Spike stared ahead at the woman in front of him, he was annoyed with her.

Faye decided to that she should tag along, the woman was always nosy. Spike rolled his eyes as he glared at Faye. She always knew how to push his buttons and get on his damn nerves.

A chuckle brought Spike back from his thoughts. He looked over to Riley to see a knowing grin on his face. Spike glared at him. "What are you braying at?" He asked his old friend. Riley just chuckled in response.

"That woman, what is she to you?" Riley asked.

"Huh?" Spike replied confused. He looked back to Faye, her hips swaying side to side as she walked. That didn't surprise Spike, Faye oozed a sexual aura without even trying. He noticed men turning their heads so fast that it seemed like their necks would snap. Spike rolled his eyes suddenly irritated. "You mean, Faye? She's nothing but a woman who lives on the Bebop, she's nothing but a partner." He replied.

Riley rolled his eyes and looked ahead, smirking to himself. "Sure, sure." Riley replied. Spike could be so dense sometimes.

"Is this it?" Faye asked, turning to look at the men. Riley nodded and she walked in immediately. Riley sighed, that damn nervous feeling was back. He froze up, unable to move. Spike rolled his eyes at his friend and grabbed his arm, dragging him into the shop.

Riley's eyes immediately went to the front counter. A woman stood there, smiling warmly at the customer she was talking to. She had long blond hair that fell to her hips, her amber colored eyes shone bright with warmth and kindness, her pale skin seemed to glow. She wore a loose pink tank top tucked into her blue skirt with matching blue heels. She looked like an angel.

"That's her..." Riley whispered, his voice cracking. "That's Jessie."

Spike looked to the woman and his eyes widened slightly. She looked just like Julia. Spike shook his head. No, this isn't like Julia... Her name is Jessie and Riley loves her. He's just going to help Riley out and soon this hindrance will be over, then he could go back to his relaxed life as bounty chasing bounty hunter.

"So, go talk to her." Spike said, sitting at one of the tables. Spike stretched out as he put his hands behind his head. Riley sat down tensely as Faye sat down and rested her head in her hands.

"That's it? Go talk to her?" Riley asked, nervously.

Spike sighed and nodded. "Yeah. Act like you're not all flustered by her, girls don't like it when guys are confident in themselves." Spike replied, yawning as he did so.

"Oh really? So you're telling me that if I go up to her and treat her normally, she'll just like me?" Riley asked annoyed. Spike smirked at Riley.

"Yep." He replied simply.

Riley hated that. He hated that Spike could just do things without hesitation, but Riley couldn't. It just wasn't in his nature. Riley gave Spike a look of annoyance as he leaned towards his old friend. "What do I say to her since you know everything?" Riley asked.

Spike chuckled and looked at Riley. "It's not what you say, it's how you say it. You can go up to her and say "Hey, you know cows make milk?" all confident like and she'll be impressed. But if you stutter and act like a moron who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, then she'll be turned off." Spike said.

"Oh, really?" Riley asked, not buying into Spike's advice. "Show me." He said.

Spike raised a brow. "What?"

"Show me your skills Mr. Know-It-All." Riley replied, smirking.

"Oh, I'd like to see this." Faye mumbled with a slight grin.

"Fine." Spike said. He looked around, searching for a woman. But the only women in here was Faye and Jessie. Spike sighed and looked to Faye, she gave him a surprised look. Spike suddenly grinned that attractive boyish grin. He pulled out a cigarette and leaned towards Faye, oozing a sexual aura like she had before. "You gotta light?" He asked.

Faye raised a brow, deciding to play along. She was amused after all. "You know I have a light." She replied.

Spike smirked as he put the cigarette to his lips. "Why won't you help me out then?" Spike replied.

Faye gave Spike a cautious look before puling out her lighter, one she had stolen from him. Spike didn't seem to care, Faye brought the lighter to the cigarette and Spike touched her hand. Faye felt a jolt of electricity as their hands touch. She pulled away, not showing that it bothered her but Spike kept contact. Spike began to rub her hand with the pad of his thumb, sending jolts of electricity through her arm and her body.

"Thanks." He finally replied. Faye looked up at his mismatched brown eyes and saw something there, but she couldn't figure it out. "You know, you're really pretty Faye." He said.

"Huh?" Faye muttered, trying to concentrate on his words. But all she could think about was that hand touching her's. Faye tried to focus on his words.

"I said you're pretty..." Spike said. His hand suddenly left her's and she was brought back to reality. "For a shrew."

Faye glared at him angrily as she tucked the lighter back in his pocket. Riley watched in curiosity. "You bastard." Faye muttered, looking away.

"So that's how you do it." Riley muttered.

Spike leaned back once again and grinned at Riley. "Yep. Eye contact and smooth words. That's all you gotta do." Spike replied. "Now go get her, cowboy." Spike said.

Riley nodded, feeling a new found of confidence. He walked over to the counter, his spurs clinking as he walked. He made it to Jessie. "Hey." He said.

Jessie looked to him, her amber eyes radiating warmth and kindness. Then she smiled that pretty smile and he was a goner. That nervous feeling came back and all the words Riley thought he was going to say left him. He was left a mess of nerves and fear. His heart began to beat faster as she spoke, her voice gentle and kind.

"Oh hello!" Jessie said happily. "You must like sweets a lot sir, you just came in here earlier today." Jessie said.

"Yes! I like sweets!" Riley replied nervously, his voice cracking.

Jessie smiled warmly at him. "Yes, that's why I work here." She said warmly.

Spike sighed as he watched Riley. "He's blowing it." Spike muttered.

Faye watched the interaction with interest. She grabbed a cigarette and lit it before inhaling the cancer stick. She smiled warmly at the two people. "I dunno. I think he's doing alright." She said.

