Lars' Pov,
We had been released from our 'meeting' and were sent home as the final bell had rung only moments after we had finished. As it was a Friday and Lexi's dance had been cancelled today all three of us were free after school, so we decided to have a sleepover at my place. Ebony and I were sitting in my car at Lexi pulled up beside us on her red Harley Davidson Fat Boy,
"I'm just gonna grab my shit for dance tomorrow and some overnight stuff, I'll be there soon," She said pulling her black helmet over her head and fastening up her gloves.
"Coolio, we have to swing past Ebony's on the way home anyway lmao," I said, leaning over the middle console so she could hear me better. She flipped down the tinted visor on her helmet and gave a thumbs up before driving off out of the parking lot and down the road.
The drive to Ebony's house was pleasant, full of laughter and terrible off-key singing. E didn't show her self once, which was nice for a change. As we pulled up to her driveway, I turned the music off, and we got out of the car. She pulled her house key out of her pocket and unlocked the door.
We walked down the hallway past the living room and up the stairs. We passed a few more doors then entered Ebony's room. She dumped her school bag on the floor grabbing her laptop out and placing it on the bed. She then grabbed some clothes and stuffed them into an overnight bag, Before changing herself. She pulled her long dark brown hair into a middle ponytail at the back of her head. She pulled on some loose fitting sweatpants and a cropped camo print shirt. She walked down the hall into the second-floor bathroom, grabbing her toothbrush hairbrush and other toiletries.
Shoving her feet into a pair of black vans she picked up her shit and walked back downstairs, with me following close behind.
Lexi's Pov,
I pulled into Lars' Driveway next to his car, I kicked at the kickstand and dismounted my bike. I untied and grabbed my bags from the back of my bike and shuffled my way inside the house.
"Guys…" Before I could finish I was attacked with a mix of glitter and confetti. Ebony and Lars then erupted in a fit of laughter, "You guys are cruel," I said, the others just kept laughing. I rolled my eyes and walked down the hall dumping my stuff and changing out of my Bike gear, into some black fat pants and a Bisexual pride crop top. I took my hair out shaking out the glitter, and putting it back up into a messy bun. I could still hear the overwhelming roar of laughter echoing across the halls into Lars' room. I know it's weird, especially when you take into consideration of how many times I've stepped into his room, but whenever I do I can't help but giggle about how geeky and bright his room was. Each wall was covered in posters of all the fandoms he's joined throughout the years, his carpet was overlapped with old drawings and food wrappers, and his room only became more geeky when you turned off the lights as green silhouettes appeared on the roof of his room. Yep as you could probably tell if there were three words to describe lars it would be "big, gay, nerd" which is one of the things I really liked about him and his room as it seemed to portray that. Although despite all the colorful distractions consuming room I also couldn't help but feel a little bit of sympathy for him, memories of seeing him bruised, bloody and a total mess still haunts me to this day, and each day it only ever seems to get worse yet he still smiles and acts cheery even when he doesn't actually mean it.
All of of a sudden I could feel eyes glaring at me in the distance. I turned to see both Ebony and Lars' heads peeking out the door frame.
"Yo," Lars said walking in,
"Hey," I responded taking a deep breath in, ignoring any and all bad thoughts in my mind. Lars flopped onto the bed and Spoke,
"Wadaya wanna do?" He asked, turning his head to the side to look at me.
"EAT, I'm bloody hungry," I said.
"Actually now that I think about it, same." Ebony said making her way down the hall to the kitchen.
I pulled Lars up of his bed -almost falling over in the process- and joined Ebony in the kitchen. All three of us sluggishly moved towards the kitchen, as we began to stash all the food we possibly could and sneak back towards lars' room. The rest of the sleepover seemed pretty nice, mostly full of laughter and dumb references to our abnormal inside jokes, the only thing that seemed a bit off was the fact that E hadn't even shown herself once. Usually she'd appear maybe once or twice during conversation, even if it was for a split second, which either meant Ebony was in control the whole time or E was waiting for something to happen but there was nothing to wait for it's nothing more than a dumb sleepover wasn't it? Hours began to pass and as enjoyable as the evening was in couldn't help but feel incredibly uncomfortable when midnight rolled round. "Okay Lexi truth or dare?" Lars said as one of his brows perked up. I looked back at him knowing exactly what he was about to ask if I went with truth, "Hmm lemme think" I said, Lars leaning in with excitement and anticipation,
"how about… DARE" Lars' face dropped in disappointment, I couldn't risk spelling out my feeling towards Ed out loud to them or else I'd never hear the end of it. I could hear ebony in the corner snorting to herself. Lars sighed, pouting his lips and crossing his arms "your no fun, I guess you'll just have to…" his eyes quickly turned to the bottle of hot sauce as he smirked back at me, "CHUG DOWN THIS ENTIRE BOTTLE OF HOT SAUCE!". I looked back at him almost looking very serious until my uncontainable laughing spilled out of my mouth, he began to look both concerned and terrified.
