Levy made her way to the library, yawning as she went. "I guess last nights sleeplessness is finally getting to me. Stupid Gajeel." She walked through the double door and gave a small smile and nod to the librarian. The library had always been her favorite place on campus. Being surrounded by the books, the smell of paper and ink, the rhythm of tapping at keyboards and turning pages.. If she was ever missing, you could always find her in a chair curled up with a good book.
Levy noticed that the library seemed quieter than usual. "Oh, everyone's probably getting ready for the party." She would choose the library over the F-Tail frat house anyways. Too many fights and too much drinking for her taste. She found a fluffy looking chair and pulled a book out of her pile preparing for a nice few hours of quiet reading when she felt her phone buzz. It was Lucy, so Levy quickly opened up the text. "Gajeel is here! He's stalking around like an animal hunting prey. I wonder if he's looking for you! Do you want me to ask?" Levy bit her lip, contemplating. "What if he is looking for me? Why would he be looking for me though?" The phone buzzed again, "He walked through once and left, I bet he was looking for you!" She let out a sigh and sank into the chair. "Was he looking for me? He couldn't have been... It's not like we're friends. Right?" Levy flipped to her spot in the book and started reading, letting her thoughts go with her book.
She yawned as she finished the book, cursing herself as she checked the time on her phone. "2 AM?! Thankfully it's Friday." As she started to gather her things she heard footsteps coming toward her. "Who could that be? There's hardly ever anyone in here this late other than me." Levy took a deep breath as the footsteps got closer and quickly grabbed all of her belongings, ready to rush off if she needed too. The steps stopped right behind her chair, she could feel her blood pounding in her ears. Levy took another deep steady breath and turned in her chair, only to be face to stomach with Gajeel.
"G-GAJEEL!" He smirked down at her, having noticed her shaky breaths as he walked beind her. "You alright, Shrimp?"
"I-I'm okay.. Why would you scare me like that?!"
"Gihihi, I couldn't resist."
"Hmph, jerk." She mumbled as she puffed out her cheeks at him. Gajeel then proceeded to reach down, squeezing the air from her cheeks. "Gihihi." Levy blushed and pulled her face away, and stood with her pile of books. "So, why are you here so late Gajeel? I thought you would be at the party like everyone else."
"I ain't into crowds besides, I had no reason to stay if I had no one to talk to."
"I thought you were Natsu's friend?" He gave a disgusted grunt.
"Like I would be friends with that idiot. Just because we share a frat does not make us friends."
"You still didn't answer my first question. Why are you here this late?" Levy noticed a slight blush and smiled as she watched his nose crinkle. "He's so cute~" Gajeel grunted and scratched the back of his head. "I uh.. asked Lucy why you weren't at the party."
"I see.. So you came here because..?"
"Well, she said you'd be here."
"Yeah, but why did you come?" He just gave his usual grunt and shook his head.
"Ya want me to walk you home again?" Levy gave a sigh.
"Sure.." She didn't even bother to hide the disappointment in her voice
