.A/N: Whoo, chapter 3. It's been a Loooooooooooooooooooooong while. You people. I have to say that while reviews would be nice (Fucking Awesome) the fact that the view count for this story doubled when I posted the last chapter kind of helps with confidence. So thanks to all who're reading and, even if you're a guest, putting a review would be dandy. Honestly, if you like this, then say so. That means a hell of a lot more to me than if you just view it.
DemiDevimon watched in awe and fear. Before three Mega levels were five of the esteemed Royal Knights: Magnamon, Dynasmon, Crusadermon, Kentaurosmon, and the unconscious Gallantmon. Magnamon's armour glowed as if it had just been retrieved from a volcano and was still hot. Dynasmon's armour was stark white, his purple wings flapping to keep him afloat. Crusadermon's armour was pink with her light yellow ribbons and the gauntlet on her right hand was the same yellow, but also had a red cross on it. Kentaurosmon adorned red armour that fit his quadrupedal form and also had his large bow brandished. Gallantmon was still unconscious in the dirt.
"This is unbelievable." Five Royal Knights going after the X-Antibody was incredible. His lord would surely be pleased. However, he stayed and watched to see how it all would unfold.
BlackWarGreymon cursed his luck. Of all the enemies to come forth, why was it the five Royal Knights who nearly killed him?
"What in the name of the Celestials are you doing? Attacking a Royal Knight is high treason! We should kill you for this." Magnamon was the speaker, and the three Royal Knights who joined him readied for combat. However, Magnamon waved them down. "But, I'm willing to listen to your story before this gets out of hand."
"There is no story. They're planning on destroying the X-Antibody." All turned to Gallantmon, who struggled to stand while using his lance as a stabilizer.
"What are you talking about Gallantmon? The X-Antibody does not-"
"Silence!" The Knights backed from their angered comrade, especially Magnamon, who made the comment. "There is no other side to the story, no argument to be made, only criminals who plan to destroy a precious artifact!" BlackWarGreymon, WarGreymon, and MetalGarurumon stood to face Gallantmon, who looked mad enough to even combat his fellow Royal Knights simply to get his point across.
"The X-Antibody does exist, but it needs to be destroyed. It only corrupts those who wield it." MetalGarurumon tried for the diplomatic approach, however his remark on the existence of the X-Antibody turned the heads of every present Royal Knight.
"It exists?" Dynasmon was the asker. However, the three Megas stood ready for battle, getting the point across more so than Gallantmon's ranting. Magnamon glared at the three Digimon.
"Kentaurosmon, take Gallantmon back to the castle. He needs healing. Crusadermon, Dynasmon and I will take on these three." Gallantmon started protesting, only to take Kentaurosmon's bow to the back of his helmet, knocking him out again. Lifting the unconscious Knight on his back, Kentaurosmon rode off while the remaining Knights faced the defending Megas.
"You plan to take it by force?" Magnamon glared at BlackWarGreymon for his question.
"If this fight is going to be as easy as our first match, then it will hardly require force." BlackWarGreymon glared. "Yes, I never forget a fight. Yours stood out due to your weakness." Dynasmon and Crusadermon both showed that they recognized BlackWarGreymon.
"Well things change. If I'm a match for Gallantmon, then this will be more difficult."
"We'll see." Magnamon flew at BlackWarGreymon, shouldering him hard with his large shoulder plate. Dynasmon flew at WarGreymon and Crusadermon attacked MetalGarurumon.
"Dragon Roar!" Dynasmon fired twin lighting blasts from his hands, which were blocked by WarGreymon's Brave Shield. However, Dynasmon got physical quickly, bashing his fists into WarGreymon's shield, pushing the dragon warrior back several steps with brute force.
"Is that all you really have? Some miniscule blasts and fists?" Dynasmon took the insult with a grain of salt, shooting up and down in a turn as sharp as a blade coming behind WarGreymon and blasting him with Dragon Roar, twin fire bolts.
"These 'miniscule' attacks are all I need. Considering my Dragon Roar has the power of the Ten Legendary Warriors, you should fear my power." To show his example, Dynasmon fired an ice bolt and a water bolt, hitting the downed WarGreymon. "I have the elements of the Ten Legendary Warriors at hand, you're no match for me." WarGreymon, however, shakily stood up and faced Dynasmon, Dramon Killers brandished.
"We'll see about that." He leapt at Dynasmon, Dramon Killers slashing away. Dynasmon flew up in the air while WarGreymon followed him. As he flew up, Dynasmon saw his pink partner combating the blue armoured wolf.
