A/N: I'll keep this first note short and sweet. Thank you guys for reading! And ClockworkDoll was the only one who sent a Summoner in. Guess who I have a surprise for~ :3

The Summoner call is still open... more info at the end. Enjoy this chappie~ :D

"The first thing to know about humans is that we aren't perfect. Not by a long shot." Ezreal paused for a second before continuing, "Unfortunately, not everyone is happy about that. Part of being a human is the mistakes you make. Then again, your mistakes also add reasons for other people to hate you."

"Does that make them perfect?" Orianna asked.

"Of course not." Ezreal replied without thinking. "The most perfect any human can be is flawed. It's not right to hate someone for that."

"Why?" Orianna asked. That seemed to be her favorite question. Ezreal found himself without an answer. Without a good one, at least.

"Because no one human is any better than any other. We all have ways we excel, but we may not all be good at the same thing."

"Like the Summoners?" Orianna asked, tilting her head in thought. "Some of them are not good at controlling me. They seem to not know what to do, but others are really good. They act almost exactly like I would."

Ezreal nodded slowly. It was true; not all Summoners excelled at certain roles in the Fields. Like Tanks trying to Carry, for instance.

"It's sort of like that, but not quite." Ezreal said. Orianna cocked her head the other way, The Ball focusing its lens on the Explorer. The blonde continued. "Well, with humans, some people may be strong while others may be smart. Some could be great with words, and some may be better in magic. Some are born leaders, others are Supporters. Part of being human is finding that role."

"That is difficult?" Orianna muttered.

"Very."

Ezreal didn't look at her eyes this time. He rested his chin on the chair back and fidgeted with the blue gem that was the source of most of his magic in the Fields. The source of most of his troubles. If it weren't for this gem, he would have never become a Champion. He would have never left the ruins and caves. He would have never left his mapmaking, never left Piltover. He would never have been thrown in with the Summoners and Champions who ruthlessly kept him segregated from the rest. He would never have made the enemies he had, never have been exposed to other humans. He would be safely hidden in his world of maps and artifacts. He would never have been stuck at the League during the free weeks. He would never have found this lounge. He would never have been snuck up on. He would never have met Orianna. He would have never made this promise.

Actually, it might not have been so bad finding the dumb thing.

Ezreal shook his head to get rid of the thought. He turned his attention back to Orianna. The clockwork dancer was watching him curiously, and he thought he saw a faint smile on her gold plated face.

"What?" Ezreal snapped. Drat. He hadn't tried to sound that rude.

"Nothing." Orianna replied. The Ball turned its lense to face her for a moment before looking back at Ezreal. "Have you found your place yet?"

The blonde sighed. "I don't know."

Orianna nodded silently. The duo sat for a minute or so in silence. Orianna gently pet The Ball, and it chirped in contentment. The Explorer smiled slighly at the sight of the dancer deep in thought. She probably did know more about being human than he did. She was curious enough to learn, at the very least.

"So," Orianna started. She couldn't finish her sentence though, as there was a loud pounding on the door of the lounge. Ezreal's eyes immediately snapped up to focus on the door, and Orianna spun to her feet, the spiked throwing star-like objects she fought with in the Fields ready in her hands.

"No one ever comes to this part of the building," Ezreal muttered, "but that doesn't mean that they can't." He stood cautiously as another bang echoed around the room. Frustrated muttering could be heard from the hallway as whoever was outside found out the lounge door was stuck due to ancient hinges.

Orianna relaxed slightly as her surprise wore off, but kept her weapons at the ready. The Ball bristled with energy as it floated by her shoulder. Ezreal stifled a small inkling of unease that sat in his stomach. Not every sound meant something dangerous was coming.

Unfortunately, when the door collapsed with a loud crack, Ezreal knew this time the something was dangerous.

Extremely so.

"Finally!" the exclamation was an excited one. One that had to kick a door one too many times for his own liking. "You're a tough sucker to track down, you know that, right?"

Ezreal tensed, this was not going to end well. "Orianna, don't just stand ther-"

The blonde was cut off by a sing-song chime of magic as the light blue summoning circle enveloped the Dancer. Orianna shot a scared and confused glance at Ezreal.

"Ezreal, what is going on?" the girl managed.

Ezreal couldn't respond. He was too busy looking for a way out of his increasingly dangerous predicament.

"Dev's right on time," the purple robed intruder laughed. "No one else here to watch your back, blondie."

Ezreal's eyes widened in fear, and he backed up several steps, finally stopping by the lounge wall. Two more agressors entered the small lounge, their presence filling the room with an air of danger.

"Ezreal!" Orianna exclaimed. The summoning spell was almost done now. She only had a few more seconds.

The Explorer met the Dancer's eyes. "Ori, don't come back here after your game. It isn't safe. Don't worry about me, you aren't a part of this."

"I will come back. You had better be waitin-" Orianna was cut off by the spell completing. She vanished in a white beam of light.

