"Elsword… what did you bring back?"
"Isn't she the one from yesterday?"
"What did our leader bring back now..."
A mixture of voices stirred the mage from her rest, her ears picking up on several individuals. She felt familiar arms pull her closer, her eyes opening hazily as she gazed over to the sounds. Emerald was the first color that she saw. Her vision was still rather hazy, leaving the female to reach up and gently wipe at her eyes. Once she had pulled her hands away, she could finally see what she was facing, Piercers.
"Oh? She's awake!" The lady with green eyes exclaimed, kneeling down and peering curiously at Aisha.
Uncomfortable, Aisha backed up, her eyes widening when she realized the situation she was in. Almost instantly, her first reaction was to reach for her wand, frosty particles enveloping her hands .
"Rena, back up a bit, you're a little too close,"
The mage's gaze snapped upwards, staring up into a familiar pair of crimson eyes. It's...
"How was your nap, sunshine?" Elsword grinned, carefully lowering Aisha to her feet.
Aisha almost stumbled when he did this, harshly gripping at his shirt to stabilize herself. Realizing that she was in no position to be standing, the male gently held her by the waist, supporting her body with his own. Despite the awkward situation, the female silently accepted his help, her guard however raising with every voice that chimed into the air.
"Y'know, even though I know how random our leader can be sometimes… This is just a whole nother level," A blonde-haired male shook his head, a tiny frown crossing his lips as his cerulean eyes glanced over Aisha.
The mage stiffened herself at his words, knowing full-well that he most certainly didn't want her there in their base.
It's not like I wanted to come here either.
She almost grumbled those words aloud, pulling away from Elsword's hold, which was slowly turning into an embrace from her perspective. The swordsmen pouted her when she did this, reluctantly letting go.
"I apologize. I'll see myself out now," The elementalist stated bluntly, quickly turning around in a desperate attempt to search for an exit, only to be blocked by none other than mister dimwit himself.
"Isn't it rather impolite to leave after being invited over by a gentlemen such as myself?" Elsword said, his eyebrow raising cockily as he grinned.
"Hah, gentleman my ass. You're just a stalker who wouldn't stop following me for the whole day and then once you tired me out to the point where I couldn't even stay awake, you kidnap me to your base as a way to force me to join your group," Aisha muttered sarcastically, glaring at the male as she walked around him.
"Woah, stalking a young maiden now, huh, Elsword. You sure picked up an odd and rude hobby," A black-haired male chuckled, his golden eyes flashing with amusement, "Not only that, you picked the maiden that specifically was trying to murder you yesterday too,"
"You know… I'd like to believe that there are plenty of ways into a man's heart, including a lovey-dovey assassination attempt involving a knife to the throat," The red-haired winked, his signature smirk appearing on his lips.
"Woah woah woah wait, what's this about asking her to join our group now?" The women known as Rena cut in, placing her hand on her hips as she narrowed her eyes.
"That's what I want to know too," Aisha grumbled quietly.
While the Piercers were busy discussing the reason behind Elsword bringing the murderous mage, the female herself soon realized that their base was just the inside if a cave. Which meant the exit wasn't a door but an opening. The only reason she couldn't find it earlier was because it was nighttime and the exit was shrouded in darkness. Silently, she eased her way towards it, taking the chance to make her escape now. However, things of course didn't go as planned. Her wrist was snatched instantly by a cold grip.
"May I question the reason behind your leave?" A soft and smooth voice asked.
Sighing, Aisha turned around, her calm amethyst eyes meeting golden ones. Standing before her was a silver-haired female, her outfit consisting of a white and black battle-suit adorned with blue gems. Floating around her were two sharp drones.
"Can't I just leave in peace? Look, I'm sorry for attacking you guys yesterday, but I can't help that. I'm a bounty hunter, I have to make a living somehow, just like how you guys make a living by killing and stealing,"
"Of course, if you're a bounty hunter, it's inevitable that you would go after us. However, that doesn't change the fact that you're still a considerable threat to Piercers. Therefore, since I am a member, it's inevitable that my job is to get rid of enemies, such as yourself, that would endanger the group,"
She's not lying.
