Chapter 3

The magic forest was getting brighter every day you came to visit. The creatures were happier, like they used to be, but Maleficent had unfinished business with King Stefan.

"Diaval, I need you to watch over (f/n)."

He was a bit nervous. In his mind you were the fairest of them all, with your perfect (e/c) eyes and soft looking lips. And he was just a small and unimportant raven. You had just arrived at the forest and you were led in by Maleficent, but when you woke she was not there, instead you were greeted by his steady dark eyes.

"Hello," you said sounding as frail as a flower.

He grabbed you hand and helped you up.

"What would you like to do today, Beastly?" You felt slowly becoming red at the nickname. "I don't know… Oh! Maybe a picnic."

Finding the perfect place wasn't hard, and you two were deep into conversation. You talked about your childhood and about his, how stubborn the three women that took care of where, and whatever else came to mind.

By the end of the evening you both sat by each other, beside the large body of water that flowed through the magical place.

"Thank you," you said to him.

"For what?"

"Such a great day," and as you last began slurred you fell asleep on his chest.
