Gilbert woke up to find that he was alone and rolled over to check the time. He was surprised to find a glass of water, two aspirins and a note on his nightstand.
At first he thought Matthew had left, but soon caught a whiff of something good, that wasn't wurst (the only thing Ludwig could really cook), so he figured Matthew was cooking. His head was pounding from a hangover, so he took the aspirin and chugged the water before reading the note. It read:
Good morning Gilbert,
I figured you would have a hangover so I got you some aspirin, Ludwig told me where to find it. Your Grandfather went to work so I decided to make breakfast. Just come downstairs whenever you get up.
~ Matthew
Gilbert rolled out of bed, unceremoniously plopping down onto the floor before standing up and trudging out of his room. He knew Ludwig would have already left for school, since he didn't actually do anything bad he didn't get suspended. That also meant Ludwig had to bring him all of his homework.
When he got into the kitchen he found Matthew by the stove s he gracefully flipped the last pancake onto the plate. Gilbert walked up behind the Canadian and put his arms over Matthew's shoulders before leaning against him.
"Good morning Birdie," he said.
"Morning Gil," replied Matthew, smirking at the Prussian's antics.
"Hey, we didn't do anything last night did we?" asked Gilbert, emphasizing the word do.
"Well I can't remember much, but we are both fully clothed and I am not the least bit sore, I would say we didn't do anything like that," replied Matthew, getting plates out of the cabinet and pulling out some forks. "Your brother and Grandfather left a while ago."
"Ok. Can we have food now? I'm hungry," asked Gilbert.
"Yes we can," laughed Matthew, carrying the plates and pancakes to the table.
Gilbert was about to sit down when the house phone rang. He sighed and went to answer it, too lazy to actually check who was calling.
"GILBERT! Where the hell is Matthew?!" yelled Alfred through the phone.
"Damn man, were you planning on causing me to go deaf?" snapped gilbert.
"Where is my brother?"
"Here."
"Why the hell is he there? You just started dating! I swear if you slept with him…"
"We were drunk alright. We slept in the same bed but not together like you were thinking."
"You got my brother drunk?!"
"I don't think he was as drunk as me. He doesn't seem to have much of a hangover."
"Gilbert."
"Hey I have to go Al. I'm getting another call. Bye!"
"Gil-" Alfred was cut off as Gilbert hung up the phone. He hadn't been lying though, he was getting another call.
"That's just awesome," groaned Gilbert before answering the phone.
"Hey Gil, can you come pick up me and Lovi from the hotel?" asked Antonio through the phone.
"Yah dude, I'll be there as soon as I finish breakfast. Do you guys wanna come hang out at my place?"
"No sorry, we have to go home."
"It's cool. I'll be there in a bit. Bye."
"Bye." Gilbert set the phone down before digging into his pancakes, Matthew already done eating.
"I gotta go get Toni and Lovi so I am going to take you home on the way, so your brother doesn't beat the shit out of me as bad," said Gilbert between mouthfuls of pancakes.
Matthew giggled and headed to Gilbert's room to get dressed. Gilbert cleaned up their breakfast mess as he waited for Matthew to get ready.
"Ready?" asked Gilbert as Matthew came downstairs. Gilbert had slipped on a hoodie and a pair of sneakers.
"Didn't we leave the car at the park last night?" asked Matthew.
"Probably, looks like we are walking to the park," said Gilbert, grabbing his keys and trudging out the door. The walk wasn't that far, but Gilbert constantly complained because of his headache. When they got to the car and got in the radio automatically came on, blasting full volume, causing Gilbert to cuss and turn it off.
The drive to Matthew's house was mostly spent in silence and when they got there Gilbert opened the door for Matthew.
"Do want me to walk you to the door, Birdie?" asked Gilbert.
"Sure, if you want to," replied Matthew. They walked up to the door t find it locked. Matthew rang the doorbell and it was automatically flung open by Alfred. As soon as he notice Gilbert he pulled his arm back and punched Gilbert in the nose, causing him to fall backwards.
"Holy shit due, where you trying to break my nose you asshole?!" shouting Gilbert.
"Aww did I break your nose?" asked Alfred with fake sympathy.
"No," sneered Gilbert.
"Damn, too bad. Maybe you shouldn't kidnap my brother and that kinda shit won't happen!" yelled Alfred.
"I didn't fucking kidnap him! We just went out!" Gilbert yelled back, standing up.
"Well if you just went out why did you get him drunk? Why didn't he come home? Why didn't you tell me you were going somewhere?" snapped Alfred.
"Fuck you man, or should I leave that to Arthur?! I'm going to pick up Toni and Lovino, so have a fucking horrible life! Oh and bye Birdie," Gilbert said, his voice softening on the last line.
"Bye Gil," said Matthew softly as Gilbert trudged to his car. He slammed the car door behind him and drove away in the direction of the hotel. He found Antonio and Lovino waiting for him outside the hotel and they piled into the car as soon as he stopped.
"Took you long enough, bastard," snapped Lovino as he shut the door.
"Be happy I didn't make you walk with your sore ass," growled Gilbert. Lovino simply blushed and the spent the rest of the ride in silence. After he dropped them off, Gilbert's mind began to wander to Matthew.
Despite what he thought would happen, he seemed to actually be developing feelings for the small blond. He wasn't sure how he was going to tell him it was all a lie. He feeling would probably just go away and he would be cold and blunt like usual.
