After a few days the training scores were in and I was nervous to find out what Katniss got. I was also sad as I knew some were going to die and if Katniss doesn't win I hope that Rue from 11 does as she is my age. Finally it got to Katniss and I tightly crossed my fingers wondering what she had got and the number 11 came up on the screen. I couldn't believe my eyes. The highest you could was 12 and she beat the careers! I was so proud that she got that it took me a while before I realised the down side to it. She got a high score which made her a target. The careers target.
I explained what I had thought to mum and she nodded trying to hold back the tears and I hugged her wishing that I didn't feel the same. I hope that Katniss will get an ally, to help her, to protect her. It cant be easy for anyone in the hunger games even the careers probably don't want to kill people. Especially not people like Rue.
Why does tomorrow have to happen why do people have to die. Please survive tomorrow Katniss and please if you can help Rue survive too.
