A few weeks after the Hibari Incident as Harry made his way to school he couldn't shake the feeling of something happening today. Past experience had taught Harry to listen to his instincts. Harry made sure his magic focusing bracelet was on one arm, fastened a short dagger to the other, and stared at his Baretta 9mm handgun pensively. Though his skill with all three were rudimentary at best, Harry felt better having them at hand. He had acquired them all since relocating to Japan…though the gun was much like the gun he had stolen from Dudley two and a half years ago. The same one that killed Voldemort. Harry's hands shook as he holstered the gun in the back of his trousers.

Harry's habitual quietness turned to a tense and still silence. His unease must have shown despite his attempts to keep his movements fluid like his sensei was teaching him, and his face calm. Tsuna kept shooting the silent boy concerned and confused looks. At lunch Harry didn't even touch his food instead focusing on the landscape of the roof and fiddling with his bracelet. He didn't stir until Tsuna jabbed at his side with an elbow.

Harry jerked as if slapped and blinked as if coming out of a dream, "Sorry, kid. I just feel like something is going to happen today." Harry muttered

The brittle silence descended again making Tsuna twitch, "Would you like to come over for dinner again?" Tsuna asked trying to allay the boy's fears.

"Please." Harry breathed thankfully

That evening when Reborn appeared it took everything in Harry not to pull out a weapon, any weapon, upon feeling those dark eyes. As it was Harry's eyes were swimming with shadows and mist as Tsuna made his objections. Reborn watched Tsuna for quite some time before moving his eyes to the person watching intently. They tried to get each other's measure. Harry was the first to break the silence between them.

"A pleasure, Reborn-san." Harry said quietly holding out his hand for the other male to shake.

"Indeed." Reborn nodded and shook Harry's hand. Harry frowned as his skin met Reborn's hand. There was a strange feel about the man. Almost like a static electricity. Harry was convinced it was a man despite his appearance. For all Harry was largely untrained, he would bet it was magical. A toddler in a fedora? Of course it was magical. A curse to make him an infant? Maybe. Harry's thoughts were interrupted by the departure of Nana-san.

When the three males were alone they stared at each other for a moment. Then Reborn said the phrase that threw a spanner into the plans of living a quiet life.

"I'm here to train you as a mafia boss Dame-Tsuna."

Tsuna squeaked, he was pale and seemed to be a moment away from fainting. Reborn pulled out a gun, and pointed at Tsuna. Harry was only heartbeat behind him with his seeker speed, but he pointed his gun at Reborn.

Reborn smirked "It looks like you already have a subordinate."

"He has an over-protective friend with anger issues, a history of violence, and a gun pointed at your head." Harry hissed, narrowing his eyes. Rage was pounding through his veins from a pocket of his soul he couldn't quite place. He wasn't bluffing. In his mind you take out a weapon only if you are prepared to use it. And with the way he was feeing, he was almost looking for an excuse "Aim elsewhere."

Reborn's smirk deepened "Oh-ho how interesting." Reborn put his gun up, his intent having born fruit.

Shock staggered Harry, his powerful emotions coming to an abrupt tangle. Incredulously he asked, "You wanted me to almost kill you?"

Reborn tilted his fedora to hide a smile "Yes. As my charge is in some kind of horrible shock, I wanted to see if you would defend him. You passed."

Harry growled tempted to argue with the man more, but Reborn was right Tsuna was in shock. Harry went over to his friend yanking him off the floor roughly, the boy was limp in his arms, staring at nothing. Harry frowned, worried. He tried to remember what people did to give each other comfort. In the end Harry settled for a clumsy hug, patting Tsuna unsurely.

"You're safe." Harry said quietly "It'll be alright."

Slowly more color seeped back into Tsuna's face and his eyes gained their usual shine. He looked up at Harry blankly for a moment before the memories of what had freaked him out came rushing back.

"Hieee! Guns!" Tsuna sprang up almost crashing heads with Harry.

