I dedicate this chapter to TheAlpaca'sSubmarineSandwich, thank you for your lovely review and for getting me back to writing this, however long it may take me!

As soon as the sun was up, the three were out and looking for Leo around the large city of Rome. Lisa decided that since she was in a different city, it would be okay to walk around in a dress and without her short hair wig.

"Should we split up?" Lisa suggested. "That way we might be able to find Leo quicker." she said and the others nodded, Lorenzo walking left of the building which they were staying in, Mac going to the right and Lisa going straight ahead to look for the artist she loved.

After an hour of roaming the city, Lisa was ready to cry, no one had seen Leo, and she worried that it might take her days or weeks to find him, maybe even longer if he decided to lose his city during that time.

She just really hoped that the others had better luck than she had.

"I must've spoken to a hundred people." Mac said, digging a spoon into his ice cream as Lisa and Lorenzo just stared at theirs.

"I spoke to near enough the same." Lorenzo said, looking over at Lisa. "No one had seen him...I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault." she said and picked up her spoon. "It's mine." she sighed and started eating her ice cream.

"Don't say that Lisa." Lorenzo said and rested his hand on her shoulder in comfort.

"It's true." she said and the others didn't say anything more, not wanting to make things worse, instead they just all finished their ice cream and made their way back to the building where there were staying during their stay in Rome.

"We can stay here as long as it takes, Roma is only so big, and Leo must be in the city somewhere." Mac said and turned a corner nearly walking straight into someone. "Sorry mate, I-" he began but stopped as he realised who it was he had walked into.

"Leo." Lisa gasped and his wide brown eyes scanned the three of them and realised he wasn't going to be able to get out of here without having to talk and explain himself to them. "Don't run." she begged, knowing just what he was thinking and he stilled. "I need to talk to you." she said and looked to Mac and Lorenzo at her sides and they backed away, walking past Leo and to their hotel, leaving the two artists alone.

"Lisa-"

"Let's go somewhere where we can talk in private, I'd rather not everyone in Roma know what is going on between us."

"Yeah." Leo agreed and she walked past him to a place she had passed not that long ago that she didn't see that many people going to, it would be the perfect place to talk out everything that they needed to. Leo quickly followed behind, wanting to see what she had to say and maybe apologise for his stupid actions.

They sat alone in a small cafe, two tables out front, one of which they were sat at. A waiter had come outside and served them some drinks, neither of them had the stomach to eat anything.

"Lisa, before you say anything, I just want to say-"

"I left Verrocchio's." Lisa said suddenly, stopping Leo from what he was saying and then to stop herself from saying anything else, she started to drink her drink and avoided looking at Leo's face, by looking down at the table, tracing all the nicks and bumps and dents in it.

"What?" he said after a few minutes of silence. "Why?"

"I told Maestro that I would be leaving for two years to look after my sister as she was very ill, and that if I needed to extend that time I would write to him and let him know. He said that after those two years or longer, I can return to the workshop. I left because...because...if the question is still there...I would like to change my answer." she stuttered out and Leo just sat there, drink in his hand, mouth agape, eyes wide, just staring at her.

"It's still there." he said after he regained his senses.

"Then I want to say yes." she said, putting down her glass, with a wide smile on her face. "Yes, I will marry you." she said and Leo jumped up from where he was sitting and leaned over the table to kiss his now fiance, it was a hard kiss, but it didn't hurt, it was amazing and the two got lost in the moment, a cough breaking them apart.

"Sorry." they apologised as they saw the waiter with two menus.

"Would you like to look at the menus?" he said, looking up the young lovers. "Or would you rather continue with someone else?" he said, making the two chuckle nervously and they took the menus from the waiter and waited for him to leave before they even looked at each other.

"Have whatever you want, it's on me." Leo smiled at his fiance.

"Leo, I can pay for myself…" she said and then realised that she had left all of her money at the place she, Mac and Lorenzo were staying. "I can pay you back…" she corrected herself.

"You've just agreed to be my wife, the least I can do is buy you dinner for changing your mind." he said and she frowned.

"I'm sorry I didn't say yes in the first place, I panicked, and-"

"It's okay." Leo reassured her. "You've said yes now." he said and put his menu down, and removing her own from her hands and then entwined their fingers. "I love you."

"I love you too." she choked out, her throat full of emotion.

The two ordered some food after and enjoyed their food and the pieces of conversation that drifted between them about their engagement, her leaving Verrocchio's, when they were going to tell everyone, how Leo was going to tell his Maestro about the engagement without giving away that Lisa and Tomaso were the same person and various other things.

But then something came to Leo's mind that he just had to ask her.

"Why're you taking a two year leave?" he questioned her.

"What?"

"Why two years, it seems like a long time, the wedding planning, the wedding, the honeymoon...it wouldn't take a year, or even half a year, let alone two years, so why so long?" he asked, making the question more clear and he could see her cheeks getting pink.

"I took two years off, because, maybe…" she started but the more she spoke, the more red her face became.

"Maybe?" he prompted her and she decided just to say it.

"Maybe we could try for a baby." she said and Leo's face went just as red, but he grinned, making Lisa feel more at ease and she smiled. "I know we're still young, but if we start now then we can have a lot of children, and, I've always wanted a big family." Lisa admitted.

"So do I." Leo admitted. "My family was large, but I was an outsider, I don't want any of my children to feel that way, and…"

"And?"

"I'm just worried I'll be just like my father, he barely sees, speaks or writes to me, he sent me away because he was worried his wife and I were going to start a love affair, now he doesn't inform his wives of me." he said and looked down at his now empty plate.

"Leo." she said and places her hands on top of his. "You will be a great father." she assured him. "I know you will."

"And you will make a great mother." he said, lifting up her hands so that he could kiss the backs of them in a romantic gesture which made Lisa blush even more, although that was near impossible now.

"How many children do you want to have?" Lisa said, wanting to stay on the topic of children.

Leo thought for a moment before answering the question that she had put forward. "I want a son and a daughter, and after that I don't mind, as many children that you are willing to give me."

"What if I have two sons?"

"Then we can try for a daughter."

"Three sons?"

"It would be the same for any number of sons, Lisa, I love you."

"I love you." she replied. "It's going to get dark soon, I better get back to where I am staying with Mac and Lorenzo...where are you staying?2 she asked, standing up from her place at the table which Leo did soon after.

"A place not that far away from here, The Gippo?" he said and Lisa's eyes went wide.

"That's basically opposite of the place we're staying." Lisa said in shock.

"And you didn't find me until about two hours ago?" Leo said, teasing her and she gave him a playful slap on his upper arm. "Would you like me to walk you home, Miss Gherardini?" he asked, holding out his arm for her to take.

"Yes thank you Mister da Vinci." she replied, taking his arm. "Oh to think I'll soon be Missus da Vinci." she smiled, almost in a dream like state.

"I'm sorry I can't give you a real surname." Leo apologised.

"da Vinci is a real surname." she said to him. "And one that I am very happy to take for my own and give to our children." she smiled, and placed her head on his shoulder as they walked to the street which they were heading for.

"I shall see you in the morning." Leo said, giving her a quick kiss before they parted ways.

"You better, I love you!" she shouted after him.

"I love you too!"
