Hey, y'all! Ardhoniel is back, baby! :P This was a sort of bad chapter, I kind of wrote it in a rush, but my school was cancelled for at least the next three days, so I'll be trying to do more writing this week. That is, if I'm not busy with work and learning how to drive and just doing stuff at home :). Hope I can send you more chapters soon.
Ray POV:
The first time I laid eyes on the dojo, I was surprised. It was not big and fancy like my sister had imagined it, more like it was a smaller house, but I could tell there was something special about it. We were the first to arrive at Sensei Lloyd's dojo. Both Rose and I were eager to get started on our training. We weren't unfamiliar with Lloyd and his family. We often considered them close as family, during the times we did see them.
I stepped onto the front porch of the dojo and rapped my hand on its large, red wooden door several times. It creaked open in response. There was a large courtyard in front of us, very similar to a monastery (so a lot like the ninja's original training area). It was complete with a training course, weapons cases, and a basketball court, with a video game console inside, so it was not incomplete without any form of entertainment. "You two are a few minutes early," Lloyd noticed. I smiled, while Rose talked. "Yeah, it was a long walk from our house, so we had to leave early," she replied.
"Well, we won't start classes for a while, so you can chill with Abigail and Carson until everyone gets here," Lloyd said, leaving us alone in the courtyard. Rose took a basketball without hesitation and began shooting hoops like a pro. My sister. She's such a showoff when it comes to athleticism. I sat down on a corner, watching for a while, but eventually got bored. That is until, the others came by. I saw Abigail before Carson. "Abby!" I said. "It's... been a while." I was surprised at how long it had been, so long I was surprised by the way her platinum-blonde, almost white locks fell down in front of her face, her full red lips, how tall she was.
Abigail simply smiled at me. "It has been, Ray," she said, then proceeded to sit down on the opposite side of the courtyard. Carson came in, and we caught up with each other. Carson and I have been good friends for a while. He sat down next to me. "How has Abigail been doing?" I asked.
"You haven't seen her in a while," Carson said, shrugging. "It's been a long time since she changed. She's just been... more quiet than usual."
I didn't press. He would tell me if he wanted to.
A half hour passed, and the rest of the students arrived. There was one girl, who hugged her father before she left. She had her long black hair pulled back in a ponytail and wore dark clothing. Then three kids arrived at the same time, two girls and a boy. The older girl had auburn hair in a bun and wore a blue skirt, and the other two looked about the same age. The girl had short black hair, and the boy had short-cropped, dark hair and wore grey. My sister immediately went over and began to make friends with the girls. I met the younger boy, his name Thaddeus.
A few minutes later, someone else came, but he didn't look right. He had silver hair and skin and wore light blue. I guessed immediately he was a robot. I had met a robot named Zane a couple of times when he would come visit my parents, but I never really knew him that well. "I am Titus (I changed it, I liked this better)," the young robot said. "It is nice to make your acquaintance."
"Same here," I answered, taking his outstretched hand, a bit surprised that Titus knew the average human customs such as a simple handshake. He was definitely raised well. "I hope I am not too late," Titus said. "My systems have informed me it is precisely 10:00 AM, but I have been a bit delayed recently."
"You're all right," I said. "We haven't started yet." The android smiled, nodding. I couldn't help myself, but I was quite curious at how Titus worked. I needed to speak to him later.
The gong sounded. Class had started.
Yes, I changed Titan's name to Titus, I like it better. Sorry for the mixup. I hope you liked this. Exposition is the most boring thing for me to read, please just hang in there. I have great plans for this story. Thanks for reading!
