A/N: I'm so honored that all of you have taken the time to read and review this story. Thank you to my beta, CountessCora, for all of her hard work. And a special thank you to AllAboutTheAbbey for helping me figure out exactly how to end this story. Your help was invaluable!

Robert smiled down at his mother as they danced together, a rarity during the last several Servants' Balls. Violet didn't dance very often as her traditional partner should have been Bates who, unfortunately, was unable to dance. The Dowager spent most of her time occupying her seat at one of the many tables set up in the Hall. However, as Cora had been occupied by one dance partner after another throughout the evening-and since he had already danced with most of the female staff himself-he decided that a dance with his mother was long overdue.

He glanced over her shoulder, smiling as he caught sight of his wife who was currently dancing with young George. He couldn't help but chuckle at the look on his grandson's face. George was taking the task of dancing with grandmother quite seriously. He was quite the little gentleman.

"Oh, for heaven's sake, Robert," Violet huffed, bringing Robert out of his reverie. "Go and dance with your wife. You've been eyeing her all evening. You'd think you were still newlyweds the way you two act around one another."

"She makes me very happy, Mama," Robert countered. "I'll not apologize for loving my wife."

"Nor do I want you to, my dear," Violet said, patting his arm. "Just don't make it quite so obvious. We are in public, after all."

Robert kissed his mother's cheek before making his way across the room to where Cora now stood with his back toward him. Coming up behind her, he whispered in her ear. "There's a certain young lady I've been wanting to dance with all evening. I wonder if you know where I could find her."

"Hmm," Cora hummed as she turned her head slightly, her lips twitching with the effort of keeping her smile to herself. "What does she look like?"

"She's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," Robert offered, resting his hand on the small of Cora's back as he observed a blush beginning to stain her cheeks. "She has crystal clear blue eyes, a dazzling smile, and is more beautiful to me now than the first time I laid eyes on her."

Cora couldn't seem to cool the grin that spread across her face at her husband's words. "Robert," she whispered.

Robert came around and held his hand out to her. "Lady Grantham, would you do me the great honor of dancing this next waltz with me? That is, if your dance card isn't full already."

Cora couldn't help the delighted laugh that escaped her as her husband repeated the same words he had spoken the night they met. Placing her hand in his, she answered with a smile, "No, it isn't. And I would be delighted, Lord Grantham."

He led her onto the dance floor, and placed his arm around her. He gave a nod to the band leader who, to Cora's shock and delight, began to play the opening chords of "The Sleeping Beauty" waltz. As they began to dance, Robert smiled lovingly at his wife, whose face was glowing with a brilliant smile while her eyes glistened with unshed tears.

"Robert," she breathed, "how on earth…?"

"…did the band know to play this song?" Robert finished her thought. "I asked him while you were busy dancing with Molesley. From the moment you walked down the stairs, I've been thinking about that very first ball. And, I meant what I said a moment ago. You're more beautiful to me now than you were then."

Cora shook her head. "I don't see how. A lot has happened in the thirty-seven years since that night."

Gripping her hand more tightly in his, he nodded. "You're right. That night all those years ago, I became infatuated with a woman of extraordinary beauty. But, the woman who dances with me now is so much more than that. She is still a woman of extraordinary beauty; but, she is also my wife, the mother of my children, and the love of my life. And, she still fits perfectly in my arms."

Cora blinked back tears as her left hand moved from Robert's shoulder to caress his cheek. "I knew the moment I saw you that you were the only man I would ever love. And, I thank God that I still have you."

"Always," he whispered, closing the gap between them. "You'll always have me."

As his lips hovered close to hers, Cora smiled knowingly. "If you do what I think you're about to do, we're in for a telling-off from Mama."

Before capturing her lips with his, Robert shrugged slightly. "So be it."

Cora smiled against his lips, momentarily losing herself in the feeling of his mouth upon hers. As they broke apart, they both spared a glance to the side of the room to which Violet merely shook her head and smiled. They laughed quietly, both blushing slightly at the realization that their public display of affection had been witnessed not only by the Dowager, but by the rest of the room as well.

Robert took Cora by the hand and led her to a more secluded place away from the festivities of the evening. "Thank you for asking the band to play that song, darling," Cora said as she laced their fingers together. "It brought back wonderful memories."

"You've given me a lifetime of wonderful memories, Cora," Robert said as he turned toward her, cupping her cheek with his hand and running his thumb along her cheek bone. "I love you so very much; I hope you know that."

"Oh, Robert," Cora sighed as she placed her hand atop his. "My love, everyday with you is full of unforgettable moments, and I pray we have many more ahead of us."

Unforgettable, that's what you are

Unforgettable, though near or far

Like a song of love that clings to me

How the thought of you does things to me

Never before has someone been more

Unforgettable, in every way

And forever more, that's how you'll stay

That's why, darling, it's incredible

That someone so unforgettable

Thinks that I am unforgettable, too.