"JOKES ON YOU ASSHOLE, I LOVE HOT SHIT!" His jaw began to drop as he screamed,
"NOO!" I snatched the hot sauce from his cold grasp, I quickly began to undo the bottles lid, when all of a sudden I was interrupted by a cold unsettling voice
"pigs, all of you, just pathetic pigs" the air suddenly went cold, me and lars both froze, could this really be the time? Why did she decide to appear now? By the sound of her voice it seemed she was obviously upset about something. I turned my head towards the sound of the menacing voice, and there is could see E, fiddling with a pocket knife, her smile was nothing less than cold and sinister. Lars stood in front of me with his arm pushing me behind him as he slowly nudged me back, he leaned in as he whispered
"go call Ed" E's head perked up and her smile once again turned into a unsettling frown, although her eyes remained psychotic.
"go get who Lars?" she interrupted, me and lars remained quite hoping that this was about to go away. "I said..." she quickly raised up from her seat as she quickly slashed out her pocket knife, her breathing became a lot heavier and deeper. "WHO!" Within moments she lunged towards me and lars, her movement lanky and almost freakishly fast. Before I knew it is was shoved across the room by lars as I plummeted towards the ground, I looked up to see E nailing lars to the wall, her knife pressed against his throat. Her eyes made contact with mine as her smile only seemed to deepen.
"Who are you going to call now Lexi?" I searched my pockets to try and grab my phone, after quickly realizing it was only two feet from my reach. My hand trembled towards the phone before I heard the sallow voice shout, "DON'T!" I stopped looking back at E, her stare only became more intense as I noticed that Lars was about to cry "Or I'll slit his throat" she said her knife pressed deeper into Lars neck.
He looked back at me in pain, the look on his face only read help me but there was nothing I could do.
"Why are you-you here?" I said, the monster standing before me head began to tilt. She chuckled before saying
"you guys like games right?", her cold eyes made eye contact with mine, I felt as my very core began to shake in fear. I didn't know what to do, I had never experienced E like this, sure she had moments where she'd break a few valuable possessions in total rage but she never threatened anyone of us before, so that means there was something that happened either before or during the sleepover that made her super pissed but what could it possibly be?
"Alright E, I think you've had enough fun for today." we heard a familiar voice say, I looked up and it was none other than Edward standing heroically in front of me. How did he even know that- my thoughts were quickly interrupted as I looked over at lars' hand which holding his phone. E seemed to be interrupted with the same thought as well.
"Bastard" she said looking furiously at lars.
"Let him go E." Edward's voice said coldly, E's eyes widened as sweat began to leak from her forehead. She stepped back, her grip on the knife was still tight as the sound of her psychopathic laughter began to roar, she looked back at me and Ed smiling as she said.
"Oh Ebony…your no fun" she suddenly kneeled to the ground her hands tightly gripping her head. Her head quickly jerked up, her eyes quickly searching around the room and her facial expression read that she was tremendously concerned,
"oh my god.." everyone in the room stood as though we were bracing for attack, her hand covered her mouth and tears dripped to the ground,
"thank goodness you're all okay…" everyone began to sigh, E was finally gone. Both me and lars kneeled down for a group hug as we all began to cry. The embrace was truly sentimental, I looked back at Ed who looked both happy and left out, I quickly grabbed his arm and dragged him down to the floor to join this emotional group hug. I looked up to see lars looking at me with the smuggest of smirks, I looked at him with dissatisfaction and rolled my eyes, nuzzling into the crook of Ed's neck. I pulled everyone in tighter, and kinda felt for whoever had Ed's Robotic arm around them…
"Th-th-that was sc-cary," I said shakily stuttering like I did when I was scared or upset, I felt a sympathetic gaze from Ed.