"Spiral Masquerade!" The yellow ribbons on Crusadermon shot out and lashed at MetalGarurumon like many deadly whips. MetalGarurumon took several hits while trying to dodge. His armour took most of them, but the exposed fur parts took a couple hits that drew blood. When Crusadermon's offense paused for her to ready another attack, MetalGarurumon countered.
"Metal Wolf Claw!" he shot a blue beam out of his open mouth, hitting Crusadermon dead centre and sending her flying. However, the pink Knight gripped the earth with her hand, stopped her motion, and flipped back on her feet.
"Shouldn't you use your claws for that?" MetalGarurumon growled at Crusadermon.
"My attacks are what they are." The many armour plates on the metal wolf's body opened up to show the large missile arsenal. "Ice Wolf Bite!" The missile array launched and sought Crusadermon out.
"Spiral Masquerade!" the yellow ribbons stopped each missile in its tracks, making ice crystals rain around her. When the missiles were destroyed, Crusadermon stopped to admire their beauty. "So beautiful and unique. Much like my-"
"Garuru Tomahawk!" Crusadermon saw a large missile aim right for her and hit, sending her flying while instantly having most of her frozen. She landed with a thud as the chest plate on MetalGarurumon closed. He readied for another beam, but Crusadermon's gauntlet had a front part that was semi-separated. That section of the gauntlet slammed into its place, creating a shockwave that shattered the ice. Crusadermon stood, brushing the remaining ice off of her. If her face was showing, it'd show anger.
"How dare you. You nearly ruined my beauty." MetalGarurumon was fed up at this point.
"Beauty. You make me laugh Royal Knight." The panels opened to show another missile salvo. "I think it's time you were shown how ugly you are." he steadies himself. "Ice Wolf Bite!" the missiles fired, but Crusadermon countered.
"Spiral Masquerade!" she sawed through the missiles, creating a cloud of ice dust. MetalGarurumon worried that she might spring from the cloud. His suspicions were confirmed when Crusadermon flew from the ice cloud, her gauntlet in one piece. "Fist of Athena!" MetalGarurumon tried to activate his jets, but Crusadermon beat him to the literal punch, sending him flying against the tree, leaving several cracks in his Digizoid armour. It hurt.
"Is that *hack hack* all you've got?" Crusadermon started shaking with rage.
"I'll show you what I've got stupid wolf!" she readied her gauntlet. However, a stray rainbow coloured blast hit behind Crusadermon, sending the pink Knight sprawling. MetalGarurumon looked up to see BlackWarGreymon and Magnamon clashing viciously in aerial combat.
"Magna Blast!" a stream of rainbow flew at BlackWarGreymon.
"Terra Destroyer!" he made a medium sized ball and threw it. The resulting explosion sent a large shockwave that separated the two, but not for long. They flew at each other, fists and claws flying and hitting and slashing at the two fighters.
"Magna Punch!" Magnamon's arm glowed gold as he swung. However, BlackWarGreymon ducked and upper-cutted the golden Knight. BlackWarGreymon landed several more forceful blows on Magnamon before the Knight's entire body glowed with a golden light. "Magna Beam!" stretching out his arms and legs, Magnamon fired a gold beam the size of his body, hitting the black dragon warrior and sending him careening into the giant tree. Magnamon levitated down a bit to see the damage when a black spiral collided with him.
"Black Tornado!" Magnamon was shoved up and then hammered down to the earth where he made a crater with his body. However, when BlackWarGreymon stopped spinning and looked down, he was met with a wonderful surprise.
"Magna Punch!" BlackWarGreymon took the golden punch to his covered jaw and flew sky high, only to be met in mid-air by the golden Knight, who cocked his leg. "Magna Kick!" his foot impacted the dark warrior in his side and slung him down to the ground. However, Magnamon wasn't done just yet. "Magna Blast!" from his shoulder segments, a rainbow burst. And each individual blast either flew past the falling warrior, or hit him and sent him towards the earth faster and faster until he impacted. Magnamon flew down fast to inspect the hope fully fallen-
"Terra Destroyer!" Magnamon turned to see the giant red sphere right in front of him.
"What!?" was all he could manage before it impacted, exploding and sending the golden Knight down. BlackWarGreymon levitated from where he threw the attack. His armour had cracks in it from Magnamon's physical attacks. One crack was on his helmet, running through the right eye hole. He only managed to barely get away from Magnamon's Manga Blast while the explosions covered his tracks. The dust cleared and Magnamon lay still on the ground. BlackWarGreymon was breathing heavily and could only float until he heard some commotion below. He looked to see WarGreymon overpowering Dynasmon, who was calling for help.
