Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson or anything you recognise.
Percy knew that he was going to visit that night. His father always did after he had a particularly horrible day.
"What do you want?" He asked resentfully.
Poseidon sighed. He had hoped that Percy would have forgiven him by now. He knew that it had been wrong for him to dump Percy at the orphanage. But it was not like he had a choice. He could not raise Percy by himself and he knew that Amphitrite would never allow it.
"How have you been Percy?" He asked, sitting down opposite his son by the fire where he was currently seated, and smiled kindly.
Percy always hated it when his father came to visit him after a bad day. He was too exhausted to actually stay angry at his father.
He knew that he was being childish. Holding a grudge against his father just because he put him in the orphanage. But there was still a part of him that was not willing to forgive him just yet. It was too early for that.
"Fine" he answered, staring at the fire, not willing to meet his father's eyes that mirrored his own. Percy knew that his father deserved forgiveness. After all he was the one who got him out of the orphanage and he was the one who told him about his mother, his heritage and the fact that he was a god.
To say Percy was surprised hearing all of that was an understatement. His reaction ways almost comical when he literally lost consciousness. But maybe that was because of his malnourishment, he mused. It was a possibility as after all it was not like the orphanage gave all the children enough food.
"Percy..." Poseidon said slowly, snapping him out of his reverie.
"Yes father?"
"I know that you have had a hard day" at this Percy snorted."and I am really sorry to spring this on you now but..."
Poseidon paused and took a deep breath.
"Percy... The gods know of your existence"
Percy stiffened and looked up at his father, his face portraying a roller coaster of emotions. First surprise then fear and finally annoyance.
"How?" He asked after a moment of silence.
Poseidon sighed. His son was not going to like this.
"Your mother... She came in the morning and announced that she discovered the existence of a powerful god... I'm sorry Percy I couldn't do anything..."
"What are you saying?" Percy asked cautiously, his eyes widening slightly as his mind assessed the situation, thinking of different situations this could lead too.
"The gods want to meet you now."
Olympus was beautiful, But Percy didn't pay attention to its beauty as he made his way towards the throne room of the gods.
His footsteps echoed as he walked into the room. He took a deep breath and looked up to face the gods.
The twelve thrones were arranged in an inverted U. An enormous fire crackled in the central hearth, and was being tended by Hestia. The sight of her encouraged Percy to walk towards Zeus. She was no stranger to him. He cherished the moments she would come to visit him. She was like the mother he never had.
As he approached, she smiled at him. Percy forced a smile and looked up to face Zeus.
He bowed to his father first and then knelt before Zeus.
"Rise boy" he said, looking down at him with something akin to curiosity in his eyes.
"Who are you?" He asked Percy, after a moment of silence.
"I am Perseus, son of Poseidon." He said, his shoulders tensing, his jaw set defiantly.
"Who is your mother Perseus?" Percy tensed and looked at Artemis from the corner of his eye. Even though he hadn't spent much time with his mother, he could read her expressions as clear as day.
She didn't want him to reveal her secret, even though she had brought this upon her.
Fine then. So be it. He would not reveal anything, but the truth would come out sooner or later.
"With all due respect Lord Zeus, I would prefer if that were a secret" he said, after a moment of silence. Artemis relaxed. She was safe, at least for now.
Zeus studied him for a moment and then nodded.
Percy was somewhat shocked that the God would let it go so easily... (See wht I did there? No? Okay...)
He managed to stand his ground however. His posture defensive but submissive at the same time, looking into the god's eyes.
"Since your existence wasn't known to us before, we will have to discuss the details of what to do and where to move forward in this issue. The details will be put to vote. Is there anything you might like to add, Perseus?" Zeus asked.
"No, sir" Percy replied, tensing. Artemis was definitely not going to be on his side and he knew it.
But if fate was going to throw another problem in his way, then so be it. But he wouldn't back down without trying, that was for sure.
Wow... You gust must really hate me...
I am really sorry guys.. I hope I can update sooner this time...
Until next time peeps!
