Hazel whistled out a tune while she used a towel to finish the last of the chore.

Piper walked it from upstairs, looking around with wide eyes.

Hazel noticed her girlfriend and smiled widely. "Happy Birthday!"

She offered a mug of matcha tea to the messy haired witch, who speechlessly grabbed the cup.

"I thought I'd surprise you by cleaning up and making you tea and breakfast, with no magic. Haven't exactly gotten to the breakfast part yet, because you woke up, but-"

Hazel was cut off by lightly chapped lips pressing against her soft ones. She stood for a moment, before leaning up to kiss her girlfriend back.

A minute passed and they both stood in the middle of a lemon scented kitchen, Hazel's hands on Piper's cheeks and the warmth of matcha steam under their chins. When they separated, Hazel's eyes met Piper's warm cinnamony brown one.

"Thank you, you're the best girlfriend a witch can ask for."

"Just wait until you taste the pancakes - matcha blueberry and Nutella, your favourite."

She heard a soft laugh in Piper's chest, and her world warmed up.
