Hey guys! I apologize for taking SO long to update! This is a short chapter, but I hope you enjoy it! (And don't worry, this is not the end. ;) )

They landed in their yard again. Their front yard this time.

Without a word, Carl parked them a good eighty-five (maybe ninety) yards away from the mansion.

The fear in Wilbur's gut tightened to a sickening level.

"So…" he began, needing to fill the silence. "Should we get ou-"

A massive burst of light exploded into being - with overwhelming, instantaneous force. For two full seconds, Wilbur didn't - couldn't - wrap his mind around what was happening...and then all at once, his mind cleared and time seemed to freeze.

His house was on fire.

Bright orange and gold flames were consuming the observatory - Wilbur felt something twist inside his chest. He couldn't breath and he had to fight to not scream out in panic.

The Robinson mansion was burning.

His gaze flew wildly around the grounds - searching, searching…

There. He saw himself again.

Older Wilbur stood stock still, staring blankly into the burning mess. He turned away-towards the invisible Time Machine - and Wilbur watched his older self cover his face and let out a stifled, anguished sob. "I'm sorry, Dad. I'm so sorry."

"Wait," Wilbur choked, throwing Carl a helpless look. "What did I...Did I do this?"

Carl didn't answer; he was staring out towards the house.

At first Wilbur though he was staring into space, but then he realized Carl was looking at the front doors. The family was cascading outside - coughing, borderline panicked. Wilbur's gaze glued to his family. Time seemed like it switched into slow-motion mode - it felt as vivid and unreal as a 5D movie.

Carl gave a slow sigh. "You betrayed us. You left, joined the Anti-TodayLanders. And they gained the information to infiltrate your dad's system and disengage the sprinklers...through you." He shook his head. "I didn't want to tell you, but I did."

Mom looked over her shoulder towards the time machine - Wilbur inwardly jolted, but she wasn't looking at them.

Oh.

She was looking for Older Wilbur.

Wilbur felt overwhelming - strangling - remorse flash straight to his heart. He swallowed.

"So, it was me," he said quietly. It was a statement, not a question.

Carl nodded. He motioned to Fork-Finder, sleekly plugged into the Time Machine's dashboard. "It's not the only option, you know - you get to choose what path you go down on."

The observatory collapsed - sparks and flames shot wildly upwards. The inanimate fire was taunting him, Wilbur knew it.

"We should get out and take a closer look," Carl said quietly.

Wilbur didn't want to. He so didn't want to.

But he unbuckled and nodded anyway.
