For those of you who still bother to follow my work have probably already seen what has become of my first story. You probably think where as I have discontinued that, I most likely will do the same for this one. And, in all honesty, I have no idea as to what I'm going to do.
What made Naruto so much fun for me, as a fanfiction author, was that with chakra, the possibilities were seemingly endless. Just because the show never did it, doesn't mean it isn't possible. And I wanted to try my hand at something that few had done at that point (that I had seen) but many have done now. And that is, take a Naruto (obviously more of an OC than actually Naruto, but fanfiction!) from the past, one that has experienced war, and put him in the 'present' timeline. I had seen him being the son of the first hokage, son of Madara, or even an ancient Uzumaki. But, I had yet to see him being the son of the 2ND.
Some of you hated it, others loved it. The main reason why I stopped writing for my Naruto stories, as at one point I had multiple, was that I had become bored with it. To quote Sinestro (Incredibles): "When everyone is super, no one will be". With all the possibilities with Naruto, I read fanfic after fanfic, story after story, idea after idea. But, the more I read, the staler it became. Time-travel? Read it, like, a hundred times. Special bloodline? Seen it. Wrong 'chosen one'? Who hasn't?!
It's just become dull to me. And as I have matured, I've come to realize that I don't like Naruto very much. Sure the characters are memorable. The story is expansive. And the messages it tries to portray are good ones. But, the main characters didn't develop as at least I think they should've. Naruto wants to save Sasuke even though Sasuke shoved a lightning coated hand in his chest because he can understand the loneliness and the bond they have is almost like that of brothers. Look, I have a brother that I love, but if he did that to me and I survived! All bets are off. My brother would have to do something frankly pretty amazing for me to forgive him, but I would never trust him again. Sasuke on the other hand, never does unless doing so allowed him to continue his vengeance and/or survive. Or as I like to say, the plot demands it. But, I digress.
I honestly do want to continue the story, I just don't think I have it in me anymore to continue. Therefore this is under permanent hiatus until I can make a final decision on it. Don't hold your breath.
As for my non-Naruto stories, I will be continuing those.
