Chapter 3 Is that You?

~~~###~~~
Lasercorn's POV
I silently surveyed the hallways, walking down them without a word to either of the lost spirits I had taken with me. There seem to be less and less lit torches as I continue on. Luckily, the two spirits had enough glow to them so I could at least know where they were, but not see anything else. Lisa, the yellow orb, sat quietly on my shoulder. While her brother, Sam, the blue orb had climbed up and now rested on top of my head. Or would have been resting if he didn't have so much energy. He must be made out of electric energy because he was making my short hair stand on edge.
After running and bouncing around my head endlessly, he finally stopped, whispering "What's that?" from his perch. I stop walking for a second, looking for what he'd seen. I saw something briefly pass into the light from the shadows. The two spirits huddle behind my back.
"Hello? Who's there?" I ask the figure in the darkness.
It responds "David?" then stepped into the light. I instantly recognize who it is. A big smile spread across my face.
"Ian!" He got away from the monster! I don't care how I'm just so happy he's OK! I race over to him, quickly pulling him into a hug. I burrow my face into his neck and say "Thank God you're okay! I was so worried." Strangely, he stiffens up at first, then returns the hug. Huh, that's weird. The two spirits have gone quiet now, shocked as I am about Ian.
I then suggest "Let's see if we can find any of the other guys". He pauses for a moment, then nods his head. We begin to walk back the way we came. His feet stepping slowly and awkwardly, clunking down after each step.
One of the orbs finally speak up " M-m-mommy?" Lisa stammers. Huh? Mommy?
"What do you mean? That's Ian..." I whisper to Lisa, who is still hiding behind my back with her brother. Ian stops walking. I hear a growl from behind us. I turn around, about to ask if he heard it too, but instead I see something horrifying. Sam and Lisa both scream. Ian's face is melting off, dripping onto the floor. His eyes are now goopy and disformed, like playdough. His mouth has decayed, showing his teeth curved in a permanent smile. What is left of his left eye is twitching creepishly. "IAN! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?!"
Ian throws his head back and cackles maniacally and says in a low and creepy two-toned voice. "Ian isn't here, he was never here you fool," It turned to the spirits "nor was your mother." Tentacles spring out of his back, one catching my right foot before I could run.
Lisa and Sam try to dodge into the shadows. "I can see you." The fake Ian says in a sadistic singsong voice as two more tentacles snatch them up. "Mistress Foxfur won't be happy that the two of you left your cell" It says tossing them into a small sack. I grab at the floor looking for a handhold, but sadly I find no such thing. More tentacles come. Two grab my waist and chest. One finds my neck, putting me in a choke-hold. All the rest restrain my limbs. I struggle against the tentacles, but my struggling only causes the impersonator to hold on tighter. What does this freak want with me and what did it do to Ian?! I scream, but I know it is in vain as the hall grows darker and darker.
Jovenshire's POV
My paws pad their way down the hallway. I look around noticing I'm outside of where this whole thing started. I sniff the ground, prodding through the smells. Let's see Anthony went down the hallway I just came out of. David went down the hallway to the left. Lastly, I find traces of Mari and Matt's smell coming from the hallway right in front of myself. Perfect. I can go for Matt and get two for one. Matt needs to see what he has done to me. I snarl then speed off towards him. He's the one who hates me the most. He will get the worst of it.
Anthony's POV
I rub my gut where the monsters had hit me and look around with my eyes half opened. They took Joshua, but left me here. Why did they do that? What did they need him for? But there is no way to know where they took him. They hit me till I passed out before I could see the direction they headed. Maybe I should continue in the direction I was originally going and see where I end up. I HAVE to get out of here, who knows who those things have gotten so far. I swiften my pace. It could be me next... what if they are coming for me right now! At the thought I start running.
After a minute or two of running I bump into something. I couldn't tell what it was on impact, but it is hanging from the ceiling. It seems moist and sticky, with some shredded cloth. As if by magic, a torch lights ablaze from a near wall. At what I saw, I felt like my heart was going to stop right there. It was the bodies of the Smoshgames crew, hanging there, dead. Hung by their feet like pork in a butcher shop. The monsters had done horrible things to them, some were missing an arm or a leg. I felt vomit rising up looking at their faces. Something had gouged some of their eyes out. Their faces were frozen in a distant look of horror and pain. I look to each one of my friends, a mixture of anger and sadness growing inside with each look. The guys from the clevvergames, we've only known each other for a little more than a year, but we had grown so close over the seemingly short time.