In a second, Aisha's eyes flashed dangerously and with great power, she broke the hold on her wrist. Without missing a beat, she thrusted out her palm, hot condensed energy shooting outwards in the form of an orb. With such a sudden attack, the silver-haired female couldn't dodge it, her eyes wide as the orb exploded into a mass of heated air and gas that turned the surroundings into a blurry haze.
"What's going on…?! Eve!"
The maiden known as Eve winced and stepped back, raising her arm up to cover her face and body as a cyclone of wind came gushing forth, dispersing the gas that had originally blocked her vision. And just like that, the wind died down, leaving no trace of the mage that was standing there earlier.
"She escaped," Eve said, lowering her arms as she gazed out towards the opening of the cave.
"Eve! What did you do? Where did Aisha go?!" Elsword shouted, already beginning to run outside, only to be blocked by the nasod's drones, which created a wall of electricity.
The male turned around angrily, his scarlet eyes glowing.
"What do you think you're doing?" He growled.
"I could say the same to you, Elsword. I've never seen you so obsessed with a female before- or should I say, smitten?"
"Whatever, I don't have time for this, remove the drones Eve. If I don't chase after her right now, there's no way I'm gonna catch up," Elsword muttered, recalling how hard it actually was to play that game of chase with Aisha.
If he hadn't begun running right at the moment she had teleported, he would've never been able to follow her for that long. In the end, it was only through sheer luck and determination that he was able to keep her in his peripheral vision.
"No. I believe you owe us an explanation for your latest actions and words,"
"Eve, I just said I don't have time for this bullshit! Remove the damn wall or I will myself…!" Elsword roared, his calm demeanor fading into unrestrained rage.
The nasod's eyes widened in fear at his drastic change in personality, unwittingly stepping back with caution. The swordsmen whirled around, his eyes taking in the surprised and panic looks of his own comrades. It took a few seconds before he realized the impact of his words. His body explained it all, the clenched fist, narrowed eyes and loud voice completely portrayed his absolute anger. Taking in a deep breath, he closed his eyes, uncurling his fingers and relaxing his shoulders. With a heavy sigh, Elsword shook his head, walking over to the closest rock and sitting himself down. He lowered his head, resting his arm on his knees while crossing his hands.
"...Elsword…? My man, what has gotten into you?" Chung questioned quietly, cautiously stepping forward to squat down before the now exhausted leader.
However Elsword remained silent, pulling a hand roughly through his hair. With a tired sigh, his scarlet eyes looked up to gaze solemnly at the black hollow opening of the cave. However, a figure came and blocked his vision. Tiredly, he trailed his eyes up, staring into the beautiful golden ones of Eve.
"Elsword, there is something I wish to discuss with you about,"
Looks like they're not following me… That's good…
Aisha was relieved at the thought, but somehow, somewhere in her heart, she felt a bit saddened to know that the red-haired didn't come after her. But it was better this way. Interactions with others would only prove to be her downfall. She's been through it all before. Her life was always a game of cat and mouse. Sometimes she was cat. Other times she was the mouse. It was a hunt or be hunted life.
With a sad and woeful sigh, the mage reached her hands up, pulling her hood over her hair. Looking up, her amethyst eyes took in the sparkling night sky, littered with thousands of stars that shimmered brightly. Alongside the stars, the moon casted its pale light downwards, enveloping the trees and flowers in an hazy ethereal glow. It was a beautiful sight, the soft colors bringing a sense of deja vu to the mage. The scenery reminded her of home; a home that no longer existed.
"Guess… I'll head to Sander..." Aisha thought aloud, shifting her gaze from the sky to the ground.
Crack!
Within seconds, a thunderous lightning strike came roaring down, hitting the ground and tearing up the Earth. Caught off guard, the mage was blown off her feet and in a sense of panic, was only able to cast an extremely light magic barrier around her body. She felt herself lift into the sky for a few seconds, before abrupting slamming downwards, the impact leaving her breathless and dizzy. Weakly, she struggled to regain control of her body, an ever growing fear building up within her. Her lavender eyes caught several figures standing before her and with an angered push, she was able to raise her head, taking in the very sickly smiles of her most sworn enemies.
