Edmund
Edmund Pevensie was a shield. His name, meaning "protector", fit him quite well. Edmund wasn't the warrior Peter was, but Peter was older, stronger, and a natural swordsman. Edmund learned to be in command of his temper, so that he controlled it, it didn't control him. He protected Narnia, not only on the battlefield, but in court, with his sharp mind and his even sharper tongue, sparring verbally with ambassadors, diplomats, and the occasional obstinate soldier. His reputation as a judge, ambassador, and diplomat grew steadily and fast. In essence, Edmund was a protector: firm, guarded, and a quick thinker.
