What had it been? Days or Weeks? He couldn't remember any more since the days had begun to blur together. They hadn't sent him into any more tests since then but he wasn't about to believe there wouldn't be anymore. They had, however, begun to feed him more often, a meal each day was better compared to the minimal feeding he used to receive.
"Why is it so dang quiet?" Steve asked himself. He would occasionally hear the patter of footsteps from outside his room but other then that he didn't hear much of else. He sighed quietly to himself, hoping to break the unending silence.
Suddenly he heard the beeping again, but it didn't sound near him. He stood and walked over to a wall and pressed his ear against it.

"Testing will..." "10 Seconds..." "Clear all..."

Steve could just barely hear bits of the robotic voice and pressed his ear harder in hopes to hear all of it.

"Subject 1099, Serena C..." "Carrier..." "Testing will now..."

"Serena? Is this person in the same situation as I am?" he questioned to no one but himself. He heard the faint sound of gunshots as he walked back over to the bed he had been given after his 'testing'. "What is their goal? What is the testing about?" He looked down at the ground, taking a glance at his arm. After his testing, that purple gas, he had awoken with a strange marking on his arm. It looked like the type of mark that you would get after having received a shot. Had they injected him with something? And if so, what had they injected him with?

Steve had come to the slow realization that a collar they had placed on him when he first arrived stopped him from changing back into that mutated form he had once taken. It seemed to have some kind of subduing quality to it, most likely to prevent him from harming any of them. Carrier... So does this other person contain a virus as well? There must be some sort of connection that he isn't realizing. Are the people trying to see how strong the virus is? No, that couldn't be or why would they have put this stupid collar on him. Or, were they seeing if they could subdue the mutation but keep the abilities it gave? There was too many questions floating around in Steve's head that he wished to have answered but of course he wouldn't be able to get any of them answered if he was locked up like he is now.

He looked around once more. There just had to be a way for him to escape, he just needed to find it and soon.

A.N. - Welcome back! Wow, I've been gone for a long time and I am so sorry about that. I ended up having an EXTREME case of writer's block for the past few months and it took almost a year and writing some Reader-Inserts on another site to fully overcome it but now I'M BACK! What a twist! What is going on in the story? Did I just add an OC?
