Abbey woke up earlier than she would have wished. It was still dark outside, and the moon could be seen going down behind a hill. She uncovered herself from her blankets, and stood up. She moved to the door, and opened it. She saw Jack standing there.

"What now?!" She yelled in a whisper. "Going to kidnap me, aren't you?"

"No, actually I was going to tell you that if you want on that boat, you better go now." Jack replied smoothly, playing off the temptation to be free.

"Why would I want that?" She asked, hiding the fact that she really did want it.

"Oh, I don't know... Maybe some freedom?" Jack moved from her door, and went back into the guest room. Abbey closed the door and went back to her bed. Maybe I do want that...

*-Dawn-*

Hulk walked down the hallway of his house, creaking on each floorboard. He opened the door to Abbey's room, and stepped in.

"Abbey, its time to wake up. We're going to need you when we start loading the ship." Hulk moved out of her room, and walked towards the kitchen to prepare a meal. Abbey got up out of her bed quickly, already dressed in her normal archer outfit. She grabbed her bow, and walked out her door. Abbey made her way to the dining room and sat in one of the chairs. Jack soon followed.

"I'm glad to see you ready Abbey." Anna said, popping out of the kitchen with a plate of small sausages.

"Good morning." Jack greeted Anna with a smile while saying this. Abbey was still disgusted by Jacks smooth attitude, he had once cut deep gashes into her. Hulk came out of the kitchen holding a plate of flat bread, sweetened with honey. He sat down, and passed out a few to each plate.

"So Jack, the ship will be loaded today," Hulk announced, "and you can leave either today or tommorow."

"Is anyone else going with the company we sent as reinforcements?" Abbey asked.

"No... Why?" Hulk replied in question.

"Shouldn't we send at least one person from the chiefs family?" As Abbey asked this, Jack coughed and choked, but then was fine.

Looking back at Abbey, Hulk answered, "yes, we should... I'll go myself."

With a disappointed look, Abbey resumed eating her flat bread. She finished and put her plate in a wash basin stored in the kitchen, then walked through another hallway and exited through the door. She once again saw the bright green of the grass, and the blue of the sky. She hadn't had a long time to look around since she was whisked from the medical department to her house. She walked around, then looked towards the sea. She saw a ship in the docks with many people carrying crates and barrels loading it. There was a dragon she recognized walking onto the ship. It was Smaugom, the stinky dragon who never bathed. She looked harder and saw a villager push the dragon. Smaugom, who was three times bigger than a normal dragon, didn't budge. The villager beckoned to the rest of the villagers accompanying Smaugom, and they all pushed in the same direction. Smaugom fell into the empty dock, growling as he fell. The villagers cheered and uncovered their noses. One of them grabbed a nearby bottle of soap, and dumped its contents on the unhappy and growling dragon. They cheered, for Smaugom no longer was stinky, but they all knew he wouldn't take another bath. The angered dragon climbed out of the water, and onto the boat. Abbey could see-

"Hey!"

Someone was yelling at Abbey.

"Abbey!" Jack said, running up to her.

"What do you want now?!" She said to him, enraged at Jacks persistance to bug her.

"You better get on the ship..." And with that said, Jack left to go back and get ready for departure. The temptation of freedom was too much, she headed towards the docks. She saw a few people getting ready for the long journey across the sea, and they all had really big bags of clothing. Abbey walked up to the start of the docks where the sand met the old wooden planks. She hasn't made a full decision yet, and the decision was either disobey her parents and have an adventure, or stay at the village and probably never leave for the rest of her life. She chose the first choice, and stepped out onto the dock. Abbey walked down the long path made of wooden boards, and turned onto another plank that was boarding the ship. She jumped over the railing of the massive boat, and was greeted by Dextrox.

"Abbey, what are you doing on this ship?"

Lying, she said, "I'm coming on the journey."

Amused and suspicious, Dextrox asked, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, my father said that one of the chiefs family was coming along, and he chose me." Abbey didn't like lying, but she didnt want to stay at the village.

"Very well then..." Dextrox remained suspicious, but didn't bother her anymore.

Abbey, breathing a mental sigh of relief, walked closer to the middle of the ship. She had never been on a boat before, and feared she would get sick easily when the sailing started.

"Hello Abbey, glad you made it aboard." Jack climbed over the side of the ship and over to where Abbey was.

"Hi Jack," Abbey said unenthusiastically, "aren't you supposed to be doing something?"

Jack smiled and said, "nope. I have the rest of the time from now until departure all to myself."

"How do you like the "Reinforcements" we're sending?" Abbey emphasized the quotations by making them with her fingers.

