Quinn casually walked through the front door, swinging it closed using her foot. She shrugged her bag off her shoulder and proceeded to remove her shoes.

"Quinnie?" Quinn's mother shouted from the living room. Her happy tone seemed forced, a sign that always worried Quinn.

"Yeah?"

"Can you come in here a second? It's important."

Now Quinn was really curious. With a concerned expression, she pulled her jacket off her shoulders and cautiously entered the living room. Once she entered, her expression changed from concern to anger, in a matter of seconds.

Her father sat on the sofa, hair gelled perfectly, $1500 suit without a single crease. He shot her a warm smile, as though him sitting there was the most normal thing in the world.

"Hey Quinnie," He said, smiling at the sight of his daughter.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Quinn muttered through gritted teeth, her cold eyes lingering on him.

"Now Quinn, don't talk to your father li-" Her mother started.

"My father? That's a right laugh. How can you even sit here with him? Don't you remember what state you were in after he abandoned us?"

"I've come to apologise about that Quinnie. That was the biggest mistake of my life. Leaving you and your mother was unforgivable. But I'm hoping you'll give me another chance."

"Mom was diagnosed with severe depression. Do you know how hard it is for a fourteen year old girl to take care of herself and her mother? Does it even bother you that I had to tell everyone that my scumbag father had an affair and left us?"

"Things have changed Quinn. He's different now." Quinn's mother walked over to her dad and took a seat next to him.

"I don't care. He's still the same douchebaggy dad to me. Do you know how many birthdays you missed? How many Christmases? My birthday wish every year was that you'd come home. You didn't even send a card."

"I know, I'm sorry about that. So, to make it up to you…" Russel's voice trailed off as he pulled a bag from around the sofa. "I got you something I think you'll like." He grinned as he stood up and handed Quinn the bag. She looked at him in disgust.

"You really think you can buy me back?" She snorted and looked briefly at the Ipad inside the bag. She pulled it out and tossed it in her hands. Her anger fuelled, and with no control over what she was doing, she threw the Ipad at the wall.

"Quinn! Your father spent a lot of money on that!" Quinn's mother shrieked, jumping to her feet.

Ignoring her mother's cries, Quinn pulled a small, gold heart necklace out of the bottom of the bag and opened it. Inside sat a picture of Quinn, her mother, and her father. It was Quinn's favourite picture of them three, up until her father left.

"If you two wanna be a family again, fine. Just don't expect me to stay part of this family." She threw the necklace at her dad, and turned around to the door. "You walked out on me three years ago, so I'm gonna do the same to you." And with that, Quinn stormed out of the house.
