Hi,

I'm really sorry for letting you wait this long. Recently I received three reviews and so here's finally the next chapter.

Last time I forgot to say, but Elphaba'sGirl is on the right way! The first time she had one right answer, the next time two! Kudos! :D Anyways, this kind of reminds me of Master Mind (you know that game, right?). Of course I'm not going to tell which ones were right already, but you'll figure out. ImDefyingGravity is also often right! Thanks for reviewing, by the way. Last one, WickedGirl, also really good.

I think it's quite obvious in this chapter who's talking, but I'd still like to know. ;) It's still some sort introduction to the characters, so yeah. And yay for breaklines, because you have to think harder. :P (I forgot some breaklines the first time, so I hope you didn't read yet! XD)

I'd like to special thank my friend Maddy, she really is a wonderful person. Xxx

Once again, thank you all for reviewing and reading!

Perfect And Deserving Each Other

"Honey, we need to talk."

"I guess we do."

Two figures were walking through the town, a rather tall handsome young man and a little blonde girl. They were happy and content with each other and themselves. People watched them going. Everyone wanted to be them, they were a dream pair, and they knew that. The young man stopped at a bakery, buying his girlfriend some chocolate. She giggled and made clear with great gestures that he 'didn't have to do that' and that she 'loved him so much'. They were perfect.

The tall man, better known as the Boyfriend was a prince. A crown prince to be exact. His reputation was scandalous. 'Scandalous and handsome' as they called him. He'd never made much of his life. He was naïve, genuinely self-absorbed and deeply shallow, he was a jerk, but who did ever mind?

She was blonde and short, but sharp and bitchy. Always giggling, always hurrying. They called her the Blonde, but 'Miss Vanity' would've been a better name. Her father was an important business man. Every young man fell for her, she was the prettiest girl at the university. And, wasn't being rich and pretty all you needed in life?

However, there was no doubt that they were perfect, they belonged together. With both a high status and money like water their future was looming.

"Oh honey, you really didn't have to do that!" the girl exclaimed.

"Well, I did, didn't I?" he shrugged.

She kissed him quickly on the cheek, he didn't flinch.

"Would you like one?" She opened the box with chocolates he had just bought for her and gave him one.

He smiled slightly, "Thanks."

He walked further with her. The Shiz University was lying peacefully in the glorious layers of the last sunbeams. He'd taken her to town. They'd had a nice time together, but they were really nothing more than friends.

"I love you," she said, taking his free hand.

"I love you, too."

It felt so wrong, but there was no other choice. If their parents would find out that they were 'dating', a marriage would probably soon be arranged.

She urged him to stop and together they watched the sun set.

He was known as the man with a cold heart. A great actor he was, real emotions were almost never shown. He was not often grateful. He was just there, working quite hard, but never , he'd tried to hit on other persons, but he was often turned away. Now he had ended up with this girl. Yes, she was pretty and lovely, but not what he wanted. No offense, he loved her like a sister but in no other way. Yet he had become her boyfriend.

They weren't meant to be, yet they deserved each other. They had convinced themselves they didn't deserve more or less and that was the end of it. They knew there would be an arranged marriage, but until that day they had decided to keep their distance. She however wanted to make the best of it, get to know each other better. There was not much of a choice left for him so he cooperated. The question if they were both happy wasn't quite simply to answer. She was devoted to him, he wasn't. But she was his social life, through her he had contacts with the world, though her he was able to attend Shiz.

She was tragically beautiful, her skin pale and her maroon hair long and straight. You'd envy her for everything and decline her nothing. They called her the Princess. She was a neat person, she was innocence itself. She wasn't very social, but Shiz surely had changed her, she'd opened up more to others. She liked to command persons around, she had a personal servant and then there was also her boyfriend. He was a gentleman, he did everything for her, but didn't everyone do the same? She however, seemed happy enough with her life.

"Nothing is what it seems."

"Right, that's what Elphie said."

"What did she mean?"

"I don't know... I love you."

"I love you, too." He kissed her softly.

She averted her gaze as she spoke, "Weren't we supposed to talk about something?"

He only shrugged.

Neither of them wanted to think, neither of them wanted to take another step into the future. The pain was unspoken, but something was really wrong. Perfect facades, makeup and tight pants made it all right. Where did it all go wrong? As their minds traveled into history, finding no answers, nothing to remember because the alcohol had erased a whole past, the heartache was almost unbearable.

"Say the magical words," she whispered.

"I love you?" he tried.

"No. No, never leave me, take me out of this hell."

"I will. I will get us out of here, unless marry me."

She blinked slowly, "What?"

"What do we both have to lose? What will ease the pain otherwise?"

"Forbidden love doesn't last long," she muttered.

"You're right there. That's why we need to get married. That's why we are perfect like no other couples."

He was more trying to convince themselves that this solution was the only one than listening to their hearts. The distance between them, the silence screaming for help.

"I... Yes. I'll marry you, but give me a few days before I give my permanent 'yes', okay?"

"That's fine, whatever you wish."

He tried to smile and then kissed her to seal their bond.

"Nothing is what it seems, Miss Elphaba."

"I know that very well, Dr. Dillamond," said the young Witch when she rose to her feet.

Dr. Dillamond was an imposing Goat and one of the few teachers left being an Animal. Elphaba simply adored him, he was a very clever Animal being. The History classes of Dr. Dillamond were never boring, according to the green girl. Elphaba helped him with searching for information after class every Thursday.

"You don't know what you're doing," he murmured.

"I'm helping you, if I'm right," the Witch's voice sounded slightly irritated as she moved to get a pencil to mark something in the old book she was holding.

The old Goat's eyes were difficult to see through. He wasn't himself lately. He'd began to doubt Elphaba's doings and feared for his own safety. Elphaba knew this, but didn't talk about it, for it was only something she assumed.

"Yes, you're right. Thank you for that."

"You know, Dr Dillamond? You shouldn't let ignorant statements like that bother you. I mean, I always do, but you shouldn't," Elphaba said, exactly knowing what was bothering the old Goat.

"But you and Madame Morrible..." he sighed, letting go of his frustration.

"Hush," Elphaba warned, "Don't worry about that. Really, trust me, did I ever let you down?"

"You're just so young and given the fact that history always repeats itself."

"Not if I could help it."

"You should get going to your dorm, it's getting late."

"I've underlined the important things in this book, here," she said ignoring his last comment as she handed him the old book.

"Thank you, Miss Elphaba," he nodded.

"Dr. Dillamond."

The door closed almost inaudible. Silence filled the space. The old Goat shook his head in an attempt to clear his thoughts, but to no success. He had shown the young Witch a part of his doubts and he was sure she'd figured out much more already. Elphaba was a good person, but still so young and impressionable. He heaved a sigh once more before leaving the classroom and turning the key in its lock.

Make up your Wicked minds, Ozians!
