As she felt his lips gently kissing each tip of her fingers, the tears that were flowing down her cheeks up to that moment suddenly stopped. She opened her eyes and glanced up at him.
"Kakashi …" She breathed, barely audible. She could feel her own heart beating in her head, a frantic throbbing. Her blood rushed through her veins, into her head and made her feel dizzy.
Kakashi entrapped one of her fingers between his lips, tenderly pressed his teeth down on the pad of her index finger, coaxing a soft gasp from her lips. At that he finally opened his eyes and looked into her face, a tender smile curling around the edge of his lips.
"Let it all out." He placed a hand against her cheek. "I'll catch every single one of your tears."
A heartbeat later he leaned further down towards her face, gently brushing away the remnants of her previously shed tears by simply kissing them away.
