AN: A quick note to my readers, I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding last chapter with the arrows from Harry's bow. The first group are conjured arrows that are your regular…okay as regular as celestial bronze can get, arrows. The second ones where I said they would be 'made out of magic and take more energy', I meant they were formed of raw magic and not conjured, they would be solid magic and more powerful.
Wrath of the Sun
Chapter 2
-Harry-
Weaving in between everyone around him Harry made his way into the airport to try and catch a plane to New York. Along with the weapon's in the duffle bag his mom left him, thankfully enchanted to be as light as a feather and have a massive interior, he had found some money, some medicine, a bit of food, and even some letters explaining more about the Greek world including a force called 'the mist' which he apparently had a lot of control over. With that in mind he had spent his time as he made his way to the airport over the past several days, through walking and hitch-hiking, to practice controlling the mist on any mortal he came across until he could influence their thoughts to at least a small degree.
Even though he had to make the journey on his own though he didn't hold it against his parents as they had rescued him as soon as they managed to escape his grandpa's notice to come to him. And whenever the sun was in the sky he could almost feel his father smiling down at him in pride while the moon seemed to pour out a calm affection towards him.
Three days into his journey though he had gained both a traveling companion and his first monster kill. He had been hiking through some trees, following a tingle of what he thought was magic, when he heard a scream. Running towards it, drawing his sword in its stick form which he always kept in his pocket, he burst into a clearing to see a giant spider, size of a small horse, eating a man that had apparently been opening the cage to try to sedate the creature if the vial next to him had been any indication. Not even thinking he had rushed in and stabbed the creature from behind as it was focused on its meal before watching it turn to golden dust revealing the mauled corpse it had been blocking causing him to be violently ill.
After covering the body he began looking through the camp sight and found the man's journal. The man was a poacher who would capture magical creatures to either be killed and stuffed or used in what equaled underground dogfights. At that point his sympathy for the man was rather low as he had always been fond of animals, something that he guessed was his Aunt Artemis' influence, and burned the man's body before looking around at the other creatures in the cages nearby.
He had quickly found the key to unlock the cages and released them, letting out a unicorn that had nuzzled him in thanks, a bound and gagged centaur who thanked him and introduced himself as Firenze before running off, and attached to a cart that he assumed had been pulling the carriages was some sort of half-horse half-eagle that bowed low to him after he removed the nasty looking collar from around its neck before flying off. The final cage though had a young black dragon inside of it.
Even after being let out the dragon had decided to follow him around, sometimes riding in his duffle bag with nothing but his head sticking out like a cat as they travelled. Finally though they were at the airport as he focused and wove the mist around himself to make him appear invisible…or at least unnoticeable to everyone else who was too focused on catching their own flights.
After finding a plane that would be going straight to New York he snuck on board, making sure his little dragon friend kept quiet, and took a seat in what he heard being called 'coach'. The almost seven hour flight was daunting for him as he struggled to maintain his weave of mist to keep people from noticing him…and to steal some food…he was hungry!
The moment the wheels of the plane hit the ground he breathed a sigh of relief before sneaking out at the first chance and made his way down to the first floor of the Airport but froze when he saw an awkward looking teenager holing a sign saying "Harry Potter" on it. Before he could decide whether or not it was a trick, every one of his parents' letters in the bag had warned him about monsters in disguise, he heard his mother's voice in his head 'do not worry Harry, he is there to take you to camp'.
Smiling, and sending a silent thank you to his mother, he decided to have a little fun as he snuck up behind the Satyr and dropped his Mist illusion before going "Hi!" as cheerfully as possible causing the teenager to shoot into the air with a yelp, "Did Mommy and Daddy send you from the camp?" he asked once the teenager got back on his feet.
"You're Harry Potter?" the teenager asked warily.
Nodding eagerly he gave his widest grin as the teenager chuckled "Alright kid, let's go.".
"You're not going to check if I'm a monster?" he asked in surprise "Mommy and Daddy said that monsters use disguises all the time.".
The kid did a double take at his questions before raising an eyebrow in challenge "Then how do you know I'm not a monster?".
"I noticed you but before I could find out if you were or not Mommy told me you were here to take me to camp." He said simply.
"Your immortal parent talks to you in your head?" the boy asked in surprise.
"They both do," he said confused "don't yours?".
"Wait, wait, wait," the boy said shaking his head in confusion as they began walking outside towards a van with the words 'camp half-blood' written on the side in Greek "what do you mean they both do? You have TWO gods as parents?".
"Yep!" he said cheerfully, not noticing the boy looking faint "I was lucky as I have two mommies and two daddies!".
"Oooookay into the van little guy!" the teenager said quickly "before you drop another bomb shell that will give me a heart attack.". The teenager quickly put him in the shotgun seat before climbing into the driver's spot "I'm Will Solace by the way," the teenager said as he started the car "son of Apollo.".
Quickly looking at the boy in awe he exclaimed eagerly "Daddy sent big brother to pick me up!" causing his new brother Will to stumble in his seat.
"Your dad is Apollo?!" Will asked in shock "Then who's your mom?".
"Mommy Hecate," he said proudly "and I'm gonna learn magic, just like her!".
Sighing in amused exasperation Will buckled his seatbelt and pulled out of the parking lot "Kid," he said chuckling "I think you are going to make the camp a LOT more interesting.".
-Camp Half-Blood big house-
He and big brother Will had just parked the car and were about to get out to get to the cabins and away from the storm that had just started when he heard a roar from the hill they had just passed a few minutes ago.
Not even waiting for Will he grabbed his bag, trying not to jostle his dragon friend too much, as he ran towards the hill. Getting to the top he saw a boy who looked his age with goat legs, a blonde girl who looked seven as well, and a pair of teenagers all running from a group of big dogs and giant bat ladies.
Quickly setting down his bag he drew his bow and began shooting at the monsters, having practiced on his hike to the airport. He was quickly joined by big brother who cursed at not having a bow on hand. "Go get help Big Brother!" he yelled as he continued shooting the arrows, feeling the drain on his already depleted energy from maintaining the mist so long earlier.
Will seemed indecisive for a moment before cursing and running back to the big house as fast as he could, a loud horn sounding moments later. The call of the horn distracted him though as he found himself on his back with one of the big dogs about to bite him before his dragon friend, who he hadn't been able to find a name for, growled and lunged at the dog, biting and clawing at it before the dog turned to dust but not before cutting up his arms and legs, taking away the last of his strength as he dropped.
Before he could try and get back up though the first of the kids he saw, the teenage boy, ran over and picked him up, his dragon friend flying up to guard him, and yelled "Thalia! Come on!".
"Get the boy out of here Luke!" the teenage girl yelled "Look after him and the others! I'll hold them off.".
With that the monsters swarmed the girl as she fought until, just as he began to black out, a massive burst of lighting shot from the sky and struck her. He wasn't sure if he was hallucinating but he was sure he saw an oak tree growing from the spot she was struck.
AN: The Dragon is supposed to be a Hebredian Black dragon, the more powerful breed from England/Scotland so i decided to give Harry an epic pet. There's a link on my profile page to how i pictured it to look.
