Jasper Luxe – 18 – District 1

I wake up at 7:00 in the morning. Ugghh! It's too early! I try falling back asleep, but I can't. I them get dressed into my reaping clothes; black pants, and a nice, white, collared shirt. I see my sister, Alexandra in the kitchen eating some cereal. She is looking very glum. I think I know why. Today is reaping day. She is twelve so it is her first year. I know she won't get picked but I still feel sad. I am going to volunteer. I don't know why but I feel like proving myself. Like there are strong warriors that can fight back. My parents and our entire family despise the Capitol. I am no different.

I walk out of the house and meet up with two of my best friends, Alexia and Lucy Honor. They are both enrolled in the Academy like I am. Thank goodness neither of them is the chosen female volunteer. I talk to them for a while and then we go to the bakery. We loaves of bread and eat them outside of the Academy. Lucy asks me "So Jasper, how is your sister doing?" She doing good I say back to her. We then realize that time has gone so quickly, and it is five minutes 'till the reaping. I sprint there and get there just in time to listen to the escort, Gray Sanderson finish up a speech. "Now it is time to select the male and female tributes of District 1." Gray says into the microphone. He grabs a piece of paper from the bowl and reads it out loud. "Gari Hen" he says. I volunteer as tribute I say. I instantly regret it as I see the look on Alexandra and my parent's faces. I walk up to the stage right by Gray. "What is your name?" he asks. "Jasper Luxe" I answer. What have I done?

Victoria Price – 18 – District 1

That boy just beat out Thunder, the boy the Academy chose. I wonder how he is feeling right now. We are rich. We have never known starvation like they probably have in District's 6, 8, and 12. I was chosen by the Academy to volunteer so I must. Gray walks up to the mic again and says, "Now for the girls." He picks up a slip of paper and is about to read it when I immediately say I volunteer as tribute. I quickly walk up to the stage and stand to the left of Jasper. The audience claps except for my brother Jasper. He doesn't really understand the Games and he doesn't really know what is happening, but he can tell it is not good. We leave the stage and head into the Justice Building.

Hi guys. Sorry for not updating for a while. I couldn't because I was at camp for the past two weeks and I have been really jet-lagged. Sorry if this chapter is bad. I am not 100% pleased with it but I think it is okay. So, what did you think of our District 1 tributes, Victoria and Jasper? In case you didn't notice I switched the District 2 reaping to chapter 2 instead of chapter 1 like it was earlier. Thank you for reading, and have a great day!
