Vamp promise 3

Sorry it takes me so long to update every time. I am very busy and having a hard time finding ideas to lead up to when Jellal be becomes a vampire. I have most of the plot figured for after he turns though.

Disclaimer: I don't own Fairytail or it's characters.

Warning: violence, minor gore, language, OC's, and Xavier. ( He is a vampire with a messed up personality. I love him and he will have many appearances in this story.)

Enjoy! :)

Chapter 3 :Confrontation

Jellal's pov

Screech! I woke up to the yelling of a messenger falcon. As I hurriedly climbed out of bed and walked toward the noisy bird to grab the message I attempted to rub the sleep out of my eyes. I grabbed the letter from its bag and glanced at the clock as I opened it.
4:30 am. Ugh. The words in an old fashioned swirling hand writing sent chills down my spine.

"You wizards will never win and you my blue haired friend shall become a brother of the night. "
- Xavier

Who was this Xavier? I figured he was a vampire from the first part of the short but chilling message. The second part made me nervous. Did it mean that I was being targeted? Targeted to be made into a vampire? I shook my head to chase the thoughts away but without success. The words on the little piece of paper were imprinted in my mind. I burned the message using magic. I didn't want anyone to find out about it. I got ready for the battle and headed downstairs for breakfast.

Erza's pov

I watched Jellal worriedly during breakfast. He kept spacing out, shaking his head and glancing out the windows. I figured he was nervous for the battle but I had a gut feeling it was something else. I decided to talk to him before we left to fight.

Mira's pov
Erza keeps staring at Jellal. He is acting strange and Erza seems worried. Those two are perfect for each other. I started daydreaming about weddings, red haired babies with hazel eyes, blue haired babies with brown eyes, and omg! Purple haired babies would be so cute!

Jellal's pov

I knew that Erza was worried about me so I tried to smile at her reassuringly. She didn't seem convinced. In fact she looked more worried. I noticed that behind Erza Mira was in another world drooling and smiling creepily. She was probably imaging possible couples again. Oh brother.

(Later... )**************************************************

Erza's pov

I walked up to Jellal as we were gearing up to go fight.
"What is wrong Jellal? You have been acting strange all morning. Did something happen?"
He wouldn't look me in the eyes and I knew something was definitely wrong. "Jellal?" I tried again. He took a deep breath.

"Can I talk to you about it after the battle? It's a little complicated and I have to get my thoughts together." He was pleading with his eyes. I nodded and he looked relieved.
"Promise me we will talk about this later?" I asked him.
"I promise." He said smiling.
We told each other good luck and left to join our respective teams. I was in the north unit wave 2 and Jellal was in the north unit wave 1. I was worried for him. Soon it was time to leave.

Jellal's pov

I sat crouched behind a bush overlooking the vampire hideout. It was an old abandon warehouse. I watched for the signal to charge. I heard a low whistling noise that started out constant and low but hitched at the end on a sharp note. The signal. I let out a battle cry and charged. Instantly vampires spilled out from the entrance. I swung my sword into one as he ran past me. I quickly was absorbed into the fray. All I was aware of was the clashing of swords, thuds, and screams. The soundtrack of war. I was slammed from behind and pinned. The vampire shoved his knee into my shoulder blades and had one of my arms pinned with a foot and the other yanked behind me. I felt fangs graze my neck. Instead of biting me though he whispered in my ear.
"I warned you. Didn't you even read the note? Your allies will fail. They will all perish. And you shall become one of us. Sadly though, not yet. Thirren wishes to wait."
I heard Erza call my name. The second wave had arrived.

Xavier squeezed the wrist he was holding.
"She's a beauty. Let me guess. You love that woman don't you? Would she still care if I bit your neck?"He snickered. At this I couldn't help but grow angry.
"Shut up!" I yelled trying to get free. I pushed back trying to force him to let go and only got my face shoved into the ground. Ouch that hurt .
"Don't test me Jellal." He exaggerated my name seeming pleased that he now knew it.
"Get the hell off of me!"I yelled. I turned my head and bit his arm out of desperation.
He startled in surprise and leaped back. I kicked him away. I noticed he had toxic green hair and brown eyes. He smirked at me and I glared causing him to laugh.
"You are an interesting human. You actually bit me. You will make a good vampire." He stated. At this I charged and shoved him against the side of a tree.
"I will NEVER be one of you!" I screamed punching him, making both him and the tree fall. I smirked as he sat on the ground holding his now bloody and broken nose and staring at me in shock. He suddenly started laughing hysterically. After seeing my confused face he only laughed harder.

"You actually broke my nose! I never knew a human could be strong enough to do that. Ouch it hurts! You should see the look on your face! Priceless!" He rambled on and on causing everyone both human and vampire to look at him like he was crazy.
I could only reply a confused "Huh?".
Suddenly he stopped laughing and stared at something behind me.
"Thirren!" He exclaimed. I turned around to find the coven's leader watching us. She walked up to us and I backed up until I was next to Xavier. Given the situation he seemed less of a threat.

"I see you two have met . Relax Mage I will not hurt you." She said glancing at me as I was reaching for my sword. I noticed my guild mates were watching the exchange worriedly. In their eyes they saw me between the leader of the vampires and one of her soldiers with no escape route. Crap I really was screwed.

"His name's Jellal." Xavier piped up. I glared at him.
"Shut up Xavier or I will break more than just your nose." He quickly shut his mouth making a gesture like he was locking his lips and throwing the key away. Good. He seemed please though that I knew he was the one who sent the note. Idiot.