"She's never done that before," Lars said softly, Obviously still very shaken up by what had just ensued,
"I've never heard her think so violently, She's dangerous guys." Ebony began,
"Yeah, No shit," Ed spoke.
We stayed in that position on the floor for a long time. Mainly until we were completely sure that E had gone. Ed stood to leave but I grabbed on his sleeve,
"St-stay?" I basically begged, trying not to tear up. He crouched down in front of me, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear,
"If you really want me too," I nodded furiously, Making Ed smile. He dropped to his knees and wrapped his arms around me. Earning an aww from the others which was cut off by something but I didn't question it, I was contempt where I was, wrapped up in Ed's arms, the safest place I've ever been, and ever will be.
Ebony's Pov,
We all sat in a kind of circular format, as if there was a invisible campfire between us. Everyone began to chat amongst themselves obviously trying to shake off the the traumatic experience that just happened, and as normal as everyone was trying to be in knew deep down that the sound of laughter and jokes being made were just all miserable attempts to stop me from feeling bad. I wrapped my arms around my legs trying to comfort myself from my own thoughts, the only thing I could think of was how weak I was to even let this whole thing happen to everyone in the first place, how I could have almost lost everyone I'd ever cared for again. I knew I could have stopped this, I've prevented this from happening more than once yet I let my emotions get the best of me. Memories of what E was saying in my head made my heart ache in pain, things like "you think they actually care about you as much as I do?" or "give me a break. No one cares about us no matter how friendly they act" stuck with me. I knew that she was wrong but would it be so hard to believe if she was telling the truth? I felt a cold hand tap my shoulder, I snapped back to see Lars smiling concernedly at me.
"Hey, you okay Ebony?" He said his eyes seemed to soften, I could tell he already knew the answer.
"No Lars, I'm not okay…" he leaned into me for a hug looking a lot more sympathetic. "And I don't know why you all want to be friends with me still". Lars perked back up as he tilted his head in confusion,
"wait, what do you mean by that?" I looked down to my feet again my legs still huddled amongst the embrace of my arms, "you almost died lars, I almost killed you… don't you hate me for that?" Lars froze, his smile began to widen as he chuckled to himself, I looked back at him with confusion "What's so funny?" I said sounding completely and utterly confused.
"well firstly your not the one who tried to kill me that was E, and secondly don't blame yourself for something you couldn't control. No matter what happens me and Lexi are always going to be here for you, nothing will change that." I looked back at him with watery eyes as we both prepare for a friendship hug, at this point I could truly confirm that E was wrong and I could feel as though E was taking that back too. Lars then turned to me and pointed at Lexi and Edward, who were cuddling in the background and said,
"Now onto other important matters" I could feel myself giggle as I knew exactly what he was about to say "Iexi knows what I'm planning so I need you to grab my phone from my pocket and take a photo to savor this moment." my eyebrow began to perk up
"are you sure?" I said, not entirely sure what Lexi would think of this. He looked back at me smugly
"trust me she'll be thanking me later" I couldn't help but laugh at his response as I reached for his phone.
As I unlocked his phone I couldn't help but notice his distressed texts to ed, part of me didn't want to look but I couldn't help but notice how long the conversation went on for, and to my surprise the texts only began to fill my head with more questions as my eyes silently read what was glowing from the screen:
Lars: Ed help!
Edward: what's going on?
Lars: E's out of control, need help
My stomach began to drop once again from guilt but I continued to read
Edward: okay, I'll get Alphonse and we'll be on our way
Lars: DON'T GET ALPHONSE
Edward: why?
Edward: Lars!
I froze looking up at lars, I could feel my face turn into some sort of state of shock. Lars looked back at me confused, "What's taking so-" he stopped in sudden realization that I had read the text. My eyes remained to stare him down as he refused to make any form of eye contact with me. "Why didn't you want alphonse to know?" He refused to answer me, I could feel my stomach drop. "Please talk to me" I sadly whimpered, I really didn't want any secrets between us all. He sighed still looking down at his feet.