"Crusadermon!" The pink knight turned to see Dynasmon blasting at WarGreymon, who was slashing wildly at the Knight. Crusadermon saw that MetalGarurumon was down for the count from her Fist of Athena. She ran to help out her comrade.
"Spiral Masquerade!" her yellow ribbons flew and attacked WarGreymon who turned and tried to swipe at her, but caught a blast from Dynasmon in the back.
"Dragon Roar!" Dynasmon fired twin fire and lightning bolts at WarGreymon while Crusadermon used her ribbons to whip him back and forth.
"No…." MetalGarurumon saw the two Knights gang up on his old friend. He turned his head to see Magnamon had gotten back up and was fighting BlackWarGreymon with fists alone as both took too much damage to use energy for attacks. Their new temporary ally was holding off one Royal Knight on his own, but WarGreymon was being slaughtered. "No." MetalGarurumon felt rage unlike he had ever felt before. He moved himself into a standing position, as much as it hurt. "WarGreymon!" he called for his friend, who took a blast from Dynasmon and stumbled.
"Fist of Athena!" Crusadermon's gauntlet hit WarGreymon dead center of his chest and sent him flying until Dynasmon blasted him into the ground. The dust cleared to show WarGreymon not moving.
"NO!" MetalGarurumon felt a surge of power. All the fighters stopped to see the armoured wolf glow with power. His Fractal Code appeared from thin air and wrapped around him. "MetalGarurumon! Digivolve to!" The Fractal Code spun for a second more before leaving to show a newly repaired armoured wolf. His claws were now teal, armour covered his entire body, his tail was now grey with a blaster on the end, he had new missile launchers on his front shoulders, and he had a massive cannon with a revolver cylinder on his back. "ZeedGarurumon!"
"What happened to him?" Crusadermon backed up with her comrade. This ZeedGarurumon looked fresh and ready for combat. And angry. He glared at both Royal Knights who stood over his friend and growled loudly. He stabilized himself and the cannon on his back charged.
"Zeed Cannon!" he fired a massive blue bolt that hit Crusadermon spot on, blasting the Knight back, carving a hole in the woods. Dynasmon's eyes widened as he backed up, his wings fluttering for flight. However, as ZeedGarurumon charged his cannon for another shot, Dynasmon readied another attack.
"Breath of Wyvern!" Dynasmon turned into a giant beast made of white flame. However, ZeedGarurumon jumped back and every slot on his armour opened, revealing an arsenal unlike before. His tail took aim and his cannon charged.
"Full Metal Breath!" ZeedGarurumon fired everything at the white flaming dragon as it charged. The resulting explosion sent both fighters flying, leaving a massive crater in the ground. Dynasmon shakily stood, the attack and counterattack taking a lot of energy. He looked around and noticed that it the area was still. Across the crater was ZeedGarurumon lying on his side, unconscious but stirring. WarGreymon had been flung from the force, remaining unconscious and even more battered than he already was.
"That didn't go as expected." the White Knight muttered. He looked around the area of effect, surveying the damage. It was a massive crater spanning several metres. Dynasmon noticed his the two opponents, one his teammate, the other not, on opposite sides of the large crater, unmoving. Glancing up, The White Knight noticed Magnamon and BlackWarGreymon hanging over separate branches, but groaning as they regained their senses. Dynasmon made a quick evaluation. Crusadermon was wounded and down, Magnamon and BlackWarGreymon were moving but BlackWarGreymon seemed to be recovering quicker, and with himself not having much energy left. Best chances were to retreat, regroup, and hopefully come back with a better plan of attack. The Royal Knight made his way to his downed pink comrade, picked her up, and flew up to Magnamon.
"Magnamon. I think it's for the best if we retreat and regroup. Both sides are too weak at this point." Magnamon's eye opened and he glared at BlackWarGreymon, who kept trying to get up.
"You're right. Let's retreat." Magnamon dropped and grabbed the branch, swinging up and onto the top. Then, with a powerful leap, Magnamon began floating and flew away with Dynasmon as BlackWarGreymon managed to free himself and fall to the ground with a heavy, metal thud. He surveyed the area by sight and looked up to see his retreating foes.
"Not much of a victory." he remarked, standing up. "But still, this makes me wonder why the Royal Knights seem to want this thing for themselves."
