Did You See The Flares In The Sky?
One Week Later
Phoebe walked into the living room, pausing when she saw Remus sitting on the floor playing cars with her nephew who seemed absolutely thrilled to have a new play mate. Leaning against the doorway, Phoebe watched as the smiling man listened intently to the toddlers babble, playfully tickling him when Wyatt called him a giant. Smiling at the sound of her nephews giggles, she walked into the room, watching Remus spin the giggling boy around with a huge grin on his face before freezing when he saw her. Smiling sheepishly, Remus sat the tiny blonde gently on the ground, ruffling his hair fondly as the twice blessed child clung to his leg.
"Wow, you must be a hit with the ladies." Phoebe teased, smile widening when he blushed and ducked his head, scratching the back of his neck shyly.
"Uh, yeah, no, not really." Remus admitted, giving her a crooked smile as he ran a hand through his shaggy hair, shuffling his feet awkwardly.
"I have a hard time believing that." Phoebe said, giving him a disbelieving look as she went to sit next to her nephew who had grown bored of the adult conversation and was back to playing with his toys. "Now, not that I'm not happy to see you, what are you doing over here?"
"Oh, Piper and Leo had plans and you and Paige were out so I offered to watch Wyatt and Chris." He explained, joining her on the ground, their knees touching as they watched the little boy play happily.
Paige walked through the store, wrinkling her nose in distaste at the eighties clothing, she hadn't really thought the whole clothing situation through before jumping aboard Phoebe's 'Let's do the time warp again!' plan. Holding a poufy skirt to herself, she felt like gagging, why did she have to get new clothes? What was wrong with her clothes? She liked her clothes, damn it! So what if people stared at the 'weird fashion'? You know what was weird? These ugly ass skirts, that's what! And what was up with those damn leg warmers?
"I think you'd prefer these ones, luv." A very annoying voice spoke from behind her, making her turn around with a glare already set in place to see Sirius standing there holding a couple… actually not that bad skirts. Which he obviously knew if the annoyingly smug smirk on his face was anything to go by.
"And how exactly do you know what I'd prefer?" Paige asked, a bitchy expression on her face as she leaned on her right leg, crossing her arms over her chest. Before he could answer the windows shattered, making them duck to avoid the flying shards. I heard those could be slightly dangerous. Cautiously peeking over the rack, Paige felt her breath leave her when she caught a glimpse of the demon standing outside the store. Shax. Another thing they hadn't considered when they came back to a time where all their enemies were NO LONGER DEAD! Seeing him get ready to throw an innocent into a wall, Paige quickly sprung into action.
"Evil winds that blow,
That which forms below.
No longer may you dwell,
Death takes you with this spell!" Paige chanted furiously, taking extreme pleasure in watching him blow up, even if it was only temporary. After making sure everybody got out of the store, Paige turned to Sirius who was gaping at her and winced, this wasn't exactly the best way to find out that not only are demons real but that the girl you enjoy bickering with is one of the most powerful witches ever.
"What. The. Bloody hell! Was that?!" Sirius asked, eyes wide as he stared at the place where Shax had been
"No time." Paige said hurriedly, quickly grabbing him and orbing out, cringing at the thought of telling her sisters this. They were not going to be happy that Shax was alive again.
Phoebe placed the toys in the chest, wiping her hands against her jeans, before exiting the living room. Heading upstairs, she followed the sound of someone singing to her nephews' bedroom, peeking her head in curiously, she felt her heart skip at the sight of Remus holding a sleepy Chris as he swayed gently while singing Hey Jude to the baby. Leaning against the doorway, Phoebe laid a hand on her chest as she smiled softly, letting her eyes flutter shut as she listened to Remus' soft crooning. When the beautiful sound abruptly stopped, she opened her eyes to find him standing stock still in the middle of the room, staring at her with wide eyes as he blushed a fire truck red.
Collecting his wits slightly, he smirked and teased, "You know, this is the second time I've caught you staring, I'm gonna have to start charging you soon." Before he gently laid the sleeping baby in his crib, pulling the covers up, he tucked him in, fondly smoothing his dark hair down before turning and walking to the doorway, pausing next to Phoebe, he looked down at her, his green-hazel eyes gaining a mischievous glint as he bent down to whisper in her ear, "Not that I mind being stared at by a beautiful girl of course, it's quite the ego booster, you know." Before continuing out the doorway, leaving Phoebe gaping, a bright blush covering her face. Shaking herself out of her Remus induced trance, Phoebe shakily walked over to her nephews bed, bending down to kiss his forehead as she brought a hand up to brush his hair, tensing and squeezing her eyes shut as she was pulled into a vision.
…Start…
An older Remus was chasing after a partially dressed three year old, laughing as the cute baby girl toddled away from him dressed only in underwear and one tiny little shoe. Speeding up a little, Remus swept the giggling girl into his arms, spinning her around before placing her on his hip, letting out a grunt when a tiny dark haired missile slammed into him. Wrapping an arm around her waist, he hefted her onto his other hip, grinning down at the little girl who was smiling innocently up at him.
"Hello, daddy." The adorable little girl greeted, a slight British accent coating her words as she cupped her father's face with her tiny hands.
"Hello, my little ladybug. What did you do?" Remus asked knowingly, quirking his lips up into a smirk as he peered down at his daughter who was gaping at him offended.
"Me? Why do you assume I did something?" The six year old questioned affronted, placing her little hands on her hips as she glared cutely up at her amused father.
"Because you did, you little troublemaker." An older Phoebe said, walking up to the trio and taking the squirming toddler from a relieved Remus who leaned down to kiss the much smaller woman, causing both children to make disgusted noises, sticking their tongues out at their parents when they laughed at them.
…End…
Snapping out of it, Phoebe stumbled back, falling into the chair next to her nephews' bed as she stared wide eyed and unseeingly at a wall, trying to process what she had just seen. Remus Lupin, the guy she had only met a week ago was the future father of her children? Sure, she was attracted to the guy, who wouldn't be, he was absolutely gorgeous, but she had only met him a week ago! Even she, in her baby crazed mood, hadn't started thinking that far ahead! But… if the way he was in the vision and with Wyatt and Chris was any indication, he was great with children, he would be a great father, and, as she mentioned before, he was gorgeous… and funny… and smart… and just kind of perfect. She could do a lot worse. Hell, she had done a lot worse. So, yeah, what could it hurt to give it a shot? This is what she wanted, right? A husband and children of her own to come home to. This is what she wants. Apparently, the reason she couldn't find it in her own time was because her soulmate was back in 1978.
"Oh my God." Phoebe breathed, leaning back against the chair