"I didn't tell him because I didn't want him to worry about me." concernedly I replied
"Why?" He remained quite for a while before replying once more,
"he's always dealing with so much, and if I told him it'll only make him more stressed and I don't want that." I stared up at him again, and this point it made me wonder weather or not he told Alphonse about all the stuff that happens to him after school. The silence quickly broke as he nudged me "QUICKLY, I THINK SOMETHING'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN!" I rushed out the camera on his phone and focused it on the two. Ed's head Nudged closer to Lexis ear as we heard him sniff, "wait a minute..." he whispered, both me and lars leaned in, "did you…" Ed said again, Lars and I looked at them both in anticipation as he sniffed again.
"DID YOU JUST FART!" he screamed swooping away, Lexi began to roar with uncontrollable laughter as she replied "YEP!" Lexi cracked up laughing and Ed snickered. Both me and lars looked at each other in complete dissatisfaction and disappointed.
"OH MY GOD LEXI IT STINKS! I'M GETTING OUT OF HERE!" Lexi sprung up from and floor as she reached for his arm and whined
"NOOO PLEASE ED!" Ed looked up at her as he brushed himself off and sighed,
"Look, I've got to go anyway Al's probably wondering where I am" Lexi looked down depressedly obviously making Ed feel bad as she sighed and replied,
"well...at least can I say goodbye to you properly?". Both me and lars eyes began to widen in surprise,
"alone?" Edward questioned.
"preferably" Lexi responded looking back at lars and I. Edward's eyes began to widen, almost as if he was confused and scared. "I mean… i'll don't see why not?" Lexi began to smile once more, before heading to the door Edward gave both me and lars a hug goodbye as we wished him goodnight, as one door closed we could hear another one open outside. The room was silent,
"are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I said to Lars coldly. Lars picked up my phone and handed it back to me he nodded as he very seriously responded
"absolutely!". We both slowly army crawled toward the window, where we saw Ed and Lexi facing each other. We raised our phones and focused our eyes on the screens, it seemed like they were talking about something, whatever the subject at hand it was enough to make Lexis face turn bright red as her eyes began to water. Edward leaned toward her for a long sentimental hug, their eyes then meet and the hug soon turned into something deeper, there lips crashed against each other and although they couldn't hear it roars of fan boyish and girlish screams roared within the room. "DID YOU GET IT?" I said to Lars who collapsed to the ground squealing like a pig,
"HELL YEAH I GOT IT YOU?"
I responded with, "HELL YES!" We both continued to scream in excitement lars too a large breath and said, "I'm so sending this to Alphonse'!" I continued to smile as I made my way back to the window, "i'll check up on the new happy couple" Lars continued to scream in excitement. I slowly opened, and to my surprise i'll saw both Lexi and Edward in total embarrassment looking back at the two of us, I froze in silence, Lars got up and looked up at me in confusion "What's wrong? he said. He moved slowly towards the window before realising that we had been caught. "YEAH WE HEARD EVERYTHING YOU LITTLE BRATS!" shouted Edward furiously both me and lars looked back at each other exchanging the look of oh shit. We both slowly backed away from the window and decided it was best to leave them alone for now.
The hours went by and the two of us continued to lounge around the room both our eyes glued to our screens checking our phones, Lars chuckled to himself before facing his screen toward my face "heh look what alphonse sent me" I looked back at him and chuckled "who's armoured bae?" I questioned whilst giggling. His face immediately turned bright red "WAIT WHAT!?" he screamed in embassament. Suddenly our eyes averted towards the door. "Lexi!" I squealed rushing up to her for a hug, she smiled back at me. Lars looked up her smugly once again "sooo how'd it go?" she looked down at the ground seriously as she nervously said, "umm well" the two of us looked up at her concerned "it was...AMAZING!" we both looked up her giggling. I began to yawn stretching my arms and plunging to the ground. Lexi looked at both me and lars who were half alive and half dead. I think it's time we all head to bed, don't you think" I looked up at the he smiling in satisfaction "agreed" lars head jerked up as he whined "NOoOo I wanna hear what happened" he said his eyes half closed. Lexi switched off the lights and smiled "how's about it tell you all in the morning okay?" before I could even respond my brain quickly switched off as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
