Disclaimer: Don't won Inuyasha or Ramen, which is delicious by the way

As the first feeble light of the sun poked it's way over the horizon to cast a glow on the western forest, Sesshomaru proved true to his word and with a slight nudge of his booted foot to the sleeping mass curled up in fabric, he harshly said, "Human, get up, it's time to move."

Kagome, with her eyes still closed, only sank further into the realm of sleep, burrowed deeper into her pillow and blankets. That certainly was not the right thing to do.

And instant later all the warmth was gone around her, and the familiar feeling of a strong hand wrapped around her throat replaced it. Kagome could only sigh, and sleepily and breathlessly (he was still trying to strangle her), muttered out his newfound weakness.

"Sit."

An instant later they were both on the ground, Sesshomaru having taken Kagome's tiny body down with him, although she did not hit the ground nearly as hard as him, much to his displeasure. Kagome managed to slip away from him as he pulled himself up growling, smirking to herself as she began to fold up her sleeping bag.

"That wouldn't have happened if you hadn't been so hasty, jeez! I was getting up, you didn't have to be so impatient!" she reprimanded him, listening to him growl again as she pulled out of her massive—and quite atrocious—yellow backpack a cup of instant Ramen. Turning back to look at him, she gestured towards the now dead fire. "Could you maybe start that again?"

He glared at her slightly, narrowing his eyes. "We do not have the time."

"Yes, we do actually. I'm not leaving this clearing without my breakfast." She fought back, "It won't even take that long; just three minutes, ok?"

"Woman, we don't-"

"Yes, we do," she cut him off, nearly smirking at the growl he gave. He really liked doing that didn't he? "And by the way, my name's Kagome, not human or woman, Lord Sesshomaru."

At this point, Lord Sesshomaru was really starting to wonder about his sanity. What had possibly made him give into her demands?! Why had he agreed to his stupid promise not to kill her?! This girl, and her defiance, were grating at his nerves in a way no other had, and he was helpless—the rosary around his neck was his prison, his, dammit, collar. To make such mockery of Sesshomaru…

But he started the fire again, just to shut her up and get something done. With a crack of his light whip on the still intact logs, a roaring fire was started, and with his deed done the lord went to the corner of the clearing, furthest from her, to sulk.

He really didn't know how funny he was. Kagome repressed a fit of giggles as she stared over at the rigid back of her companion, placing the cup of noodles over the fire. As she watched them boil, she could not help but think of Inuyasha; Ramen was his favorite food after all. And she had brought along so many cups…Her eyes wandered back over to the tense demonic lord across the clearing from her, and she raised a brow in thought. He probably wouldn't dare eat human food, but Kagome had a way when it came to persuading people.

"Hey Sess…I mean, Lord Sesshomaru…DO you want any Ramen? I have extra…"

"What makes you think this Sesshomaru wants to eat your filthy human food?" he replied coldly without turning around, and he could all but feel her pouting at him.

"It's not 'filthy', it's good! How can you say that about something you've never tried? Or…" She smirked, a devilish plan forming in her mind. Sesshomaru could not stand it when his pride was insulted; she had to aim for the pride. "Or are you afraid to try it, milord. Are you really afraid to just take a risk and try some? Hm, I didn't know that Ramen scared you so…"

"I am not afraid, human" he sharply replied, "I just do not want to sully my taste buds on your rancid food."

"But how do you know it's rancid?" she took the warm cup off of the fire and held it up to her nose and inhaled the aroma. "Smells really good to me! Don't you think it smells good?"

"Human, you are-"

"Look, I'll only shut up if you try some! I know a demon that absolutely adores this stuff!" She knew that mentioning that demon as being Inuyasha would not go down well with Sesshomaru, who detested everything his brother liked simply because, well, Inuyasha liked it, Inuyasha.

If Sesshomaru guessed it was Inuyasha, he did not say, instead stalking back across the clearing toward her in what Kagome would call a 'royal hissy fit.' As he stopped in front of her and glared down at her, she merely smiled happily and held the cup up to him, watching with dancing bright eyes as he discreetly sniffed at it.