Dread settled in Ezreal's gut, and he tried to swallow the feeling down. He knew what was coming, it wasn't the first time he had been cornered like this. He was simply worried about what Orianna would do when she returned and found out what had occured.

The Summoner chuckled. "You preformed horribly that last game, blondie," he hissed. "Time for you to learn the consequences of failing me."

Ezreal set his expression to a static line, and met the Summoner's eyes evenly. "Not without a fight, bastard."

The Summoner laughed loudly, "All the better!"

Ezreal summoned what magic he could as the three enemies approached. He hoped Orianna got back soon. Until she returned, however, he would have to make do.

Orianna waited anxiously for the match to start in the black of the Nexus. Something in her gears didn't feel right. She was—what was it called?—worried for Ezreal. Who were those Summoners? What did they want? Why did they go to Ezreal's lounge? So many questions, and not enough answers.

'Orianna, you ready to win this?'

The Summoner talking was familear to the Dancer. It was Devany, one of her more frequent summoners. Orianna didn't reply.

'Ori? What's wrong?' Devany asked, 'You're not yourself today.'

I am sorry, Orianna replied through the telepathic link, I am worried.

'Worried?' Devany asked, surprised, 'What about?'

Orianna hesitated. Nothing, she finally thought. We will kill your enemies, that will be fun.

'That's more like it!' Devany laughed. 'Let's go win!'

The Clockwork Dancer materialized on Summoner's Rift, and Devany immediately bought the starting inventory Orianna was so used to. As she ran toward the blue golem camp to leash her jungler, as normal, the feeling of unease remained. She sucessfully leashed the jungle Olaf and ran toward mid lane at the call of Devany. It was how things should go, and still the worry remained. As she began her face off against Ziggs, Orianna couldn't stop thinking of Ezreal. Something radiated through her circuitry, something she had never truly felt before.

Anger.

Orianna vaguely heard Devany's chatter in the back of her mind. The Dancer wasn't listening. In one swift movement, the Ball raced toward Ziggs, Dissonance raidiating from it a second later.

"Pulse!" Orianna shouted. She only wished she could have done more damage. Two star throws later, Ziggs was running for his life across the lane.

'Agressive today, aren't you?'

Let us defeat them quickly, Orianna hissed.

'Alright! That's good with me!'

Orianna let herself smile slightly as she commanded the Ball to chase Ziggs once more.

Only twenty minutes later, the enemy team was down four turrets; one in each lane and the second in mid. Orianna was upset that they weren't surrendering yet. At 24 kills and no deaths, she thought they would be scared enough of her to merely end the game. Her team was gathering at mid for a final push. Orianna couldn't help but notice that even her own team was keeping their distance from her. Shen met her gaze levely with a slight nod, Olaf ignored her, Sona gave the Dancer a gentle smile, and Vayne seemed only a little upset that she was being overshadowed by a midlaner. Orianna fixed her eyes down the lane.

"Let us kill," she stated. With that, her team advanced.

After the fight, Orianna had racked up 31 kills and still ran a perfect match. As she reappeared in the Institute, she was congratulated by her allies and enemies alike, albeit nervously. Without replying to any of their congrats, the Dancer gathered the Ball and made her way out of the building at a brisk walk. The crowd gave her plenty of walking room, no one neared her to ask of her hurry. Devany was not in the mass of purple robed Summoners, Orianna knew that much. The Summoner had never been much the one to mingle.

Orianna rushed across the courtyard. She had her mind set on one thing.

Ezreal...

She made her way through the doors to the Champion quarters.

Ezreal...

She pushed past several Champions, but didn't register who they were. Perhaps it was Draven? Maybe Varus? Who knew?

Ezreal!

Orianna was almost sprinting as she turned down the deserted hall that housed the lounge. Ezreal's lounge.

Ezreal!

The worry was back. The anger was back. This time, there was something else too. Something she'd only ever felt in the Fields.

Fear.

The hallway was deserted, the door was in pieces, the lounge was destroyed, and Ezreal was-

"EZREAL!"

A/N: Yay~ I updated! I actually have failed at NaNoWriMo horribly, so... I decided to make it up to myself by writing this. ^^;

So, this is when the story really picks up! Also, I know exactly how and when this will end. There will be 7 chapters in this story. I'm going to try and keep it short and sweet, just like my original short and sweet one-shot that began this whole thing. :3

Also, the Orianna vs Ziggs scene was inspired by Arbiter getting decimated in-lane by an Orianna. I was playing supp that game... it was hilarious. XD

Anyway, if anyone can tell me what the trick is to how I'm naming these chapters, you can get a Summoner cameo in Balancing the Void, my next League fanfic! You can probably guess by looking at the first few chapters, but it will likely get easier to notice as the story progresses.

Aw drat... forgot to add this when I first updated. The Summoner call is still open. If anyone would like to name one of the three Summoners that showed up in this chapter, please do. I have no idea who they are, so they are totally up for grabs. Let the adoptions begin! XD

Anyway, a new chapter coming soon! Bug me if it isn't out in a week or two! XD