Spike looked at her with an incredulous look. "Please." He scoffed. "He's falling over himself, rambling on about how much he likes sweets."

Faye chuckled and looked to Spike with a gentle smile. Spike's eyes widened slightly, his heart beating faster. Faye never looked at him like that, with a smile like that. She looks so much like a nice girl.

Like Julia...

Faye just smiled at Spike's shocked look. "A confident man may be refreshing Gadjo, but a nervous man means that we know that they like us for us." Faye replied, looking towards the rambling Riley and the smiling woman. "It means that they get nervous just by the sight of us, it means they may even love us."

Spike stared at Faye, uncertain of his nervous feeling he just got in the pit of his stomach. "What do you mean?" Spike asked.

Faye smiled, still looking at the two people. "Like how you guys go after pretty girls like her, I guess. Most men don't like girls who are outspoken, like me, they like pretty girls who will bear their children and wait on them hand and foot." She said. Spike watched as Faye sighed with wanting eyes. "Young puppy love." She muttered.

Spike looked back to the two people.

"Is there anything you would like to order?" Jessie asked Riley.

Riley nodded his head. "Um, yes... Jessie?" He asked. She looked up at him with those big amber eyes.

"Yes?" She asked.

Just when he thought he worked up the nerve, he lost it. "I'd like a red velvet slice of cake." He said.

He looked down dejectedly as he pulled out the woolongs and paid for his cake. "Thanks." He muttered, taking the slice.

"Come again and see me okay?" Jessie replied, smiling brightly.

Riley nodded as he walked the walk of shame back to his companions. He sat down and stared at the cake.

Spike and Faye looked at him knowingly. "You couldn't do it, could you?" Spike asked.

"Yep."

"So what now?" Faye asked, looking sympathetically at the poor man.

"I don't know." Riley replied. Faye shook her head and looked at Spike, who now stood up. "Where are you going?" She asked.

"To talk to Jessie." Spike replied simply. He shoved his hands in his pockets as he walked to the counter. He looked at the woman who looked so much like Julia, but he already disconnected the two. "Yo." He said.

Jessie smiled at him, but it wasn't the same smile she gave to Riley. "Hello, how may I help you?"

Spike sighed and scratched the back of his head. "Listen, I'm just gonna give it to you straight. My friend over there, Riley-"

Riley watched as Spike talked to Jessie with cautious eyes. "I wonder what he's saying." Riley muttered as Spike pointed at him.

"Probably something about you." Faye replied, watching him with bored eyes.

"I don't know..." Riley said, his voice full of suspension. Faye gave Riley a confused look.

"What do you mean by that?" She asked.

Riley stared at Spike. "Well, I don't know if you know this but around these parts we heard. Spike left to join a syndicate group called the Red Dragons. Somewhere along the way he met a man named Vicious, supposedly they were close friends." Riley explained. Faye raised a brow, this was her first time hearing this. Then again, Spike never talked about his past. "During his time in the Red Dragons, he fell in love with a woman named Julia, the woman actually looks a lot like Jessie, supposedly... But Vicious loved Julia also, so Spike and Julia were gonna run away together. I heard Spike had died and Julia disappeared, everyone thought she died also." Riley explained.

Faye looked at Spike with wide eyes. "Julia and Viscious, huh?" She muttered to herself. Just then Spike and Jessie laughed, smiling with each other. Riley's eyes widened slightly.

"That bastard, he's trying to move in on my girl!" Riley exclaimed, standing up abruptly.

Faye watched the interaction. What was this feeling? Jealously? No way. She doesn't like Spike Spiegel, she can't stand that guy. She touched her hand lightly.

That meant nothing...

Riley glared angrily as he stomped towards Spike. He punched Spike on the back of his head. "You jerk!"

Spike glared at Riley. "What the hell was that for?!" Spike exclaimed.

"You know what you're doing, you cheat!" Riley exclaimed. "You're trying to steal Jessie for yourself." He whispered.

"What?! Am not!" Spike exclaimed. He looked to Faye for help and Faye looked away angrily.

"Don't look at me, that's what it looked like." She said stubbornly.

Spike's face fell as Riley stormed out of the bakery along with Faye. Spike sighed and looked to Jessie. "Sorry, just come to the Bebop and talk to him. He really likes you." Spike replied. Jessie smiled sympathetically at the man.

"Sure, are you okay Mr. Spiegel?" She asked.

Spike grinned. "Yeah. Call me Spike. And that man was Riley. See ya around." Spike said before exiting the bakery.

He caught up with his friends, both of them ignoring him as they made their way to the Bebop. "Jerk." Riley mumbled.

Spike sighed exasperatedly. "I wasn't trying to take Jessie! Honestly!" He said, trying to convince his friend. Riley ignored him and kept walking along with Faye to the Bebop. "Geez, I don't even like Julia." Spike stopped and his eyes widened as he realized what he just said. "I mean Jessie." He muttered.

Faye glanced back at the lanky Cowboy Bebop. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, irritated with both him and herself. "Yeah right." She muttered.

They made it back to the Bebop and they walked in. Jet smiled at his companions, but that smile faded when he saw the look on their faces. He raised a brow and looked at the three. "Have fun at the bakery?" He asked.

They all turned to glare at him. "NO!" They shouted. Spike went to lay on the couch, Faye walked off, and Riley sat near the window. Jet sighed as he looked to the food he just finished preparing.

"And I made bell peppers and beef." He muttered.

Ed laughed happily as she danced around with Ein. "Bell peppers~! Beef~! No beef in the bell peppers~!" Ed sang happily.

Jet let out a sigh and looked towards the directions his companions went in.

And here I thought we'd be a big happy family... Jet thought. That's what I get for thinking.
