On their way to John Finch's house, Lucifer phone rang. He looked at the phone and it was Maze. He sighed "I haven't told her I am back." He looked at Chloe with an eye roll and then answered "Yes, hello Mazekin. Yes I am here. Sorry for not calling. Yes, I know I should have seen you before Linda. I needed to speak with her about other matters. No need to be jealous Maze. I will stop by Lux later so we can talk. I am on a case with the detective. Yes, a case. Okay, now Maze I'll speak with you later."

Chloe only heard Lucifer's side of the call but it spiked her interest when he said he had seen the doctor. "So you saw Linda today?"

Lucifer looked at her curiously trying to figure out what she was getting at. "Yes, I stopped by her office."

"Oh uh okay. Well if there is anything you want to talk about, I'm here." Chloe hopes he feels comfortable with her. She thought they had already been through all of this. Why would he stop by his therapist's office? Is that a part of his business?

"I know Chloe." Wait, he used her name, not the title he always uses. Her detective instincts were tingling.

His phone rang again. It was Amenadiel. "Sorry I need to take this." He answered "hello brother. Did you find anything on the information I sent you? Interesting, okay I will stop by as soon as possible." He hung up the phone and was silent in thought.

"Do you need to go? You seem to have a lot going on." Chloe hoped he says no but what if it has to do with him staying. She will be glad to see him go if that means he can come back later and be here forever.

"Yes, I will need to go after we stop by Finch's house. I know I said my priority is the case but I need to visit my brother."

They pulled up to the house. They introduced themselves and at first, John was a bit reluctant after hearing the detective's partner's name but nodded and opened the door. When they walked inside, the house was filled with religious candles, had posters of Jesus and crosses hanging all around the house. Lucifer would usually use this chance to talk about his father but instead he was studying all of the items as if he were looking for something. There was a bookshelf that he was interested in. It had multiple pictures, participation awards, and medals for games. The pictures were of the two men involved in the church and the community, some of the other members of the church, and one of the men and the pastor.

"So what can you tell me about Eric?"

"He was a great guy. We grew up together in different homes. While not biological, he was a brother to me. We went to church together and he was great with the community. We did everything together. Always giving away his money to charities, especially those that concentrated on foster kids and orphanages. We have his memorial at the church tomorrow. Do you have any updates?" John was calm when he spoke. He kept watching Lucifer as if he were going to turn into a devil but kept his cool. If only he knew, Chloe thought.

"Can you think of anyone who would kill him?" Chloe asking the normal investigative questions.

"I am guessing it was the cult he joined. He turned away from our Lord and savior a couple of months ago and hasn't been acting the same. That cult is full of sins. I tried getting him to come back to the church but he wouldn't listen." He spoke with disgust regarding the cult. The calm face he has minutes ago changed to anger when he thought about his brother leaving.

"Detective? Can I borrow you?" Chloe went to see what Lucifer was looking at. There was a space on the bookshelf that seemed to have an award there but the space was empty. "Does this match the description of the circular base Ms. Lopez mentioned?" Chloe nodded.

"John? Was there an award here?" He walked over and looked with them.

"Yes actually. It was an award Eric had won with the team of kids he was mentoring. We have field days with the kids twice a year at the church. That was from the 2018 games." John actually seemed curious to why it was missing. He started looking around as if maybe it had fallen somehow. "I am just not sure where it would have gone to. I host bible studies Wednesdays with the kids and Sundays with the adults. I have people walking through my house constantly. Eric almost moved out because the members kept speaking with him about coming back to the church. I convinced him to stay but he was gone most of the time anyways. I am guessing with his new friends." He spit out the word 'friends'.

"Lucifer.." Chloe moved her head to John and gave him a look as to say she wanted him to do his mojo.

"Right, of course." He turned to John and looked him in his eyes. "What is it you truly desire?" John was hesitant at first. He wasn't sure what was happening.

"I….I...just want to honor my brother's death." John blinked out of the stare and looked away wondering what had just happened. He looked at Lucifer and started to back away. Chloe shook her head knowing that statement wouldn't help the way she was originally hoping.

"Alright we are going to need to bring a search team here to see if the award is in the house. I will call Ella and have her come over as well. She needs to verify if that award is a match. Also, John I am going to need a list of all of the members who have been to your bible studies."

John nodded. "We actually have sign in sheets that members must fill out before getting dinner that we provide. I can get those for you." He left to go to his office to retrieve the sign in sheets.

"Lucifer?" She looked over and saw Lucifer staring at a picture of an angel. She started to walk over. "What is it?"

He looked away from the picture. "Oh nothing. I'll let you take care of the boring stuff. Let me know if you need anything." He started to walk away but Chloe touched him on the shoulder and he stopped in his tracks. He turned to her with an explanation. "I need to see my brother." He looked back at the direction John went. He realized he needs to stay with his partner just in case. "I can stay until your team gets here." He gave her a small but tight smile.

The team and Ella arrived to help with the search so Lucifer slipped out. He found a cop who had just arrived and persuaded him to drop him off at the precinct. Lucifer got to his car and was on his way to see his brother.

Lucifer met with his brother and discussed his plan. He felt hopeful to the outcome. This plan might actually work. He just made it to Lux and went up the elevator to the penthouse with his suit jacket slung over his shoulder. He walked straight to the bar, threw his coat over the bar stool, and went to pour himself a drink when he heard movement. He looked up and saw his beautiful partner. He lost his breathe. Of course he had already seen her today but for some reason her surprising him at his home just took over his emotions.

"Hey." Chloe got up from the couch and started walking towards him. Lucifer gathered himself and looked at her with curiosity in his face.

"So I went home after they searched the house and Dan had Trixie so I was home alone. I thought about why your here. Why are you here? Are you okay? Who is watching over hell? Are demons coming back? I thought Amenadiel closed the gates? What business do you keep running off to take care of? Are we in danger?"

Lucifer cut her off. "Detective." Worry showed in his eye. His partner was anxious. He should have known she would be more affected by him just showing up.

She paused and took a breathe. "Then I realized you're here. You're actually here. On Earth, in LA. So I came over." She looked at him sheepishly. She was displaying her emotions for him. Her eyes looking at him with love and hope. "Is that ok?"

Lucifer walked up to her and put his hand on her cheek soaking in the moment. He leaned down and gave her a slow kiss. His emotions came flooding back. He had questioned everything today. His thoughts on whether he should stay in hell vanished. This was it. It was her. Those six years were in his past and she was his future.
