Chapter 3:
Confrontations
A few days later Wanda had just gotten home. Cosmo wasn't there yet, she wasn't sure where he was. She remembered him saying he was going to help his friend Jeff find gift for Dana to make up for a fight they had. She hoped he wasn't planning on spending time with Tamara today too.
She went to the kitchen to grab a snack and found a sticky note on the refrigerator. It said "Have a good day baby. I love you!"
It made her smile. She and Cosmo were always leaving little notes like this around the house for each other.
Before she could settle down and watch her favorite show the doorbell rang. She flew over to get it and was surprised to find Tamara there.
"What are you doing here?" she said a bit harsher than she intended to.
Tamara's face quickly morphed into a glare. "Cosmo and I are going to the arcade."
"Well he's not home."
"Can I come in? He said he'd be home in a few minutes."
Wanda studied her for a moment. Today she wore a lavender dress that came mid thigh and a denim jacket. Still way too fancy to go to the arcade. She was trying to impress him, Wanda just knew it.
She also knew she was overreacting. Wanda went places with guy friends all the time. It shouldn't matter that Cosmo wanted to spend time with a friend...right?
"Fine," she said reluctantly.
Tamara flew into the house and Wanda led her to the living room
"So you're going to the arcade, huh?" Wanda said sitting on the couch across from her.
"Oh yeah, Cosmo and I used to play pinball together all the time when we were kids. Cosmo loves pinball."
Wanda crossed her arms. Was this girl serious? "Yes, I'm his wife, I know that?"
"Did you know that he fell out of a tree when we were seven and…"
"And he broke his arm," Wanda finished for her. "I know that too. I've been with Cosmo for 300 years, you'd be hard pressed to find something I don't know about him."
"You don't deserve him!" Tamara finally snapped.
Now Wanda was mad. "Oh really? Where were you all this time, huh?! You could have reconnected with him at any time but you didn't so he fell in love with me and you can't handle it! Give it up! He doesn't want you!"
"Then why is he spending so much time with me then?! It's because he wa to me more than you and you know it!"
That pushed her over the edge. "Get the hell out of my house!"
Tamara stood up. "I'm going to be with Cosmo, just you wait and see!"
Cosmo didn't come home until that evening. When he got home he found Wanda sitting on the living room couch in her pajamas. "Hey honey." He noticed that she looked mad. "What's wrong?"
"Where were you?"
"Tamara and I just left the arcade," he replied innocently. "I walked her home."
Wanda glared at him. "You walked her home?!"
"Yes...why are you so upset?"
"So you just walked her home, that's all that happened?"
"Yeah…" He suddenly realized what she meant. "Wanda, why would I do that?!" He sat down next to her. "You want to tell me what's bothering you?"
She sighed, she was starting to be ridiculous and she knew it. Her conversation with Tamara today had left her feeling heated. She shouldn't be angry with him, she trusted him.
"I just...wanted to make sure," she finally said.
He wrapped his arms around her in a warm embrace. "You worry too much snookie," he said kissing her cheek. He kissed down to her neck. "I've been out all day and I think it's about time we relaxed together," he said in a sensual tone. "What do you think we should do?"
She couldn't help but smile. This was why she had to trust Cosmo, he was always so good to her. She placed a kiss on his lips and have him a seductive look. "I can think of a few things," she said running her hands down his chest.
He picked her up bridal style and she giggled. Then he flew them upstairs to their bedroom.
