The Tragic Reaping
Me and Dixie walk down the small hall way into the living room, in matching pale yellow dresses. Mum French plates our hair and ties it with a yellow ribbon. She gives us a big hug.
"Ok girls, time to walk down to the square, now you to, stick together and after the reaping we will go out for a treat and get some yummy cakes from the bakery." She tells us in her sweet loving voice.
Me and Dix walk together and mum shortly behind us. She then breaks off as we go and get in line to sign off. Dix takes my hand and we never let go until I'm called forward. They take a small amount of blood. Then Doc catches up with me. We get a lot of attention because we are the only twins in District 4.
A Capitol lady comes out, her name is Thea.
"Welcome! Welcome! Now! Lets get this quarter quell on the road!"
She steps over to a big glass ball, filled with names of 6-11 boys and girls.
"Ok, well, our first lucky tribute is... Dixie Littlewood! Come on up dear." What?! My twin? No. No i can't be! We only just turned 6 today! No!
She stumbles up the stairs
"Aww well aren't you the sweety! How old are you Dixie." Thea says.
"I-I am s-six. I-it is my b-birthday t-today." She replies.
Thea looks like shes about to cry, gets out a tissue and wipes her eyes.
"H-happy birthday..." She says in a dull sad voice.
"Our next tribute is..." She still says in a sad voice.
She lets out a gasp and a loud "no..."
"Our next tribute is... Charm Littlewood" She says and she bursts into tears when she sees me walk up onto the stage.
"Y-you to are t-twins?" She says.
Me and Dix nod. Thea runs away onto the train, waiting behind the stage, crying her eyes out. Then 2 peace keepers take us onto the train.
