Wow! Almost two months since my last update... I'm sooo sorry! But here's chapter 3! Hope you enjoy it :)
I don't own OUAT
"What are you doing, boy?" the tailor asked when he saw Killian sewing a black suit.
"I'm trying to enlarge my old suit. It doesn't fit me anymore" he answered without turning to his Master.
"For the Full Moon's Festival?" Killian nodded "Don't you need a date to go there?"
"Who says I don't have one?" he said looking up. The older man raised an eyebrow.
"You do?"
"Yup" the tailor brought a hand to his chin to think. After a short moment, the man said with an impish smirk
"Regina?" Killian smiled.
"Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!"
"You don't miss a chance to see that girl, do you?"
Killian gave him a look and the man chuckled.
After a while, Killian finished fixing his suit and tried it on. It fitted him perfectly
"Hey, do you think she'll have any nice clothes?" the tailor asked.
"No, I don't think so…"
"When did she say she'll see you?"
"7 o'clock" he said "Why?"
"Bring her here before going to the festival. I may have something for her to wear"
"You want me to bring her here just to lend her clothes?"
"That, and to meet my future daughter in law, and before you say anything, I said 'daughter in law' because you're like a son to me" Killian shook his head
"I'm glad you consider me as your son, but I don't think your 'future daughter in law' likes me…" he said looking down
"I thought you were smarter than that…" the man said disappointed. Killian gave him a puzzled look "How can you say such a stupid thing? It's more than clear that this girl likes you!"
"How can you say that if you don't know her?"
"Why would she accept your invitation, then?" he smiled when Killian didn't say anything "I'm going to get some bread since some dogs, as you said, ate the one you were supposed to bring yesterday…"
When the older man left, Killian started laughed. He knew that wasn't the reason why he didn't get the bread.
"Are you alright, child?" Mal asked Regina. It was 1pm. The young Princess spent all the morning in her room sitting by the window, holding a red flower and staring down at the village with a dreamy smile.
"Mm?" she turned to the older woman "Did you say something?"
Mal chuckled and sat next to her.
"Yes, I asked you if you were alright, because you haven't left your room in all morning"
"Fine, Nana" she turned back to the village and smiled again "I'm… fine"
She leaned her head against the window and sighed.
"Are you sure? You look a little nervous, dear…"
Regina turned back to Mal and whispered
"If I tell you a secret, would you keep it?"
"Of course, dear. I won't tell anyone"
"Do you remember Killian, the tailor's apprentice I told you about?" The woman nodded "He invited me to the Full Moon's Festival tonight"
"The Full Moon's Festival?!"
"Shh! Low your voice, Nana"
"I'm sorry…" she apologized "But it's the Full Moon's Festival we're talking about!"
"What is so exciting about that festival?"
"I think you mean romantic, dear…" she corrected her "You can only go to that festival with a date, and it has to be someone you really care for"
Regina's heart began to race and her cheeks turned red.
"Oh, child! You're blushing!" the woman said chuckling. Regina blushed even more and looked away "You really like him, don't you?"
"I…" she cleared her throat "What is so important about the festival?"
"Never mind…" Mal rolled her eyes at the Regina's sudden change of subject "What did you say to him?"
"I accepted" the woman's eyes grew wide. The Princess tilted her head "Was that wrong?"
"Of course not! That's the best thing you could've done!" the woman said excited "When are you meeting him?"
"7 o'clock" Regina turned back to the village and sighed heavily "But it's too much waiting…"
Mal smiled at the young Princess. If only I knew what's going on in that little head of hers… she thought. She was sure she had something with his boy, and the next thing Regina said confirmed it.
"Nana?"
"What is it, sweetheart?" she asked sweetly. The girl bit her lip and turned to her
"Is it possible to fall in love in a day?" she said, her eyes sparkling. The woman smiled
"Yes. It happens very often…" the girl nodded in understanding, "Why do you ask?"
"Nothing, just curious…"
"Just curious?" Regina nodded hesitantly "Alright. I shall go tell your mother you're not feeling well" The woman stood and walked to the door.
Regina watched the woman go. She looked down at the flower and smelled it. She sighed and turned back to the village.
"I'll see you in 6 hours, Killian…" she said smiling.
Killian looked at the clock on the wall. It was 6.30. He smiled. In only 30 minutes he was going to see Regina. He asked his master if he could go to Mrs. Nolan's shop to buy something for her. The man smiled at him and told him he could go. Killian thanked him and took some money before heading to Mrs. Nolan's flower shop.
He saw no-one when he entered, not even the owner of the place.
"Mrs. Nolan?" he called, walking around the shop. He saw an opened door at the back of the place and walked to it. There were some noises coming from there so he called again "Mrs. Nolan?"
"I'm coming!" the woman said. He smiled and turned to look at some of the flowers.
A woman with pale skin and black long hair appeared with a bunch of daisies. She smiled at seeing him.
"Killian!" she said "It's been so long! How have you been?"
"Better than ever. How are you, Mr. Nolan and Emma?"
"We're fine, thank you" she put the daisies in a vase and turned back to him "So, what can I help you with?"
"I need a flower" he said. The woman chuckled
"You've come to the right place. What were you exactly looking for?"
"A rose, if it's possible, or any flower"
"Well, Emma just went to get roses" the woman said "She'll be back soon. Do you want to come back later or…?"