"They're put away." Reborn's voice said blankly as he watched the interaction.

"Aki…you carry a gun?" Tsuna turned to Harry, his eyes wide with confusion.

"Not always." Harry muttered quietly. He waited, waited for the rejection. For the betrayal. It surely had been coming; even Tsuna wouldn't accept a wreck like Harry.

"So when you took that beating for me?" Tsuna asked in a small voice

Harry looked up, that was … not the question he expected. "I wasn't armed... But there was no way in Hell that I was about to let you get hurt. What about it, kid?"

Tsuna's eyes lowered "Why would someone like you protect a loser?"

"What did I say about calling yourself a loser?" Harry growled standing and pulling the other to his feet by the collar of his shirt.

"You'd kick my ass from here to Toky-ow!" Tsuna squeaked rubbing his ass, where Harry had quite literally kicked it. Harry repeated this motion until they got to the kitchen and the boy in question cried uncle. Or rather said, "I'm not a loser," in a convincing tone.

Nana just smiled as they passed the kitchen, it was a common scene. She was glad that someone like Aki-chan was looking out for her son . After the older boy took him under his wing, Tsuna had stopped skipping classes so much, and seemed happier. Maybe with Reborn's help Tsuna will grow even more!

Reborn at that point was still upstairs, laughing his ass off. His charge had a long way to go, but it looked like someone was already working on making the boy into something.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::

When the boys made their way upstairs Tsuna rubbed his very sore ass, and flopped down on his bed, belly first. Harry smiled slightly to himself and sat leaning against the bed.

"Mafia boss eh?" Harry asked with a speculative look

Reborn nodded, and Tsuna Hieeed. Harry just turned and smacked him on the butt. This increased the Hiee.

Tsuna groaned into his pillow. "You're so mean Aki!"

"Not as mean as I am." Reborn said, watching them with amusement.

"Do you want to do this?" Harry asked Tsuna

"No! I don't want to be a mafia boss!"

"Is the mafia thing avoidable in any way?" Harry asked bluntly while Tsuna continued having his meltdown.

"No." Reborn said seriously watching Harry for a reaction.

The boy just looked pained, the expression flickered over his features quickly enough that if Reborn hadn't been looking for it even he would have missed it. Interesting.

Harry rubbed his notable scar absently lost in thought, none of them good. He leveled a look at Reborn, "What family?"

"-Hiee gah! No I won't do it-!" Tsuna had gotten louder in his distress, Harry whacked him on the butt again while Reborn answered.

"Vongola."

"Italian?" Harry sighed frowning for a moment as if puzzling something out. "And they sent a cursed man to train him? Why him? Why a normal Japanese boy?"

"Blood." Reborn said vaguely as his mind recovered from the effect of being called a cursed man.

Harry started muttering darkly to himself under his breath. He cursed the mafia, the Vongola, the blood ties, and the -

"Old man?" Reborn smirked overhearing him

"You heard me." Harry snapped

"I'm not that old." Grumbled Reborn making Harry laugh, a rusty but sweet sound.

"If you say so." His laughter faded and his face turned thoughtful. "I reckon I should leave so you guys can bond… or whatever it is hitman home tutors do. Mind walking me out Reborn-san?"

Reborn's curiosity was piqued, he nodded and walked out the door leaving Tsuna temporarily to his hysterics. The overwrought boy didn't even notice them leaving. Reborn leaned against the wall of the hallway. Harry rested on his haunches across from Reborn so they were closer to eye-level. Reborn appreciated the gesture but didn't let it show.

"What is it you wanted to say?" Reborn asked gruffly

"He's a good kid, don't break him."

"Now why would you think he'd be broken?" Reborn tilted his head as he asked

"Because once, I was a good kid too." Harry muttered blushing faintly. He averted his face away to recompose himself before turning back to Reborn. Harry held out his hand once again "Like I said, it's a pleasure. I'll see you around tomorrow?"

Reobrn nodded with a smirk and shook the hand. "Welcome to the Family."
