'Devil Went Down to Georgia' and 'Devil Comes Back to Georgia' belong to the Charlie Daniels Band

It had been ten years since the Devil laid his fiddle at Luigi's feet. It burned in his mind how he suffered that defeat. In the darkest pits of Hell he hatched an evil plan. He would tempt the fiddle player, for he's just a mortal man. He'd go back and challenge Luigi a second time, but he would find a way to raise the stakes. The Devil went to the Mushroom Kingdom and walked to Luigi's mansion.

"Get out here!" the Devil yelled "I'm here to challenge you again!"

Luigi walked out and said "I thought we had this settled, I'm the best there's ever been."

The Devil smiled and said "did you ever hear that time keeps marching on? The darkest hour is the one just before the dawn."

"I haven't played much since I got married back in June" Luigi said.

"Married?" The Devil asked smiling.

"Yeah" Luigi said "I got married. What about it?"

The Devil smiled as roots from nearby plants began to rise from the ground and form strange creatures again. The creatures ran toward Luigi's mansion. He tried to stop them, but they shoved them down and ran inside. They came back out dragging Daisy with them. They dragged her to the Devil. Daisy yanked her left arm free and elbowed one of the creatures. She grabbed the creature holding her right arm by the neck and pulled it off her arm, then she threw it down. Suddenly more roots came up and wrapped around her ankles and pulled her legs out from under her, causing her to fall. She pushed herself up to her knees. Suddenly, two more roots shot up and grabbed her wrists and pulled them down tightly; forcing her arms down by her sides. She pulled against the roots with all of her strength, but she couldn't break free.

"Wow" the Devil said "you got yourself a feisty one, didn't you? Now, we will have a second contest and this time, the lovely lady will be the prize."

"She is not just a prize!" Luigi yelled.

"If you don't want a rematch, I'll just leave" The Devil said.

He turned to leave as the roots began pulling Daisy down into the ground. She looked at Luigi with terror in her eyes.

"Fine!" Luigi yelled.

The Devil stopped and turned around smiling.

Luigi glared at him and said "give me half a minute and I'll get my fiddle back in tune."

He went into the mansion and came back out a few minutes later with the golden fiddle.

The Devil smiled and said "at least I'll get one of my golden fiddles back."

"One of them?" Luigi asked.

"Yes" the Devil said "I lost another one to a boy named Johnny in Georgia."

"Alright then" Luigi said "and before we play I want to thank you for letting God's own Word ring true. He said you couldn't be trusted."

"Well what are you gonna do?" The Devil asked.

"Well, get your fiddle Devil if you think you can win. I beat you once and I'll kick your butt again."

The Devil held his hands out as flames erupted from them. When the fires died down he had a fiddle in one hand and a bow in the other. He put the fiddle to his neck and began to play as instruments formed in the hands of the tree root demons and they joined in. The Devil played for almost five minutes before he lowered his fiddle. He smiled at Luigi and bowed.

He stood up and said "well?"

"Not bad" Luigi said "but not good enough."

He raised his fiddle and sang "Devil's mad and full of strife" He played and sang "now he thinks he can take my wife" he played more and sang "with a great talent I've been blessed" he played again and sang "Devil, you're still just second best."

He played as hard as he could.

As he played, Daisy began to sing "Devil thought this was his the day, then my husband started to play. Devil thought that he could win, but Luigi's the best there's ever been."

Luigi played for four minutes before he lowered his fiddle and smiled. The Devil threw his fiddle down in frustration. The roots around Daisy's wrists and ankles released her and sank back into the ground. She stood up and ran to Luigi and almost tackled him in a hug.

Luigi whispered something in her ear.

She smiled and nodded. Luigi began playing.

Daisy started dancing to the music and sang "ghosts in the mansion, run boys run. Bowser's in the castle with the rising sun. Koopa's in the pasta picking out meat."

She turned to Luigi and nodded.

He kept playing while in unison they sang "face it Devil you've been beat."

The Devil clenched his fists and stormed away. Luigi played and Daisy danced until the Devil was out of sight. As he walked, the Devil saw Mario and Peach having a picnic. A wicked grin crept across his face.

"Third time's the charm" he said to himself.