He pulled into the driveway of his house and trudged upstairs, hoping a nap would help his hangover.
After Monday, nothing very interesting happened. Gilbert spent most of the days in his room listening to music, doing his homework and occasionally working on the video he had started making. His feelings of caring for Matthew had died down and he was back to finding it amusing that he was going to break the poor Canadian's heart.
He had talked to Matthew every day and was learning more and more about him and also making his way deeper and deeper into his heart, making it so it would be all the more painful for the Canadian when Gilbert told him it was a lie. They were currently talking about their plans for the next day. They had convinced both of their parents to allow them to go on a date.
They had decided to go get some pizza and then go see a movie. There had been a large debate over what movie they wanted to see, but they eventually settled on a horror movie Gilbert wanted to see. He didn't even know what it was about; he just wanted to see if it could scare Matthew into clinging to him.
He smirked at the thought, knowing that this was all basically to tear out Matthew's heart and stomp on it. He had done this to so many girls, but as much as he tried to ignore it there was a small part of him that felt bad about it. He wondered how Matthew would react, probably crying. He figured Alfred would probably kick his ass, since he almost broke his nose for getting Matthew drunk. Gilbert was pretty strong though, so he figured he stood a pretty good chance against Alfred.
"Bruder, I'm home," announced Ludwig, bringing Gilbert his homework.
"Danke, bruder," said Gilbert, starting the work. After about an hour and a half he finished all his homework and organized it all by class before putting it in his backpack. After he finished his homework he decided to pick out his outfit for tomorrow.
He walked over to his closet, looking at all his shirts and trying to decide what to wear. He eventually decided on a My Chemical Romance t-shirt and a pair of red skinny jeans. He pulled out his combat boots and his leather jacket as well. After he finished deciding this he was called to dinner.
As soon as he finished eating he returned to his room and let Gilbird out of his cage to fly around. The small canary had other plans as he flew into Gilbert's hair and fell asleep. Gilbert smirked as he walked over and picked up his guitar. He took a seat and began to work on the song he had been writing and continued to work on it until he decided to go to sleep.
Gilbert had just got out of the shower and was getting ready for his date with Matthew. When he finished getting ready it was already 5:30 so he grabbed his wallet, shoving it in his back pocket as he grabbed his car keys and hurried out the door.
His car seemed almost foreign to him now since he had cleaned it. The outside had been washed to where it almost sparkled and all the trash had been cleaned from the interior which had also been wiped down and vacuumed. 'So much work for someone who I am just going to dump,' thought Gilbert as he got in the car.
The drive to Matthew's house was short and Gilbert straightened his clothes as he walked up to the front door, ringing the doorbell. It was answered by Matthew and Alfred's parents (Who went by Jones, not Williams) and Gilbert could see Alfred glaring at him from the living room.
"Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Jones. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am here to take Matthew on a wonderful date, with your permission, of course," said Gilbert politely, shaking hands with both of Matthew's parents.
"It's very nice to meet you Gilbert. We have heard a lot about you. You may take him out as long as you take care of him," replied Matthew's mom with a small smile.
"You have my word," said Gilbert with a small bow.
Matthew walked downstairs and took Gilbert's hand. "Bye mom, bye dad!" he said, pulling Gilbert down the driveway.
"Bye! Have fun you two, but not too much," said Mrs. Jones, waving to them.
Gilbert opened the car door to let Matthew in and then got in himself, slumping in his seat with a sigh.
"I didn't know the awesome Gilbert could be so formal," laughed Matthew.
"That is never to be spoken of, ever," sighed Gilbert as he pulled the car away from Matthew's house. Their conversations were completely random on the way to the pizza shop, switching from topic to topic.
When they arrived at the pizza place they had a large argument about the type of pizza they were getting, but they eventually settled on a half sausage half Canadian bacon pizza. They talked about the countries they came from and shared stories of living there throughout dinner. When they finished eating it was about 7 and their movie started at 7:15.
The drive to the movie theater took about ten minutes, where they got their tickets and were currently standing in the concession line.
"Hey Birdie, what do you want?" asked Gilbert, snaking his arm around Matthew's waist.
"I'm not very hungry since we just ate," replied Matthew.
"Ok, I'll have a large mountain dew, large popcorn, and a pack of Twizzlers," Gilbert said to the man at the counter.
"Why Twizzlers?" asked Matthew.
"Birdie, Twizzlers are the shit," replied Gilbert. Matthew just rolled his eyes as Gilbert got the food. They then headed to their theater, while was nearly empty. They took seats in the middle of one of the upper rows and propped their feet on the chairs in front of them. Gilbert placed his arm around Matthew's shoulders as the movie started.
Once the scary stuff began Matthew began to jump and bury his face in Gilbert's chest. Gilbert found his easily scared nature to be kind of cute.
'And you are the one who is planning to crush this poor little Birdie's heart,' said a voice in the back of Gilberts head. The idea wasn't as appealing as earlier, but Gilbert still wasn't against it yet. After about an hour and a half the movie ended and they exited the theater. Gilbert then took Matthew home, opening the door to let him out.
Before Matthew walked to his house Gilbert kissed him on the cheek, making him blush. Gilbert got an odd feeling in his stomach at the cute blush, but he brushed it off as nothing as he drove home.
Tada! The new chapter! I'm still super sorry about the late-ness, but I hoped you liked it!
*Gilbert and Alfred fighting in the background*
IN: Just ignore them. They just need to get some stuff worked out.
