"Damn, he really did a number on her," he heard Kuwabara say quietly.
Silence ensued; there was only the sound of soft footsteps on the tatami and the occasional rustling of a kimono from the other room as no one seemed to know how to reply. He felt Yusuke tense from beside him when the door slid open and Yukina came out with a bowl and a towel. He tried to ignore the other fabric she was carrying; tattered pink stained with dark red. "How is she?" Yusuke asked.
"She's sleeping," she replied with a sad smile. "Genkai tried everything she could but some wounds…" He saw her grip tighten as she continued. "It will take time, but she will be okay."
Yusuke stepped forward. "Can I see her?"
Yukina nodded and he watched as the hark-haired boy went inside and slid the door shut behind him.
