I do not own the amazing doctor who, or the also amazing Avengers. if i did i wouldn't be here.. well maybe i would, but that's not the point.

Last time~

"Wait!" the doctor yelled as the avengers were about to bust out and destroy their captures. Then to the natives the doctor said "Excuse me, but this seems to be some sort of mistake."

"No. No mistake." one of the natives said. "We have caught you. You are now ours." he said as a matter of factly.

"I am no one's!" Thor rumbled as he destroyed a section of the net.

"Uh, I'm going to have to agree with him on this one." Tony said as he activated his suit and destroyed more of the net, along with a tree.

The leader's eyes widened considerably when Tony did this. The leader quickly assessed the situation knowing that lives were now on the line. The natives quickly realized their chances of success without fatalities were decreasing with each moment. The leader gave a signal and the large group quickly began to return to the dense foliage around the clearing.

"Oh, you just had to go and do that, Didn't you. Americans and their guns." The doctor all but shouted at Tony while waving his arms around rather furiously. "And you," The Doctor began as he spun to face the Asgardian with an expression of near absolute disappointment. "I expected something like this from some of the others, but I am truly better from you." The doctor sighed and gently shook his head.

He then turned to the Avengers and began to address them all. "Out here, you may see things that are simply impossible, that may make absolutely no sense to you, or even go against everything you stand for and believe. But know this. Out here you represent the Earth, not America, not the good guys. No, All of Earth, all of its people, and all of Asgard respectfully. You are what they will judge the Earth by. You have to be the best, no, you have to be better than the best. There are few chances for second chances out here." the Doctor finished.

It was about halfway through his little speech that an almost florescent pink fog began to roll in. The Doctor recognized what it was almost immediately.

Rory, and Hawkeye dropped towards the ground almost simultaneously. Amy caught her Roman, but Hawkeye just ate dirt.

"Doctor!" Amy forced out as she held on tightly to her Rory. She had lost him too many times for it to happen again.

"Don't panic!" The Doctor began as Amy, and the avengers were about to pounce with a barrage of questions. "Sit down somewhere and get comfortable, because you can't escape it now. It's just a matter of time, and no it is not deadly, it will just knock us out for a few hours tops." He assured the conscious portion of the group as he helped Amy down to the ground. She, Bruce, Widow, and Tony were now all barley awake.

Amy complied weakly and her head barley touched the ground before she was out. River helped Widow and Bruce down as they were both now out as well. Tony's suit kept him standing despite him already being unconscious.

"Doctor..." Thor began, he was already feeling the fog's affects. He had not expected the gas to take affect so quickly with him. He had only been exposed to this fog for five minutes maximum.

"We'll be fine. I promise." The doctor said, not just to the clearly worried Asgardian, but also to his superior officer, and last standing team mate.

Steve and Agent Coulson nodded fully trusting that this man knew what he was talking about. Thor accepted this with a short nod and sat down against a tree as well. Shortly it was just the Doctor and River left awake.

"Looks like it's just you and me left sweetie." River said as she slid down against a tree.

The Doctor sat down next to her and just held her hand as she too drifted off into slumber. The two of them stayed that way for only a minute or two before River was passed out like the others were.

The doctor closed his eyes knowing that he will be fast asleep as well any minute now. The fog began to quickly dissipate making it easier for him to resist its affects. The natives came back from the jungle almost as quickly as they had left.

The doctor's eyes snapped open when the natives began to reach out to inspect their catch.

"You dare harm a single hair on any of their heads, and you will have me to deal with." The Doctor said with a shocking amount of authority even for him. Gone was the fun and childish boy and in his place was a fierce and rather reluctant warrior dead set on preventing his now numerous companions from receiving harm. He continued to glare when his eyes cleared and showed trust as his eyes then gave up on him and he drifted off into a deep slumber.

The natives did not move for a full three minutes out of shock, and even some out of fear. This man was still conscious after receiving the full affects of the fog for easily ten minutes and still had the power to command such authority. This was not a man to mess with.
