Hmm, I decided that this wasn't finished so I added this one little third chapter to kind of tie everything together. Please can I have one little review? Just one...

Neither Rupert nor Luke had expected to find themselves having any kind of comfortable relationship, not with the years of silence and lies and the freaks in the way, but they managed to surprise themselves. It was something that no one else quite managed to understand but it was there in the defensive and protective stance Galvin took in front of Luke and the slight hero worship that Luke looked upon his godfather with, when he was sure that others weren't looking. It was in the way that they managed to communicate without words when taking down a freak, so obvious that even Mina could see it.

They always threw sarcastic barbs at each other and were more likely to be found insulting each other than praising their capabilities or thanking them for saving the other's life by taking out a freak. The pair spent more time glaring at each other than regarding each other fondly, even more so when on the subject of training. But nonetheless, the pair had a strong bond.

After all Luke hadn't had a hero apart from his dad for his whole life, and Rupert wasn't the kind to bring anyone grapes, godson or not.
