The third chapter. Not sounding very exciting, am I? Oh, well. In this chapter, the godly action will start being more noticeable. I hope that one day this fic can be well liked by more readers. So, on with the story!

Disclaimer: I'm obviously not Rick Riordan, am I? Too bad.

Dear Diary,

I'm sorry I haven't written in you for three weeks. Besides, you're not my daily diary, are you? I just write in you when I want to tell people something, but can't. So, I was really, very busy this last month. I mean, there's school, school, school, and school!

Anyway, I met a new friend. Well, three new friends to be exact. You see, the class teacher said something like, 'You're too noisy, weird, and irresponsible to sit alone, and your classmates are not to be contaminated by you, so I'm going to let you move from the center of the class to the very corner, so that you can be yourself more.' Then he promptly picked up my school bag and threw it to the corner seat. My pencil case, both of them, and my school books too. What a horrible man.

…Okay, I may have exaggerated it a little, and the class teacher may not have did exactly that, but I just know he was thinking about it. In actuality, he simply suggested that maybe I should move back, and let some more promising students move to the front, and then promptly told me that he would like to see me at my newly assigned desk by tomorrow. The most aggravating thing was that all the while he was smiling politely.

That was two and a half weeks ago... It wasn't so bad, actually. It was better then I'd ever imagine.

There were three girls sitting around the corner seat, and they're all quite friendly. Well, maybe not Grace, but she can't be friendly anyway, so she doesn't count. The girl to my right is Shrynae, but I call her Rinae. It's such a nice name. Better than mine, at any rate. Rinae is the kindest and sweetest girl in the entire school, and probably the kindest girl in the entire world.

Then there's this Chinese girl in front of me, Qi-Jia. She's the quiet, studious type, but I personally think that she's really cool. Last, but definitely not the least to not offend her, is Grace. Grace's the Assistant Head Prefect of our school, and very, very responsible, from what I gathered. To me, she's just too uptight and strict. Everybody needs to relax from time to time, and I think she missed her relaxing time once too many.

To tell the truth, I really enjoy where I am now, opposed to where I was seated before. It's an improvement from being surrounded by bookworms that can't read a storybook but can finish the entire Biology textbook in two days. I mean, that book's two inches thick! No offence to any studious people out there.

Speaking of friends, I miss Jean. She's a member of the music band, you see, and the band is preparing for a performance just after summer, which is whole six months away. It's a long, long time, but the band master has every participant practicing like crazy. So now Jean spends more time in the Band Practice Room than she does at home and in classes put together. I'm a non-member, so I can't go into the practice room, which meant I can't see Jean. I really miss her.

On an entirely different note, Rinae's weird. Not in a bad way, no. More like she's different. At times when we're walking in the hallway, she'll suddenly freeze and pull me aside, like she'd seen something scary. She'll tell me to stay there, while she goes back to the classroom to get something she forgotten to take. I guess she's really forgetful, 'cause I've seen her do that at least six times since I've met her.

Then, just the day before yesterday, a new exchange student came to our class. He's name's Handrew Cliff. Surprisingly, there was no big commotion in the class like I'd expected. You'd think that there'll be rumors that an exchange student is coming to our class, but there was none, and BAM, the next day, there's this new guy sitting beside Rinae, talking to her. Plus, the other students, even the nosy ones, didn't act like I thought they would. Like Handrew wasn't something new, like he's already old news.

To my surprise, Rinae and Handrew already knew each other. When asked, Rinae waved it off and said, 'Oh, we met each other at a summer camp, right, Handrew?' Handrew, always a few seconds slow on things, paused, and then nodded. 'Uh, yes.'

I don't know what Handrew was doing in a summer camp. No offense to the guy, but isn't he crippled? He needs crutches, and from my experience, summer camps require lots of running about, jumping up and down, jungle trekking, and climbing things. Shudder. That was my first and last time I let Dad sign me up to a summer camp.

Dad was talking about signing me up for another, though. He said that summer camps build good characters and a healthy soul. Since that I'm now an eighth grader, he said I could join in on high school camps, which are a lot more interesting and exciting. I don't know about interesting, but exciting? Over my dead body.

*Yawn* I'd better go sleep now. It's Sports Day tomorrow, and the school governors made it compulsory for every student to attend. Whatever. Oh, one more thing. Remember how Rinae kept forgetting things? This morning, she went back to pick up her favorite pen, and Handrew offered to go with her. Why'd you need two people to pick up a pen is beyond me. Though, I swear I saw Handrew running with Rinae back to the classroom, his crutches held above the floor… Oh well.