"Their very nice," Jack told Abbey, "Dextrox and Haley are both very talented. Smaugom might be trouble though..."

"You be careful with them," Abbey said, trying to intimidate Jack, "Dextrox is my grandfather, and Haley knows how to fight."

"You seriously think I would hurt my towns saviors?" Jack questioned.

"Yeah, about that, what kind of crisis is your town going through?" Abbey could see the ship almost loaded and knew this would be the last question.

"I... Can't tell you," Jack said, "Only a few people know."

With that said, Jack left towards the main cabin, and entered the room. Abbey looked around and tried to spot a hiding place so she could stowaway on the ship. Her plan was going with her father, Jacks plan wasn't.

*-Jacks Point Of View (POV)-*

"Are we going to depart today or tommorow morning Jack?" Hulk asked.

"I haven't quite decided yet, but we are ready?"

" Yes," Hulk said, "you can leave as soon as you want."

"I would like to leave some time today, if you don't mind." Jack answered.

Hulk said suspiciously, "you better not be lying about this... If He is really alive and tormenting your city..."

"I assure you," Jack assured, "He is in our village. There's no way we can get rid of him."

"Then we must leave at once. Is there anything I might have forgotten?" Hulk asked.

"Did you bid your family farewell?" Jack asked, trying to sound older.

"Oh... No, I haven't," Hulk said, "Anna will be so mad with me if I don't."

Jack replied with a laugh, "you should do that before we leave. You don't want a family tear to occur."

Not finding that funny, Hulk left the cabin with a slight scowl on his face. Jack could see Hulk jump over the side of the railing and onto the docks, and immediately Jack came out of the room. He walked a few steps to the side, and climbed up some stairs to where the captain was sitting.

"Captain," Jack said quickly, "we leave immediately. We have all our supplies, and we..." Looking for another reason to leave, Jack swiveled his head around and spotted another reason. "... We need to leave before the storm comes in." There was indeed a storm coming. Big bushy clouds looked like giant gray cotton balls floating in the sky to the east.

With Hulk as chief, the elders had decided to create new kinds of troops. One of them was a Captain. Captains were rough, usually scruffy looking people. There were both male and female Captains, but they both looked sort of similar. They had the typical triangle shaped Captain hat, with a brown jacket that covered their torso. They had a white shirt underneath it, usually stained with beer or rum, and brown pants. Their pants had no pockets, but their coats had many both inside and out. Some Captains went to extreme measures to show they were Captains, one went into battle and got his hand cut off, and replaced it with a hook. Another went out to sea sticking their feet in the water, and a shark bit one off. As you can assume, that Captain now has a peg leg.

The Captain looked up from a scroll, and looked at Jack. "Who made you a Cap'n? As I c'n see, there's no other Cap'ns aboard."

"Right, you are the Captain, but we still need to leave," Jack paused for affect, "now."

"Fine, ya scallywag, we'll leave. But first I need t' grab some'in' out of me britches."

Noticing a problem and wanting to leave faster, Jack said, "you don't have any pockets on your pants."

"Ah, a smart Alec scallywag," The Captain said, "well if you is so smart, you can call me Cale. That's me name."

"Alright Cale, we need to leave." Jack said, making a mental note of the Captains name.

Heading to the wheel, Cale shouted orders to some of the crew, like, "raise the sails," and, "pull in the anchor."

Jack left Cale to his work, and went closer to the front of the ship. Jack had never been on a boat before, despite all that he had told the elders. The wind rushed by him as he leaned over the side, looking out at the village. Cale had started slowly steering the ship out of the docks, and Jack had started feeling the wind rush by his face. Jack moved away from the side, and knocked on the side of a barrel.

"We've left, Abbey." Jack said to the barrel in a hushed tone.

"WHAT!?" Abbey yelled, jumping out of the empty barrel. "I thought I was going with Hulk, not instead of him!"

At this, several faces looked at her, and Jack replied, " he decided to stay behind."

"No! Hulk wouldn't just, not go!" Abbey said back to Jack, "that isn't like my father!"

Again, more faces turned to her. "Aye, be there trouble, laddie?" Cale asked.

"Yes! My father was coming and he's back at the village!"

"I be sorry lad, there's no going back." Cale answered.

Realizing the truth, Abbey knew she would be alone, on a boat, with Jack, the possible murderer, for a month. She looked back at the village, oh so far away, with regret. This was the worst idea she ever had.

"There's no way I'm going back now, so you all will have to live with me instead of Hulk." Abbey said.

Dextrox walked towards her a bit from out of the small crowd that had gathered. "Abbey, don't think I'm not mad at you for lying, because I am, but I'm going to let you have what would have been Hulks room."

