"What's wrong?" Optimus asked Hot Shot. He walked into the makeshift medical bay. Rebuilt from the remains of the ships original med center.

Hot Shot sat at the edge of a table where Rodimus lay in stasis. The maroon colored mech looked peaceful with his once blue optics faded to black and colors domed as his body slowly repaired itself.

Albeit even that wouldn't be enough to bring Optimus's protégée back online.

Yet Hot Shot sat in silence with him. He wanted to talk to the warrior about what had happened in less than a week he'd been online. Spotted by the planets natives.

Hoist was tracking the two humans down. Hotlink saw the boy try to help Hot Shot. Now he and the girl were potential Decepticon targets.

Damn Hot Shot. If only you weren't so reckless.

"Nothing," The blue Autobot cat answered. Optimus knee that was a lie. He shook his head and sat down next to Hot Shot.

He gazed up at Rodimus as Hot Shot was doing. But Prime reached and took hold of Rodimus's hand.

He lowered his head. The two Autobots worthy to replace him were gone. Bumblebee, lost to the stars.

And Rodimus, Hot Rod. Alive, but with not enough energy to open his eyes, let alone move.

"I failed them, all of them," Optimus said. Hot Shot gasped. And looked at his commander with solemn eyes.

"Prime," he muttered.

"I led them here, Rodimus, Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Sideswipe, I led them to this unjust fate, at least I know where these bots are," Optimus said, his voice low and weighty, "but nonetheless I must fight on. Megatron is here, and Rodimus would want me to fight him."

Hot Shot lowered his head.

"I know you feel you messed up, letting the humans see you," Prime continued, "Bluestreake I formed me that he and Hoist found where they hang around. A middle school in town a little while aways."

Hot Shot eased.

"They'll be safe Hot Shot, we all will." Optimus then stood up, placed Rodimus's hand across his chest and soluted the young, comatose warrior.

"Yeah, you're right, I've not much to worry bout," Hot Shot chuckled. Putting on his best poker face. The Prime saw through it, and patted the smaller mech's shoulder.

Then left the infirmary. Hot Shot sighed. He stood up next to Rodimus. And he smiled.

"Guess he does have a way with words Hot Rod," Hot Shot chuckled.

About a mile or so a way, and several miles up. Danny and Alexis peered down into the crater. Daniel holding a flashlight in one hand, and her hand in the other. The light faded in the darkness, not reaching the bottom. The rocks seemed to have formed around a weird shape in the bottom.

Leaving little room for the sun's light to shine below. Daniel let go of her hand and crawled closer to the edge. Leaning his head in. He breathed in and lowered his left arm. Hanging the flashlight.

Whatever was down there was huge, metal and orange. Split in two and a small light flickered down within. It was not his own. But he assumed it was, so he went back to Alexis and put the light in his backpack. Without turning it off.

The two walked over to their bicycles and saddled up to them and rode back towards town.

Idaho, forests outside Pocatello

October 1, 1984

Midnight…

Jet engines rumbled. Shaking the trees branches, sending leaves falling to the ground. Followed was the vapor trail of four F-15 fighter planes.

One in front, two to the sides flanking the back, and the last lagging behind. The four jets flew down into the forest land. Waking many animals, sending them running. As the first jet split apart and reshaped itself into a mechanoid form.

The white and red robot landed knelt and looked up. His bright crimson eyes illuminating the darkness around him. His chest was red and his arms and feet clad in a grey-blue, everything else was white, other than his helm, painted black.

He rose to his feet as the three other jets transformed behind him. They looked identical to him, other than color.

The four mechs walked into a cave and a stone door shut behind them.

"Commander Starscream, I didn't realize Megatron sent you down to the surface," A smaller blue mech addressed the leader.

"Barricade, where is Onslaught?" The commander asked. Barricade, with much sarcasm, pointed over to a table where a mech as tall as Starscream stood, fidgeting with a rifle. He was broad shouldered. Grey, with large canons attached to his back.

"Sir! Scream's here!" A small tan Decepticon pointed at Starscream from the other side of the table. Onslaught turned around and grunted. Out of obligation he raised his right hand to his forehead, a gesture reciprocated by the other troops. Then Starscream himself.

"What brings you down to the planet sir?" Onslaught asked. His yellow eyes were covered by a red visor and he wore a faceplate, which he refused to remove.

Starscream strutted over to him, beckoning one of his seekers, the maroon and gold one to follow him.

"Word's gotten to Megatron that Optimus has been seen online on this planet," Starscream said, he nudged his seeker. Who looked at his leader with disbelief then turned to Onslaught.

"He wants you to start work one phase two he-" The skker said, then being pushed by the small tan mech.

"Did he ask you Thrust?" The tan mech spat. Starscream gave him a glare.

"No Swindle, but I gave him permission to report," Starscream said, "As Thrust was saying, Megatron will be coming to the surface soon."

Onslaught nodded.

"I'll get to work," Onslaught said, Starscream put a hand up.

"I'll be assuming command here, you tell Scrapper to start building," Starscream said, putting his hands behind him, holding them over his rear end. Turning and walking towards the door, "Thrust, Bitstream, Skywarp, and Barricade with me we are headed to Arizona."

The seekers excited first. Barricade shot a look to Onslaught and shrugged. He ran out the door, transforming to car mode and driving off.

Onslaught uncrossed his arms and punched the table, denting it in one blow.