"Go on, try it! Just raise the cup to your lips…" She let him grab it from her, his golden eyes staring into hers the whole time.

"Human, this food is odd. What do you call it?"

"Oh, I'm glad to see you've taken an interest!"

"Don't test me, girl, what is this?"

"It's called Ramen, and it's from my, uh, village. Now drink, go on, try it!"

Sesshomaru did not know what to expect as he raised the silly, frail thing that she called a cup to his lips, but the blast of flavor certainly took him by surprise. It tasted sort of spicy, and was deliciously warm, and…and damned if he did not like it. He made sure his sip was quick and short however, his face carefully and meticulously blank as he lowered the cup and handed it back to her. She was beaming at him, watching him intensely for any type of reaction that he refused to give. At length she asked, "Well? How was it?"

It was not in his character to lie, so he merely raised a brow and looked away out into the sunlit forest beyond her. "It was decent."

"You liked it!" she suddenly squealed, and he winced from the assault the sound was on his ears. Damn this woman was loud!

"Admit it, admit it, you liked it! See, what did I say? I told you you would! Now, what do you say? I believe it's a 'thank you' for graciously allowing you to try my breakfast."

Sesshomaru resisted the urge to snort. "You did not 'allow' me to try it, you forced me too."

"Yes, but you still took it from me, you still tried it!"

"By force."

"No, you willingly took it from me; I did not push it into your hands!"

"You almost did."

"No, I did not."

"I believe you did."

"Well you 'believe' wrong!"

His eyes narrowed. "Human, do not presume you know more than me."

Kagome just rolled her eyes. "Look, I'm getting pretty sick of this. You tried it, you liked it, now leave me alone so that I can eat my breakfast."

"I believe you were the one that called me over here."

"Yes, and now I'm dismissing you!"

"You do not have the right to dismiss me, human." He rumbled, towering over her impressively. Kagome only rolled her eyes again and turned away from his intimidating stance to go over and sit by Kilala, curling up against the fire cat and ignoring the glare Sesshomaru was trying to kill her with.

Sesshomaru was still silently seething and glaring frigidly at her when she finished her Ramen minutes later, listening as she hummed a merry little tune to herself as she put her bag on her back. She walked over to her sleeping friends and bit her lip. It had taken a lot of strength on her part to lift Sango and Miroku from Kilala before, and she was sure she could not do it again.

"Hey Sesshomaru?" she looked back over to her cold companion, who stared back at her in a lethal stare she did not even flinch at. "Can you put Sango and Miroku on Kilala? Gently put them on her, that is; if you hurt them, I'll S-I-T your ass into oblivion."

"You do not threaten me, miko; you never will."

"Look, you're the one that said we had to get moving, so buddy, get moving! Come on, just do it!"

As much as Sesshomaru loathed that he was following her orders, he nonetheless strode over to her unconscious companions, and effortlessly plucked them up to place them gently on the cat demon's back. Once he was done, he quickly stepped away, wishing he could wash his hands after handling such filth, and turned back to his wonderful little companion with gritted teeth and narrowed eyes. She just smiled at him, giggling merrily to herself as she followed behind him as he strode towards the trees, the demon cat taking up the rear and following her.

He tried to be oblivious to her as they entered the forest, making their way past trees and bushes alike, but she just would not allow herself to be ignored. She began to hum that infernal tune again, and he was pretty sure that soon his ears would begin to ache from it. After several minutes of bearing her unbearable humming, he finally snapped. Whirling around, he snarled into her still smiling face. "Miko, do shut up!"

"Oh what?" she blinked at him, all innocence. "You don't like my song?" He was contemplating trying to strangle her again when she suddenly skipped past him, still humming, and called back over her shoulder. "Well come on milord, we don't have all day for you to bitch me out!"

And suddenly, he was the one following the leader, the miko.

It was kind of an abrupt ending but I wanted to make this chapter a light hearted one before things got dark. Please Review!