"Thank you, grandfather." Abbey replied, now feeling regret for lying as well as coming on the boat in the first place.

"Follow me." Dextrox said, motioning with his hands. He walked a few steps, and opened a door behind Abbey. She followed him into the hallway like he asked, and he lead her to a room. "This was Hulks room. Don't break anything, or you will be more dead than you already are."

Abbey walked into the room in silence, and closed the door as Dextrox turned to leave. Abbey observed the room, seeing a bed, a desk, and a closet. She looked around more and saw a few maps on the desk, and she turned to look at the bed. It was a big bed, with plain white sheets and pillows. She moved around to the opposite side of the bed, and opened the closet. It had one thing in it. She grabbed a lit candle, trying to see through the vast darkness, and was almost blinded at the shinyness of what she found. There was golden armor. Chief Hulks golden armor. The same set he had used to defeat the previous Chief. She quickly closed the door of the closet and fell onto the bed. What kind of danger would Hulk need his old armor for? She didn't know, and wouldn't for a while.

*-Back at the Village-*

Hulk ran down the docks, shouting at the boat that he was supposed to be on.

"HEY! Come back!" Hulk yelled. The crew of the boat didn't hear him.

Anna ran down the dock, seeing the leaving ship, and asked, "why are they leaving without you?"

"I don't know why, but I have suspicions..." Hulk was getting mad, he thought he knew why they left.

Anna was still confused and asked, "what are your suspicions?"

Hulk was mad, and he didn't take lightly to what he knew. "That boy... Jack... What day did he say his birthday was on?"

"January twenty-fifth. Why, why does it matter?" Anna answered.

"Not here," Hulk replied, "follow me."

Wanting to know the answer, Anna followed Hulk. Hulk was scared for many more things than he actually knew. He passed an elder and said, "Elder, I want you to see that another boat gets loaded for the same journey that the previous one took."

"But Chief," the Elder said, "that could take a week!"

"I don't care," Hulk said, anger backing his voice, "get it done."

Hulk turned from the now scared Elder, and started moving walked on the soft grass back to his house, Anna close behind. He opened the door, and walked to the dining room, not bothering with any other things. He sat in one of the chairs, and motioned for Anna to do the same.

Sitting down, Anna asked, "now, what is happening?"

Taking a deep breath, hulk explained, "Jacks birthday is on the twenty-fifth. So is Abbeys."

"And?" Anna asked. "I don't think that Abbey has a problem with that, I would actually say she likes him."

"I'm not worrying about if she likes him, there's something wrong with him," Hulk said, "there's a scroll in this house, one that was apart of the old library from before the chief died. I didnt know if it was the one that was true... There were many scrolls on what would happen over the next thirty years. Now i know its the right one... It said..."

"What? It said what?" Anna nagged.

"It foretold of a child, the same age as the second chiefs firstborn... That would lead the second chiefs firstborn to an old enemy..."

Taking this in, Anna asked, "and Jack is that child? Abbey would clearly be the second chiefs firstborn... But we don't have to worry about that. Abbey is in the village."

"No she's not," Hulk said with a pained look, "She was on the boat. I saw her pink hair, and I had meant to deal with her. Jack told me to say goodbye to my family, that's when he told the Captain to take off without me."

Anna gasped, then instantly started worrying. She knew the answer, but asked anyway, "...Who is this old enemy?"

Knowing this was a rhetorical question, he said the only answer.

"...The very Chief I killed over fifteen years ago..."

Hi guys! Im back!

Ok, i have some explaining to do... I was never really gone. My tablet does this thing every once and a while when it overheats. It turns off for a week. I thought my tablet had died, but it came back a week after i had declared myself gone. I didnt want to seem like the Boy who cried Wolf, so i left for a while, and now im ready to come back. Updates will still be sperratic, but at least i will be updating.

A reply to Fallpurs review: First reason, I have Dextrox because i didnt want to bring in another wizard. He's Abbeys grandfather, so he is related to the main character. Third, i dont remember many names from TBKs previous poll. Last reason, (I'm pretty sure TBK will agree with this) Dextrox is pretty awesome. He has his own story, (Life in the Lab) and he's pretty cool in it.

If anybody wants to suggest new character names, i have a system. I dont think people just think that Anna and Abbey have A names just for coincedence. Their Archers. Just like Cale, a Captain, and Haley a Healer. There are some troops that are exceptions though, like Wizards, Barbarians, and a few others.

Just a notice, there are different kinds of troops/citizens in this. Elders are one of them, they are pretty much just higher ranked Villagers.

Jack is an exception to the troops/citizens rule. He is not a Barbarian, nor any other male troop.

I've been talking to much, enjoy the third chapter!
