Case Objective: Find Out Who is stealing from Velvet Rose Sparkle.

Sunset could feel her chest tighten as she saw her. In a purple T-Shirt, with blue booty shorts, and socks that went up to her knees.

"Wow," Detective Shimmer said with a short breath. SciTwi pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose. "Boy, are ya lookin' fine," Sunset said to her friend.

"Thank you. You look great as well, Detective," SciTwi said, her blue eyeliner not failing to compliment her violet eyes. Her red lips were practically glowing in the shade.

"Will ya walk with me, sweetheart?" Sunset asked, holding her arm out. SciTwi blushed slightly and took Sunset's arm, looping them together. SciTwi wasn't used to being nicknamed so often. She got called "Twiley" or "Twi" occasionally, but when a flirty woman in a trench coat she knew in highschool calls her a sweetheart, it was a little bit different.

"Tell me a little 'bout what's happenin' songbird," Sunset said sweetly as she and SciTwi walked down the road.

"Well, as you know, my mother has been getting her bank account drained by some unknown person. We've already tried the police and a private investigator. Nothing has worked so far. I think someone is stealin' from her," SciTwi explained. She looked up at the sky, blinking her eyes in the blinding sun.

"Yes, that's it. That's why I took the night to research your issue. My hunch last night was correct and I managed to trace the hackin' back to Filthy Rich Robotics," Sunset said, with a powerful gleam in her eye.

"Already?" SciTwi said, mustering a look of surprise.

"Yep. It took all night, but it was definitely worth it. Now, we have a ton of leads to investigate," Sunset said, giving Twilight a wink. In front of them was a massive building with the words "Rich Robotics" on the front. SciTwi knew that it was a cheap knockoff of her mother's company. The two buildings looked exactly alike! Just looking at it made her upset.

"How do you usually preform investigations, Detective?" SciTwi asked, with a hint of curiosity.

"Well, it's simple. Just ask around. The thing is, people in this world are quite simple as compared to, let's say, other dimensions I've come across. People are easy to read. Just look for the most suspicious guy acting up, and you'll have caught your culprit," Sunset explained as she and SciTwi stepped into the giant building. A gust of wind from the airconditioning blew past their hair as they stepped past the fragile automatic sliding doors.

"Interesting. What other dimensions have you been to?" SciTwi asked, a spark of interest in her eyes, the spark that Sunset admired.

"Remember Midnight Sparkle? I recently did a case for her. She wanted to know who had been stealing for her. The case took a whole week to crack, but I eventually caught a guard who was trying to frame Daydream Shimmer for it," Sunset explained, feeling their boots click on the marble floor. SciTwi recognized all these names from when she was 15. Midnight had been an alternate version of herself who lived in an AU parallel to her own.

"Well, what happened after that?" SciTwi asked. "And how is Midnight and Daydream by the way?"

"What happened after I solved the case, Midnight actually bought me a special watch that could help me bend my body at will," Sunset said, holding out her wrist to show her completely smashed wristwatch. "Oh... but I damaged it on that helicopter. Now, I've gotta get it fixed. But, Midnight and Daydream are fine. Did you know they're going to get married? I have the invite somewhere at home," Sunset said, her face heating up with embarrassment as she remembered how she had recklessly broke a priceless magical object.

"I think I should be able to fix this for you..." SciTwi said in thought as she looked over the watch. "... No invite for me? I'm shocked!" SciTwi added, with an exaggerated look of distain. Sunset chuckled.

"Don't worry. If you're still around by next month, I can bring you as my guest," Sunset grinned with a gentle hand on her friend's back. Some workers were running around in lab coats, similar to how Velvet's company worked as well.

"It's disturbin' how similar to my mom's company is to this one. Even the janitors are the same," SciTwi observed.

"That's because they are."

SciTwi jumped as she heard the sudden new voice in their conversation. Behind them stood Filthy Rich's daughter, Diamond Tiara Rich. She was looking quite unpleased.

"Hello, Ms. Tiara Rich. It's been awhile," Sunset said as she reached her hand out and shook Diamond's firmly.

"The pleasure's all mine. It's so nice to see you again, Detective. I gotta say, I've grown so much since you last solved that case for me in Canterlot," Diamond said, her pretty blue eyes highlighted by a gently tint of purple eyeliner.

"I am glad to hear that. Say, what was that about the workers bein' the same? Did your father hire off Velvet?" Sunset asked.

"Well, actually, they came on their own. Ever since Ms. Sparkle started losing money, she needed to make budget cuts I think. People started quitting and flocked over here," Diamond explained, casing SciTwi to feel a lurch of nervousness in her stomach.

"Do you know how many cuts?" SciTwi asked, butting into the conversation. Diamond's eyes flickered with recognition as she seemed to remember who SciTwi was.

"I don't know specifically, but a lot. We're pretty sure Velvet's gonna run out of business pretty soon. We feel sorry for her, but it's actually kind of a relief because of how tough she makes business for us," Diamond said, her pink hair bobbing as she moved her head. SciTwi felt her heart sink.

"Oh..." SciTwi muttered, pushing her glasses up her nose.

"Where is your father now?" Sunset chimed back in.

"He's in his office. I take it you think someone is stealing from Velvet?" Diamond asked.

"I know someone is stealing," SciTwi said, trying not to let anger creep into her tone.

"Okay, but look. You won't find anything here. My father is a very good man, even if he may come across as a filthy money grubber. I wish you luck in your findings," Diamond said as she gave a nod and quickly hurried away. Sunset pursed her lips.

"What are you thinkin'?" SciTwi asked, placing her hands on her hips.

"Now, don't get impatient. I'm thinkin' that she may have a point. We might need to open ourselves to the possibility that there's nothin' goin' on here. The real culprit could be on the other side of the planet for all we know," Sunset suggested, readjusting her black top hat. SciTwi could almost feel her heart crumble.

"I know that," She said, rubbing her arm and tugging at her white sleeve. "But, you did trace the hacking back here, right?"

"I did. But everything has its faults. It is usually very accurate, but sometimes there's a red herring every now and then," Sunset explained gently. SciTwi sighed.

"Alright. I get it," She said. Sunset held her arm out for SciTwi to take.

"Don't look so bummed. You're too pretty to have a frown on your face," Sunset flirted, making SciTwi force an eye roll. She took the older woman's arm regardless and off they went.

At Rich Robotics, the pair found a lead. He told them that there was a man who worked there with a suspicious background and provided evidence for it. He also worked at a club part time.

Author's note: I wrote this all in one day, so sorry if it feels rushed. I didn't want Filthy Rich to be the bad guy, but I also didn't know how to go about it so the real bad guys are going to be some people we've never heard of before.