David, he was annoying at times, but always had a joke to brighten our moods on those dark days. Matt, he complained alot, but he was really smart, he always had some good advice when we had a problem. Joshua, though we poked fun at him, he was a still a really great guy. Then Mari, she had always been a great friend of ours, she never gave up, always pushing us forward. Then Ian. I feel some tears coming to my eyes after I had seen my poor friend's corpses. Ian, he had been my best friend since middle school. He was the only one who didn't think I was weird, he didn't care about the problems I had at home. I still remember the day we met, when we were paired up for that science experiment. Back then I was such a shy kid. I don't know where I'd be without him. But now he's gone. They had distorted him even more than the others. The monsters had carved his mouth out past his cheeks. Both his eyes were missing, with some dried tears still covering his face. In his chest the monsters had carved a few words "You did this to me! - Ian" I can no longer hold back my vomit, feeling my insides pouring out.
I fall to the ground. Tears were flowing out of my eyes in a fit of sobs and whimpers. I pound the floor with my fist. My best friend, all my friends, are gone. Mutilated and broken. It feels like my whole world has shattered around me. There isn't much more for me now they are gone. My career is gone. My goals are now meaningless. My life is broken. And most importantly, my family is gone. Forever. They were my family and now they're gone. It was all my fault. I had chosen the game. I had wanted to play it. Now they're gone. All I can do now is lay here, waiting for whatever those creatures want to do to me. I don't care anymore. I just don't care.
Sohinki's POV
I hold Mari's warm hand in mine. Surprisingly it's been quiet for a while. Too quiet. Though I am of course glad we haven't seen anything yet, it only strengthened my worry that something worse will come for Mari. Even though I'm scared as well, I tried my best not to show it. There is a squelching sound in the distance. The first few times it was quiet, but as we continue walking it grows louder. "What's that?" I ask Mari.
"I don't know, I can't see anything." She looks around the hall we are walking in. The fire from the torches seem to grow dimmer with each passing minute. Yet nothing is seen but an empty hallway. We continued on, still not knowing what the squelching sound was. Then there is one loud squish. "Uck, what did I just step in?" She tries to continue walking, but whatever she had stepped in holds tight. "Matt... I can't move!" The fire from her lighter is slowly lowering. I see fear strike her face which was lowering as well "MATT! I'M SINKING!" I grab for her arms and begin pulling. My attempt looked like it was slowing her descent only slightly. Sweat forms on my brow as I struggle against the downward pull. I try to reassure Mari "Don't worry, I've got you." Her face brightens only the slightest bit. I give another huff and pull even harder. Now she doesn't seem to be sinking much deeper, but she wasn't rising out of the gunk either. I feel the beginning of teardrops in the corner of my eyes. My strength was faltering and would not last long against the pull of the quicksand ooze. I fear I might not be able to save her before my energy wears out.
Lasercorn's POV
The Ian imposter dragged me to a bone structure shaped like a cage. It looked at me, then threw me into it, along with the sack holding Sam and Lisa, slamming the cage door immediately. It licked it's lips before growling in a different language made of guttural metal sounds to something that I couldn't see.
"I'll come back for you two later." It says to the sack Sam and Lisa were in before cackling and walking away. It's body had been disfigured so much from the Ian I knew, that it now looked more like a snail, leaving a trail of green sludge in it's wake. As soon as it slithered away, Sam and Lisa started to stir within the sack. I loosen the string holding it closed and they both tumble out. I looked around and saw more bone cages surrounding my own. Most of them were either filled with a cowering beast that I'd never seen before or more bones. The cage we are in is a bit small for me, pressing my knees up against my chest, the two spirits sitting on my knees. I remember I put a Swiss army knife in my pocket earlier. Thank God I did. Suprisingly it was still there. I began whittling one of the bones on the cage with it. This is going to take a while. I look back outside my cage. There seems to be a gathering of monsters of all shapes and sizes. Some were huge with ugly pig noses, some were tiny with little bat wings and fangs. They all were chattering amongst themselves in a variation of tones and volumes. One spoke out above the rest calling attention to himself. It speaks "Sit down and shut up! I brought you all here to recite the annual obituaries. Like every year we'll start with A and we'll end with Z. Is the band ready?"
A deep croaky voice replies "Ready."
"Alright, hit it Boiles."
"And a one, and a two."
Some upbeat music begins to play from somewhere I couldn't see. They had said they were reciting obituaries but... with a song? A voice starts to sing to the music.
Some maniacal laughter is heard from everywhere and also nowhere. The music has stopped. Seriously, singing about death? The bone I was whittling broke, but not enough for me to escape yet. I hear a blood curdling scream come from a concealed room nearby. That's sounds like Ian! The REAL Ian! I saw my knife faster than before. I have to get to him! Who knows what is happening in there?
A/n The song in this chapter was - Such a Gorey Demise - by Creature Feature. This song is NOT mine so please don't sue me XD.
