Okay, so this is where the two franchises actually start to cross-over, as the Sonic characters arrive at San-Fransokyo. But which ones? Read and find out!

Enjoy!

Universe travelling can be a bit wonky, especially for Dr. Eggman. It's not that the scientist was un-experienced with the feature; it's more that he never really had an experience of building a portal by himself. This was only his second attempt at building one. And while the results were better than the first time, no doubt thanks to the Chaos Emeralds' power, there were still a few minor things to sort out.

When Eggman recovered from his arrival on this other universe, the future of it he had hoped, he started looking at his surroundings. He seemed to end up in a Courantyne zone on some kind of island, a perfect place to set up his temporary base of operations. Eggman's positive train of thought was cut short when he heard voices.

"What happened?" Orbot asked with a hand placed over his head. Cubot was acting the same way. "Did the portal Eggman built failed and Sonic stopped us already?" The red robot asked his yellow companion, who shrugged.

"No." Eggman's strict voice caught the robots by surprise. "Infect, I think the portal had worked out better than I imagined." He said with a smile. "This island will be a perfect place for my new base!" He exclaimed before heading towards what seemed to be an actual base, or a lab, already set up on the island.

The grin on the evil genius's face got bigger at the sight of the building as he made his way towards it, Orbot and Cubot following him. When they have reached the small building, the evil trio noticed what looked like a make-shift entrance to the lab, being cut by a laser it seemed.

Eggman inspected the laser cuts, letting out an impressed sigh at the strength of it. "Magnificent! If I could create a laser with these qualities, that horrid hedgehog won't stand a chance!" He stated before going in using the opening in the wall.

Eggman walked through the long hallway, thinking of what he could achieve with only the impressive laser he had seen the results of. As he reached a split near the end of the hall, Eggman noticed an open door leading into a room. The doctor's jaw dropped as he saw what he assumed was a portal in its construction stages… or maybe it was ruined?

Eggman did notice from where he stood that the place seemed a bit destroyed and deserted. But not too destroyed and enough deserted in order to make a fine base for him while he studies the robotics of this universe's future. While looking around some more, the doctor's feet led him to, what he assumed, was a control room.

A video screen soon came to view as Eggman entered the room. He advanced towards it, seeing nine screens being displayed, representing different cameras filming the events. However, only one screen showed footage and the rest were black. Curiosity consumed Eggman as he played the video showing on screen.

"We were asked to do the impossible." A man in the video said, leading a few people to see two giant portals. "That's what we did. We re-invented the very concept of transportation." He elaborated.

The two portals soon activated and the man demonstrated them by throwing a hat into one of them, only for it to come out through the other portal. "Not science-fiction anymore." The man said as he described transportation through space.

"If only he knew…" Eggman muttered as he continued to watch the video. Later on, the man presenting the project attempted to teleport a woman in a pod through the portal. Eggman watched as the experiment failed and the other portal exploded once the woman was sent through it. "So that's what this thing is out there…" Eggman realized as he glanced over the destroyed portal just outside the control room.

After some checking, Eggman found out when the video was being filmed. The events seemed to have taken place in the same time as the present in his universe. A conclusion suddenly popped into his mind; the reason for the experiment, while flawed, being operational was a result of the aftermath of Sonic's battle in that "In-between universes" zone.

Eggman started pondering hard after that, as a scheme formed in his mind. "If I could re-build the portal, I could get back to that in-between and contact that robot! If Sonic hasn't destroyed it, that is… But I'll need the Chaos Emeralds, at least two of them in order for the portal to work…"

"Boss?" The call from Cubot caused Eggman to stop thinking and turn his attention to the robot. "We have found one of the emeralds by the entrance to this place." He said while presenting the red Chaos Emerald to the doctor, who grinned evilly at it.

"Perfect! Now I can use it to find the other one I need, and maybe even all of them!" Eggman declared while holding his hand up in triumph. "Good job, Cubot! Remind me to give you a promotion once I will rule something." Eggman said as he got to work on getting his plan under-way.

"Oh, boy! A promotion!" Cubot cheered.

"Don't raise you hopes…" Orbot told him. "I've been hearing it before you were even made." He told the very disappointed yellow robot.

Hiro scanned the mysterious gem ever since his team returned to his lab, located in the garage behind Hiro's aunt's café, where he lived. All of them were still in their Super-Hero outfits.

"Anything new there?" Go-Go was the first to speak after half an hour where Hiro scanned the strange object.

Hiro sighed and shook his head. "All we know is that it holds an incredible power."

"Something Baymax already told us." Wasabi said.

"Other than that, I have no idea what the point of this thing is; or how the power inside of it can be used, if it can be used at all, or how it even got here." Hiro informed his teammates before a strange noise from outside caught their attention.

The team got out in order to see a fat man with a red jacket and a long brown mustache flying a pod like vehicle, with two small robots accompanying him. "Greetings, my name is Dr. Eggman." He introduced himself with a bow. The yellow robot clapped for his apparent master while the red one seemed to pace palm himself at the introduction.

Hiro and his team looked at each other for a few seconds before bursting into laughter at Eggman's name, causing him to get angry with them. "Eggman? What, was "Dr. Omelet" taken?" Hiro asked mockingly as the rest of the team continued to laugh.

Their enjoyment was cut short when Eggman pushed a button on the pod's control panel, causing an army of robots to appear and surround the group. The robots were varied to say the least. Some looked like crabs, some like mantises, bees, lizards and even ladybugs. "Let's try this again." Eggman said in a surprisingly menacing voice. "My name is Dr. Eggman, and I need that emerald that you're holding." He gestured to the gem Hiro was holding in his hand. So it was an emerald. "Give me that emerald, and I will be on my merry way."

"No!" Honey Lemon was the one to interject. "We will never give it to an evil guy like you!"

"Evil? Me?" The doctor asked, as if shocked.

"Have you looked at your mustache, dude?" Fred asked him. "Also, an army of strange looking robots to do your bidding? Not too subtle."

"Huh… He is kind of right, Boss." Cubot told Eggman, who then seemed to snap.

"SILENCE! Badniks! Get that emerald!" He commended as the robots charged towards the team.

"Go-Go!" Hiro called as he threw the emerald to her. Once she caught it, Hiro told her to get away from there, seeing how she was the speed demon of the group, and come back once he tells her the gem is no longer in danger.

"Leave it to me." The girl said as she closed her helmet and dashed away from the garage; several of the ladybug Badniks following after her.

"Everyone else," Hiro told to the rest of the team who got into fighting stances, ready to take on the remaining group of robots and this Eggman person. "Fight!"

I have a feeling that this chapter is a bit shorter than the first two. But trust me, the long chapters are yet to come!

Like I said, there is a small wink to a story I wrote in the past. It's nothing major though and it serves no purpose in the overall plot, other than give Eggman more of a reason to hunt the emeralds down for the portal.

Next chapter is going to be fun. I'm looking forward to uploading that.

Hope you enjoyed and please leave a review if you have something to say!
