Her heart pounding and mind whirling, Musa stepped on stage and faced the roaring crowd. 'It won't be like last time' Musa counselled herself. She turned towards Araceli; this was it, her chance. Wera and Mieke stood at the end of the stage behind Araceli for her encouragement; yelling her name and throwing their fists in the air, although Wera did it far less energetically. They were an odd group of friends; it just seemed strange for people who were so different in personality and interests to mix together. Musa couldn't really understand it, but then again how could she when she had been a loner practically her whole life?

"Whenever you're ready," Rylan discretely muttered to Musa, placing a hand on her shoulder supportively. Musa looked a little bewildered as she processed the circumstance in front of her, however nodded mechanically in reply. Rylan offered a small, kind smile towards her before walking over to the DJ booth and preparing his headphones. It took Rylan some convincing to let Musa on stage again after seeing how distraught she was last time, however he eventually caved and agreed that it was only fair to give her another chance.

"Okay everybody, listen up, it seems we've got a rap battle on our hands," Rylan announced energetically via speaker, "So please give a warm welcome to Araceli and Musa" to which the crowd cheered and clapped in response. The club was quite dark, the only light coming from small frosted windows and dim tube lights, making it difficult to spot members of the crowd or their expressions. On the other hand the stage area itself was significantly brighter which gave the illusion of isolation and certainly exaggerated the phrase 'being in the spotlight'. This reminded Musa of why she was so nervous the first time coming on stage. It also didn't help that her sonar hearing could pick up even the subtlest of sounds within the room, giving her a roaring headache from all the noise.

As the noise from the crowd died down, Musa looked towards Rylan and gave the thumbs up in order to signal for the beat to start. She took a deep, calming breath, before grabbing her microphone tightly and bringing it to her lips. To Musa, it seemed like a whole minute of silence had drifted by before the words started to roll off her tongue, however in reality it had only been around 10 seconds. She stood as stiff as a board to begin with, but it didn't take long till she had relaxed and moved with the rhythm while presenting Araceli threatening gestures in the battle. The music had saved her from freezing up and isolated her from the surrounding environment, in a much more positive way compared to last time as her concentration could solely be upon the lines dished out between them. Time seemed to flicker from an insufferably slow pace to a mind-boggling fast one and it was like the rap battle was over before it had even begun.

Musa was suddenly brought back to reality when the beat had stopped. 'Oh, it's over' Musa thought, baffled at how quickly it all happened. Her eyes drifted towards Araceli to analyse her expression, she seemed a mixture of surprised and irritated.

As the crowd cheered for who they thought was the winner, Musa clenched her fists and shut her eyes from the anticipation. She was good, not as good as during practice but still good considering how she had to think on her feet. Was she better than Araceli though? It's hard to tell when you're so in the moment, without a second to process what had been said to each other. The crowd seemed to react equally as much to both Musa and Araceli as they dished out lines and disses. In reality it wouldn't really have mattered to her if she had won the rap battle or not because either way she didn't freeze this time and the lines came out naturally. It was still a success. Although beating Araceli would be the icing on the cake. Musa's eyes flew open as she heard the crowd cheer for her louder than Araceli and as a result a massive grin spread across her face.

"Looks like we have a winner, lets give it up for Muuusaa" Rylan yelled out to the crowd, turning to Musa with a warm smile to which she simply responded with a grateful nod. Araceli on the other hand grunted and threw Musa a deathly scowl as if to say 'this isn't over', before turning on the spot to join her friends off stage. It was a challenge Musa would eagerly look forward to, despite her loss, Araceli still performed impressively and pretty much just warranted her bragging rights. Although, it would be hard to find someone in melody who wasn't talented in their musical abilities; it was practically in their DNA.

Musa immediately sifted through the crowd, stepped outside the club and transformed into her Winx for a quick journey home. Basking in the moment of glory wasn't worth the trouble of risking her father coming home and finding her missing.

How Musa managed to go from choking on stage just last week to winning a rap battle the next was baffling. Perhaps her pent up anger towards Araceli helped, after all she was pretty adamant in rubbing it in her smug face but then again Musa spent countless hours practicing. One things for sure; being on stage was certainly exhilarating. She wanted more. In fact, it inspired her to write a song.
