This is where the story begins to branch out of the two main chapters, though a few of the chapters are from completely different timelines. This chapter could be connected to either, but I mainly considered it [ch 3] with TheirLove. Hope you all enjoy :) reviews are also really appreciated.

I do not own the Legend of Zelda

Trust: ThePeople of Kakariko

The two coincided with each other more often, even completing some traps together if Link was quick enough to reach Sheik. However, he noticed a sorrowful ora coming forth from the Sheikah, and it only grew greater throughout the days.

Later...

The Hero let a sigh of relief as he finished another temple; however, his smile was short-lived as the Sheikah was not there to greet him.

Link has yet to see the Sheikah after their encounter 4 weeks ago. Sheik hasn't even been disabling traps for him ―not that he was complaining, but it was troublesome― and Link was growing more worried as the days passed by.

Link prepared to ride to the nearby village, Kakariko, in hopes of staying in the cozy inn and maybe even catching a glimpse of the Sheikah in her home, Link called for his horse companion, Epona. The gentle mare galloped towards him, and he [Link] quickly rushed onto the saddle.

As they arrived in Kakariko…

"Thank you, Epona," Link softly said, giving her an apple.

The horse then ran off into the open field to eat some grass.

The village of Kakariko was by all means not a grand village compared to others ―such asCastle Town― for it was the home of a past Sheikah tribe. The Sheikah ―also know as shadow folk, because of how mysterious their people were― was a tribe looked down upon the people of Hyrule, even if their loyalties recited within the kingdoms. The Sheikahs took an oath to protect the royal family from the dangers to come; however, when the people of Hyrule realized there was a traitor among them… a massacre was called. This led to the Sheikah genocide, leaving only Sheik and Lady Impa―although, Lady Impa was now a sage―as the last of the Sheikah people. Nevertheless, the people of Hyrule were never a forgiving land ―even if their princess was kind-hearted― and their view of the shadow folk was forever loathsome. Seeing that, the village of Kakario lacked many resources and the help of other areas, due to its deceased people that received no mercy from the unforgivable.

Link paced towards the inn, but quickly came to a halt when he saw black smoke drift into the bright sky. Screams were heard from the direction of the supposed fire, causing Link to snap into action. As he ran towards the scene, the sight gave the hero's heart a strong tug downwards to the pits' of his stomach. There she stood, the love of his life. Her body covered in coats of blood. Her golden hair, resembling brown with the stains [of blood] and in a complete frenzy. Her outfit was no longer the rich blue it was supposed to be, but coated in a purple like color. Her beautiful tan skin was now pale white with sprinkles of red. Her eyes were left wide open and her mouth was exposed as an expression of pure agony and shock plastered onto it. Red. Red. Red. Red was everywhere, it was all he could see. His chest pounded, his throat dried to a perch, and his blood… his blood ran cold. Blood. Blood. Blood. Oh, how much blood he saw. Her body was hanged in the center of the rising fire. Her wrists tied and stretched apart above her, her ankles tied down, and her chest ―opened for all to see―held a mortal wound.

Link let out a blood-curdling scream, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. The villagers around the girl wielded swords and daggers. Whips and stakes. Ropes and torches. The people of Kakariko were no longer the gentle characters that Link has once known. They chanted in joy as the last of the Sheikah's body began to burn to a crisp within the blazing fire. Her flesh ripped apart leaving scorched skin and somewhat exposed bones behind. The right side of her face being devoured by the burning fire, melting as it continued to spread. The blonde hair flaming to a dazzling red then quickly fading to a charcoal black.

The hero stepped back and dropped to his knees. The people of Kakariko were no longer the forgiving people he once knew, and the Sheikah people were forever now lost to the depths of death itself.