"You broke his nose?" Thirren asked me looking shocked. I didn't blame her. Vampires where tough. It was considered impossible for a human to break any of their bones bare handedly. I nodded and to my surprise she smiled. I stepped back.
"You will make a fine vampire." She said. After hearing this for the third or so time this week I snapped. I tripped her and pinned her down on her stomach.
"I have no plans of becoming one of you so get it out of your head!" I exclaimed. I said it a little to loudly as my guild and everyone else heard me. They turned to glance in our direction. As the vampires saw their leader pinned by a human they rushed to her rescue.
Shit. I was so dead. I leaped back to avoid getting tackled and took off like hell was at my heels. Which in a sense it was. I noticed Xavier was next to me and as I tried to turn away he grabbed me and teleported us somewhere.
The next thing I knew we where on a cliff overlooking the forest. I could just barely make out the warehouse. I turned around. Xavier was lying down with his hands behind his head I rolled my eyes. I have realized that he wasn't a huge threat except for the fact he wants me to become a vampire.
"Thanks." I said and he smiled.
"I figured you wouldn't want to be mauled." He joked.
"Yeah, it's not really my favorite hobby." I shrugged my shoulders. We both started laughing. I stopped and glanced at him.
"What?" He asked.
"Why do you guys want me to become a vampire? I get the whole safety in numbers thing but you have a large coven and it seems I am the only one being targeted." He frowned.
"Your not being targeted. Yeah you may be the only one we are trying to turn but it's because your different. You are more in tune with your natural instincts than most people. This makes you able to survive when others can't because you do everything possible to live no matter what. It also makes you able to use your muscles and magic in ways others can't it makes you stronger. ( I don't know if this is actually true but just go with it.) We have been watching you. When we heard that someone survived absorbing themselves into etheirnano from an etherion blast we figured it was someone like you. Even just now you bit me. A regular human would not have. As well as the fact that you were able to break my nose with a single punch also proves this. Do you get it? You are special. These traits would make you an extremely powerful vampire. You would probably be able to use demon magic which only really strong vampires can." Xavier finished his explanation.

"I guess I understand. So you want me as a vampire since I am more in tune with my natural instincts and it will make your coven more powerful." I summed it up and he nodded.
"Just like you we want to be stronger as a whole so we can protect our coven and not lose each other." I nodded in understanding. I noticed the battle was over. It looked like both sides were retreating to prevent further losses. I remembered the murders which made us come here.
"Why did your coven murder innocent people?" I asked. He looked sad.
"We usually stick to blood bags or an occasional animal but a newborn lost control and killed those humans so we had to kill him. He explained. I frowned.
"That sucks." I said. He nodded.
"I should probably go." I said gesturing to the setting sun. He nodded. I left waving.

Later...***********************************************

Erza's pov

I was so scared. The last time I saw Jellal he was pinned under a green haired vampire. Commander Charles looked at me sympathetically as he got everyone's attention.
"Today we suffered many losses." He listed off the names, including Jellal's. "The battle was a tie. I know we all need rest but I want ask Fairytail something. What did Jellal mean when he said "I will never become one of you?" We all glanced at each other. Master looked at me as did everyone.
"I don't know but he said he wanted to talk to me about something after the battle." I took a shaky breath. Charles opened his mouth when suddenly the door opened. Through the rain that had started as we retreated I could make out a figure. Everyone got into battle positions.

Jellal's pov

I walked inside to see everyone pointing weapons at me.
"Wow! Calm down it's just me!" They still didn't lower their weapons. Realization dawned on me.
"I didn't get bit! I swear!" I exclaimed holding my hands up in surrender.
"How is that possible?" Charles asked. "You where trapped between the leader and another vampire. How could you not get bit!?" He exclaimed. Other people nodded their heads.
A doctor came up and checked me.
"He didn't get bit." He stated. Everyone was shocked.
"Explain." Erza said. "And what did you mean by I won't become one of you?" She added. Everyone stared at me.
Oh boy. I took a deep breath.

"I got a note last night via messenger falcon from some guy from Xavier saying how we would not win against the, and that I would become a vampire. Today he was the green haired vampire that pinned me down. After I managed to knock him down Thirren appeared. Apparently they want to turn me but not yet. I don't know what their waiting for but after Thirren said that I would turn I snapped and that's when you all heard me. I ran to escape the charging vampires and Xavier teleported us to a cliff above the warehouse. He explained that they wanted to make me a vampire since I am supposedly more in tune with my instincts which somehow would make me a super powerful vampire. At least that's what they think. I honestly don't really get it. Oh also when I asked Xavier said that the murders were accidental and that their coven hunts animals or uses blood bags but a newborn list control and murdered those people and because of that the rest of the coven killed him to prevent more deaths." I sighed.

Everyone was staring mouths open wide.
"Ok. That is very useful info but since this coven has still murdered someone we will still carry on the mission and you will be perfect bait, but don't worry though we won't actually let them get you." Charles said. Everyone in Fairytail as well as the other guilds was protesting. No one wanted to continue the mission or use me as bait.

"SHUT UP! We will do this or you will all be trailed for treason and working with the vampires!" Commander Charles yelled. "Now everyone off to bed. We will come up with a new strategy tomorrow!" He added. Everyone ran off.

Erza came up to me." Is that what you where going to tell me about?" I nodded. "I don't like this. If it was one person I don't think the entire coven should pay for it and I don't like using you as bait." She added.
"I don't like it either but going back to prison sounds worse." I smiled as she chuckled. We headed to our separate rooms.

As I lay in bed I heard the window creak. I could have sworn I closed it . Suddenly I saw someone in the corner.

I screamed as the figure stepped forward and I could tell who it was

"XAVIER! WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE?! YOU FREAKING IDIOT!"
