The girls stepped into the cool September air when the train pulled to a stop. They wrapped their saffron yellow robes around themselves and hurried towards the carriages in order to escape the wind that had picked up. They climbed into the first carriage they saw and sat down.

"Ahh, peace and quiet. Now, let's hope that no one joins us and we can relax and talk and-" Hannah began but was cut off as a boy with bronze hair and slightly tanned complexion climbed in.

"Mind if I join?" He asked.

Hannah was too busy glaring at the boy and Susan was too busy blushing, so Odalie answered.

"Not at all." Odalie smiled as she elbowed Hannah, who grudgingly budged up.

"Thanks," The boy said as the carriage jolted and began to move.

"You going to try out this year, Odalie?" Susan whispered as to not be heard but was.

"You play?" The boy asked turning his brown orbes in Odalie's direction.

"Yeah, when I get the chance." Odalie answered.

"She any good?" The boy asked Susan and Hannah

"Very. She's very good, Cedric." Susan answered quickly.

Cedric chuckled. "Then try out." Cedric said looking at Odalie before climbing out of the carriage as they arrived at school.

"We just shared a carriage with Cedric Diggory." Susan said to herself.

"Yeah, big deal. Let's go." Hannah said climbing out. Odalie frowned to herself before following after Hannah.

"Hannah! Wait up!" Odalie said as she raced towards the girl. "What's up? You seem upset."

"It's nothing." Hannah mumbled.

"Is it Su?" Odalie asked and got a nod in reply.

"I'm never going to be the one she wants, I mean he was all she could talk about. I have no chance." Hannah said dejectedly.

"We have three years left, Hannah. A lot can happen in that time." Odalie said comfortingly.

"What part of wait for me do you two not understand?" Susan asked breathlessly as she reached the two girls before she grabbed both by their wrists and dragged them into the Great Hall.

Odalie's favourite place in Hogwarts had to be the Hufflepuff Common Room but the Great Hall was a definite second.

The four house tables lined the width of the hall like a platoon of soldiers, each one decorated in either saffron, ruby, emerald or sapphire. The candles floated in the starry night sky like beacons of hope and the loud chatter of students lined it's walls like a protective barrier.

The three Hufflepuff's made their way to their respective table and joined their friends Ernie and Justin.

"Ladies," Ernie said as the girls sat down.

"Gentlemen," Odalie replied with a smirk. "So, was the Quidditch World Cup boring and uneventful?" Odalie continued which earned her a glare from both boys.

"You know fully well, it wasn't." Susan replied, jokingly punching Odalie on the arm.

Odalie let out a small laugh. "If your letter was anything to go by I thought you would have witnessed another Revolution." She added.

"When was there a first one?" Justin asked to which Odalie rolled her eyes.

"If you had paid attention in History you would know, Binns does occasionally stop talking about Goblins every month or so." Odalie said with a playfull smirk.

"To talk about what?" Hannah asked but before she could get a reply, the doors to the Great Hall opened and a small line of first years wandered in.

Once the first years had been sorted and sat down, everyone tucked into the delicious feast in front of them. Only once the last person had finished did Dumbledore stood up immediately gaining the attention of the whole school.

"So, I must ask for your attention, while I give out a few notices. Mr Filch, the caretaker, has asked me to tell you that the list of objects forbidden inside the castle has this year been extended so that the full list, which can be viewed in Mr Filch's office, contains some four hundred and thirty- seven items, I believe. As ever, I would like to remind you all that the Forest in the grounds is out-of-bounds to students, as is the village of Hogsmeade to all below third year. It is also my painful duty to inform you that the inter-house Quidditch Cup will not take place thid year,"

At this news, majority of the hall broke into angry whispers.

"He can't!" Cedric exclaimed with Odalie nodding in agreement due to being a big Quidditch fan herself.

Dumbledore, though, continued. "This is due to an event starting in October and continuing throughout the school year. It is an international event and the delegations from the other two schools will be arriving in October at which point, I shall be explaining about this event further but, it is now getting late and I know how important it is to you all to be alert and rested as you enter your lessond tomorrow morning. Bedtime! Chop Chop!"

There was a lot of banging and scraping as students swarmed out of the doors to head to their common rooms. Every person was either talking about one of two things: that there was no Quidditch or what was starting in October.
