PPS To my mysterious Guest on aug 9, its because of them yall get an update for here. Virtual hugs ;)

Stephanie hung up her jacket and got out the half drank wine bottle. She had that feeling again. When she was at work, singing at the club; she didn't particularly love her job but for some reason singing made her feel better.

She slouched her body over her couch and flicked on the tv. She lived alone now that she was 21. she had inherited her deceased uncle's mansion fully to her disclosure finally but the strangest thing was she couldn't bring herself to stay in it for more than a hour. A wave of emotions washed over her anytime she was there; fear, excitement, confusion, hate, love, grief. Maybe the mansion is haunted, she joked to herself. She lived in an apartment she had built on the property but she still owned the mansion. Instead though, she rented it out and turned it into a hotel, mostly for various writers and collectors of weird and all kinds of objects. Once in a while she would get cooky residents and weirdos but she never had to kick them out; the Edgely Hotel had only been open for three months so that was a good start at least. The only rule was that all the guest couldn't break any of the ornaments or the mansion; and no children. She didn't know how she had come up with that rule but it suited and since she didn't have a boyfriend it wouldn't backfire on herself later. The one room she hadn't rented out was Gordon's study. She couldn't bring herself to. That one room in particular brought back too many memories and as odd as most of them were about throwing fire which she guessed she must have dreamed about circus lot and traveling around a lot in old movie cars she kept the study as it was; if anything she didn't want the extraordinary memories to disappear, even though she had no idea what to do with it.

Ding dong. Ding dong. Ding dong. Ding dong. Stephanie's spine shook and she glared at the grandfather clock ringing off the forth hour; one of several things she moved out the mansion for keep sake or delicacy issues. She moaned unenthusiastically and sat the empty glass on the side table. She had to go up to the mansion and welcome the reserved guest coming in fifteen minutes. He registered earlier that month saying he had some unique artifacts that he wanted to share with the Edgely Mansion.

Stephanie wasn't a great lover of reading, but she was full on board with her late uncle's work. In a twisted spin that led to her collecting and then the mansion turned hotel and then to the current situation, taking in others works.

If she didn't leave know then she would be late. It took a good ten minutes to walk from her apartment to the front of the mansion. She had an assistant though who worked at the from desk and could stall the guest until she got there. When Stephanie got there the assistant wasn't at her desk. Stephanie shrugged and waited for the collector and wondered what his 'unique artifacts' were. He hadn't said much about them, all that he mentioned was that he had a hell of a time bargaining them from an English women and that she shouldn't be surprised if a pissed blond women showed up soon after he arrived following him. The way he explained it made Stephanie briefly wonder if she should call the police to inspect the 'bargain agreements', but she never questioned him out loud and just took down his information.

That didn't mean she wasn't still suspicious.

A black jeep pulled up and a man with a brown jacket suit and dark sunglasses walked up to the door. He looked around and sniffed unimpressed. Stephanie frowned not letting show though. He walked up to the front desk and tapped the bell.

"One reservation key please." His Texan accent spitting clear.

"Are you the man with the artifact exhibit?" She asked even though she already knew the answer.

"You bet cha lil darlin," he moved his shades up his face and smiled. It wasn't a charming smile either. "A bunch of really old, heavy artifacts at your service."

"If you would sign your name here mister?" She could bother to remember his name. On the phone he sounded cocky, in person he looked it.

"Billy Ray Sanguine." He chirped.

"How interesting," now be nice. I have to be nice. Stephanie pulled out a smile and checked the paper. "I'll get Micheal and Warren to help move your things. What kind of artifacts did you say they was?"

Sanguine combed his hair back with his fingers. "I never said sweet heart." They both stopped on the porch, Stephanie tried her best not to take a step away from him. Sanguine laughed to himself. "They're called god killers. Some back story they have with 'em. I would personally like to show you what that is." He rubbed her shoulder then laughed when she froze on the spot. Sanguine walked over to his truck and it took all of Stephanie not to rip her shirt off behind his back as she marched inside to tell Micheal and Warren to deal with the guest.

Oh yeah this story just got some back bone. So technically the song was mostly for the very beginning of the chapter and then the rest kind of just took on a life of its own. But if it works, it works. Shrugs