"No, I'll wait here" he said smiling at her.
"So… who's the lucky girl?" the woman asked
"What?"
"Come on, Killian, you know you don't buy roses for anyone… So, who is she? The blacksmith's daughter?" she asked curiously. Killian shook his head "The carpenter's daughter?" he shook his head again. The woman's eyes grew wide "My daughter?"
"No, no, no!" he quickly said and chuckled at the woman's relieved expression "It's a girl I met at the fair a couple of days ago. I invited her to the Full Moon's Festival"
"And she accepted? Congratulations!" the woman said "What's her name?"
"Regina"
"Regina… What a beautiful name! How is she, how does she look like?"
"She's funny, and she has beautiful, long black hair, a wonderful smile and beautiful, beautiful brown eyes..."
"Killian Jones, are you in love with this girl?"
"Who's in love?" said a voice behind Killian.
When he turned around he saw a blond girl with green eyes about his age, holding a big basket of roses.
"Killian!" she said when he turned. The blonde left the basket on the floor and hugged him
"Hi, Emma. How've you been?" he said hugging her back
"Good" she said when she pulled back. Then she and hit him in the arm.
"Ouch! What was that for?"
"For not coming to say 'hi' in a long time…" she turned to her mother "Hi, mom"
"Hello, sweetheart" the woman said and turned back to him "There are the roses. Pick one you like"
Killian turned back at the flowers and looked at them carefully, one by one. When he spotted one he liked, he smiled and took it.
"This one" he said.
"Really?" the blonde said tilting her head "But it's nothing like the others…"
"Just like her…"
"What do you mean?" the woman asked with a smile, knowing what he was going to say.
"One of a kind"
"Awww... Killian is in love, Killian is in love…" Emma sang.
Killian shook his head and turned to the woman
"How much is it?" he said, bringing a hand to the pocket where the money was.
"Nothing" the woman said smiling "Consider it a gift" Killian smiled,
"Thank you, Mrs. Nolan" he walked to the door and turned to Emma "See you and Bae at the festival…" and before the blonde could answer, he left.
Regina took off her scarf and sat at the fountain where she agreed to meet with Killian. When she passed by a shop, she saw it was 6.30. Only 30 more minutes and she'll see Killian. She was very excited; this was her first date ever. She wanted to see him so badly… It felt like a lifetime since she last saw him- 'Oh, my…' she thought 'Maybe I am in lo-' her thoughts were interrupted by someone clearing their throat. She looked up hoping it was Killian, but she was met by a different pair of blue eyes.
She looked better at the man in front of her. He looked a couple of years older than her and had light brown hair and a smug smile. She didn't like that smile.
"May I help you?" she asked
"I was just passing by and saw you here, alone, and I thought to myself 'a beautiful woman like her shouldn't be all alone' so I came to keep you company" he said with a wink.
Regina eyed him carefully. She may have not experience with guys, but she was sure he was trying to hit on her.
"No need to, I'm waiting for someone"
"Well, then, if you don't mind…" he said sitting next to her "I'll wait here with you"
"Of course…" she said politely and looked around. Where was Killian? She hoped he'd show up soon because she was feeling rather uncomfortable with this man who was staring at her.
After a while, the man spoke
"Do you know today's the Full Moon's Festival?"
"Yes, that's what I came for" she answered
"Do you have a date? Because you can't go without a date"
"Yes, I do have a date. I'm waiting for him" she smiled slightly when she thought about Killian.
"Well, if I see him, I'd tell him he's lucky to have such a beautiful companion" he said with his most charming smile. She rolled her eyes and turned around.
"Can I ask you a question?" the man asked and she turned back to him "If he doesn't show up, would you like to go with me?"
"What?" she asked shaking her head "I don't know you! I don't even know your name and you're already asking me on a date?!"
"Oh, how rude of me…" he said "Most people call me Dan, but my name is…"
"Daniel?"
The Princes turned around to see who had spoken, and smiled at seeing the person she was waiting for.
"Killian!" she said happily standing up. He smiled briefly at her, the turned back his attention to the man.
"What are you doing here?" he asked. Regina sensed something strange in his voice, something like… anger?
"Well, as you see, I'm here with this beautiful woman…" he said gesturing to Regina "Who's waiting for someone"
"Well, as you see" he said mocking him "I'm here, so you can go now"
Daniel laughed and turned to Regina, who raised an eyebrow. The man stopped laughing at Regina's serious expression.
"Oh, you're seriously waiting for him?"
"Yes" she said. Daniel turned back to Killian.
"You are taking her to the festival?!" he asked standing up.
Killian gave him a sided smile and nodded.
"Is there a problem with that?" the Princess asked.
"No, no, not at all…" Daniel said chuckling "I just can't believe the little brat is taking such a stunning woman like you to the festival"
"Don't call him that!"
Daniel chuckled again and approached Regina.
"What would you do then, beautiful?"
Regina wanted to slap him, but Killian pushed the man away and stood in front of her protectively
"Leave her alone" he said. Daniel raised his hands as a sign of understanding "Now leave us"
"Whatever you say, little brat…" he turned to Regina "See you later, beautiful" he winked at her and left.
Killian turned to face Regina.
"Are you alright? What was he doing with you?"
"I'm fine, we were just talking… Who was he?" she asked. Killian sighed.
"He's my brother"
