joke, you probably heard it before." Erica, knowing the lyrics by heart, stepped towards Benny, microphone in hand.
"But I've got a talent" She sung, surprising Benny. "A wonderful thing."
"Because everyone listens when I start to sing!" They sung together, whistling in the background.
"I'm so grateful and proud." Benny sings.
"All I want is to sing it out loud." Erica answers as the orchestra's sound built up.
"So I say THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC!" Benny sang loud and clear.
"The songs I'm singing!" Erica sang back. Benny hopped off the stage as he secretly turned the microphones into compatible headsets. Erica slipped it on as her voice echoed the room along with Benny's. The two wrapped hands around each other and continued to sing.
"Thanks for all the joy they're bringing!" Benny twirls Erica around him as he swoops her down like a pro, catching her.
"Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty! What would life be?!" Erica grinned.
"Without a song, or a dance, what are we?!" The two linked hands as they smiled at the crowd from the middle of the room, the lights shining on them and them alone.
"SO I SAY THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC!" Erica winked. "For giving it to me!" She said as if she were on a stage. The two danced, Benny adjusting his mic wrapped around his ear as he started to sing.
"Mother said I was a dancer, before I could walk" Erica laughed. "She says that I began, to sing long before I could talk..." Erica raised her voice up and down like a pro as Benny continued on for her.
"So I often wondered, how did it all start. Who found that nothing could capture a heart?!" He placed his hand dramatically on his heart as Erica laughed.
"Like a melody can..." Benny pumped his fist in the air, making Erica laugh even harder. "Well whoever it was I'm a fan!" He sung gracefully. Erica swiftly jumped on the stage as she started to sing loud but gracefully.
"So I say thank you for the music! The songs I'm singing! Thanks for all the joy they're bringing!"
"Who can live without it? I ask in all honesty, what could life be? Without a song or a dance, what are we." Benny sang.
"So I sing thank you for the music! For giving it to me!"
The two danced as the piano took over once more.
"I've been so lucky, I am the girl with the golden hair!" She said, brushing her hair. Benny laughed.
"I wanna sing it out to everybody, what a joy! What a life? What a chance!" He held out the note as they continued to sing.
"So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me"
Everyone clapped as Benny and Erica bowed. They laughed as they shared a kiss.
All of the sudden, the lights shut out. Erica and Benny were consumed by darkness. Lots of people exclaimed out in fear as Erica blindly tried to find Benny.
"Benny?! Benny where are you?!" She cried out. But there was no answer as Erica was muffled by screams. A familiar one rung out as the lights dimmed back. Erica tried to scream for Benny as he eyesight renewed. She fiddled her bare neck as she tried to find Benny.
"Wait.." She murmured. She looked around and the whole room was lacked of gold as it was when the ball started. Erica gasped as she felt her bare neck. She almost screamed.
Her magical necklace was gone.
And so was Benny.
A/N- That was my favorite chapter by far! Whoo!
Anywhoo, what happened to Benny or the necklace? Is Erica overreacting? And who loved that song! Thank You For The Music by ABBA is one of my favourites in the ABBA soundtracks. I hope you take the time to listen to it ;)
So drop a review, smile, and have a awesome life.
